pick axe elbow :<

Found stretching the wrist flexors helped when i had similar issue! Hope it heals quick!

yea that's exactly what it is. thanks for the info! been going on for 3 weeks or so i think.

been trying to stretch wrist flexors, but not helping much yet. i've done some brutal self massage on it, seems to help a bit, until i pick axe again.

had to pick axe yesterday, flared it up more. need to avoid pick axe for a while. not ez tho, farm life kinda requires it. faaawk.

pc man !

done w/ pick axe for a week or so .. which is good, i need it. really tears my right medial elbow up. curls + pickaxe = horrible combo. going on 3 weeks now w/ discomfort in there, if i do a curl-like motion.

need it to heal.

w/o:
- evening
- after 2 hours of pick axe

S1: 3-5 sec dead hang pronated pullup variation: BW x {9 neutral, 8 wide, 7 very-wide}

S1: full dips: BW x 13, 12, 11
- NICE!!

S1: ssbar parallel squat: BW x 20, 20, 20

feeling strong.

good thing that pronated pullups don't bug my elbow much. really hoping i can keep doing them, because i'm making some good gains right now. feeling/seeing it.

pc!

today tho.. 10 straight hours of farm life.

built an impressive mount with 6 big plants in it, 14 total. doing these mounds because going down into the ground is so stressful - so many roots to important trees live there. plus it retains a ton of water.

will post a photo tmw i think .. plan to finish another mound tmw as well.

wrecked tho.. was so brutal. hardest part of anything is digging up grass/sod without destroying tree roots. takes forever. non-stop pick axe.

farm life.

^^ i liked the parts about calling out rap. it's such a mess. even tho i love some "hard rap", i do hate the message(s) it puts out. lots of folks listen to it as of it's a blueprint. not good.

on that note, moar lil baby :d i like this beat, chamber music ish somewhat.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wWx63kJTxY

i listen to more country now, especially when i'm driving. puts me in a great mood. so many good songs, like this one:

luke bryan has some corny stuff but also some great stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6EGQFJLl04

love it.

found out today that i got an A+ on my dissertation. according to the rubric they gave us at the beginning of the year, my score is just shy of proper journal publication quality. so when we get the official results i'm going to ask my adviser what i'd have to do to upgrade it into publishable shape. that put a smile on my face.

also have spent the last couple of days repainting the front hall and staircase in my parents' house. got a bit more to do tomorrow, but god what a great task. requires full focus but very little mental processing power and it's obviously screen-free. good stuff.

damn dude that's solid. great work :almostascoolasnyancat: :wowthatwasnutswtf: :goodjobbro:

and these light ~hour runs are so beneficial.

it's the shoes. like when swimmers started using those sharkfin bodysuits in the early 2000s and every swimming WR went down in short order.

yea man it's a bummer.

it's beyond a ban now, unfortunately. we're just looking at two different sets of records now. but it's all going to get blurred. really sucks.

hope they ban them from olympic marathon etc.. but it's also a tough questions because shoe tech varies so much, even without the double/triple carbon fiber spring action systems. bleh.

i tell you what tho.. get a pair of vaporfly 4%'s or any of these shoes.. and you'll def respect the performances a bit more - i don't know how they run in these new shoes. they feel like clown shoes. ran a few times in them and absolutely hated it. i'll take my minimalist af 3-4 oz shoes any day over those contraptions.

no idea how they run so fast in them.

pc

Ohhhh don't say that to the shoe maniac, want me to spend 250 euros for shoes i dont really need?

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/dec/06/kibiwott-kandie-breaks-58-minutes-for-half-marathon-wearing-new-shoe-technology

And they are adidas too, although they don't have my beloved boost. It seems that the foam is not so important in the top series, the carbon plates(Nike)/rods(Adidas) do all the job.

Adizeros:

Vaporflys:

they've been hyping up the new adidas for a while now (first saw them on rhonex w/ smiley faces covering them - top secret area 51 technology) .. looks like they are legit lol. tons of adidas athletes now beating the nike athletes lately.

hit 12 dips two days ago.

pullups (pronated) feeling better for my elbow .. hopefully can just keep knocking those out for a bit and let this heal.

also did a 2 mile run on sunday.

body feels wrecked from sat/sun farm life.

5 December

'Milk gains' session ;D

2K Warmup

1K TIME TRIAL : 3:52 , :personal-record: , previous was 3:56

5 minutes walking rest

800M TIME TRIAL : 3:25 , :personal-record: , previous was 3:30

8 minutes walking/slow jogging rest, dead.

400M TIME TRIAL : 1:18 , :personal-record: , previous was 1:20

3 minutes walking rest

2*400M @ 90 %

2K cool down

Total 9K @ 1:02:13

The 1K & 800M PRs were mixed uphill and downhill. The 400m PR was all downhill. about 15m descent, so was the previous PR.
Should have rested more after the 1K , 5 minutes were not even close to full recovery, I could have done much better at the 800m. Oh well.
Delighted!!!!

dang. pr city. solid session right there.

great work! :ibrunning:

uhh wtf.

top 4 finishers @ valencia ran under the previous WR .. all 4 of them ran under 58 min for the half.

that's incredible & weird.

good writeup:

https://www.letsrun.com/news/2020/12/utter-insanity-kibiwott-kandie-runs-5732-as-the-top-4-finishers-break-the-world-record-in-the-valencia-half-marathon/

57:31 wtf?

rhonex, 57:49 half marathon debut. wtf?

Quote
Yet none of those record-breaking runs could compare to what unfolded on Sunday morning at the Valencia Half Marathon. In a race that redefined the limits of the 13.1-mile event, the first four finishers ran under Geoffrey Kamworor’s 58:01 world record.

The sub-58:00 club, which a few hours ago did not even exist, now has four members. Road running has officially gone insane.

wtf.
