came down with a cold over the last two days. did not sleep well in NYC (very uncomfortable beds at the two places i crashed). haven't been sleeping well at all recently, in general. baseline anxiety is up, i guess, which makes sense given that i'm moving 7,000 miles away on monday. mentally i feel fine but my body is telling me otherwise.

Leonel it's totally possible that protein helps him with satiety, so even if he's pissing a lot of it out (he is), if it's a short-term surge he's probably not damaging his kidneys.

Still, entropy, you should double-check protein levels with your doc the next time you go for a checkup, if you want to continue eating that much per day.

The team i "support" just completed a huge transfer yesterday, Dante Amaral. He is at the dawntwilight of his career now but i read he is arguably one of the best volleyball players of all time?
Will definitely go see some games this year, just for witnessing a legend play, heh.

unless today is opposite day  :-*

worked out with my mom today, last time i'll have a chance to do that before moving. she cried partway through, so we took a break and talked about shit. life has been really, really stressful for her recently -- my brother moving back to our town and still just being the double-handful he always is, plus now my grandmother has gotten really sick, is in the hospital, and probably can't move back into her apartment for a while because she clearly can't take care of herself right now. and of course, me moving away is hard for her; she'll miss me a lot and i've been physically close for a long time.

i have more reflections about this but they'll have to wait. gotta get some dinner together.

gotta find another way to do weighted pistols

why? there are like 8 bajillion ways to strengthen your legs that are easier to load. or you could do more reps. plenty of ways to progress.

at least you're not in haiti.

Mate it's all 1st world problems here. We've got nothing on the rest of the world when if comes to natural disasters.

not to say it doesn't suck when a huge storm hits, though! best way to deal with it is to be like this guy: https://www.facebook.com/lane.pittman/videos/vb.542376723/10153984485731724/?type=2&theater.

yesterday:

- tennis x 1 hour
was windy as hell. ball doing funny things on the toss-level windy. so it was a sloppy session, but still fun and worked up a little sweat.

combination of post-party sluggishness and wanting to maximize time with my family before i leave in one week (!) meant no gym.

so as to cut off the acole thread hijack: i think you should email the >35 track and field group. if you explain that you're an amateur/noob and are having difficulty finding training partners and competitions, they might let you come by and train anyway. i mean, you're canadian, y'all are nice. worst case scenario, they send a polite "no."

vancouver. yea i did some googling but only found a track and field club for people 35+. that'll be more than a decade for me before i can join lol.

i think it's worth emailing them. lots of people are nice, they might let you come train anyway if you explain your situation.

that is one goofy-ass street grid. normally when streets are numbered it's because they're consecutive to each other, not with 82nd branching out of 81st!
