nick ross's foot overpronates so much on the plant it's ridic. looks like he should be spraining his ankle every time but he gets so much power out of it. amazing.

also, on the NFL players vid, i think cole beasley is 5'8.

just got home from week at beach. came back via charlotte for my grandpa's 90th birthday, which was awesome, and visiting my brother, which was great to do but less awesome. something like 17 hours in the car over two days.

beach=heaven.

i played tennis at least once every day but one and did variants of the daily routine four of the days. parents and brother and brother's gf joined, which was really fun.

gotta stretch and roll before bed so i don't wake up feeling all janky.

also, football is here.

as a d-line cutter, anaerobic endurance is paramount. you can be the quickest or bounciest dude in the world but if your team throws a zone and in you're in the cup and you die, your usefulness declines real quick. IIRC, greater aerobic fitness enables faster recovery between points, as well.

you're tall and can jump reasonably well, certainly well enough to sky the majority of players if you have a good read. can't remember how fast you are but top speed is less important than route-running on O and change of direction ability on D.

if i were you i'd follow t0ddday's advice and do some technique work for SLRVJ -- at a disc as much as possible, get someone to huck to you and go up for it, or throw high under throws -- and cutting/route-running, and focus on repeat sprints. as the season goes on you can cut back on the sprinting volume but you're still worried about being in good enough shape so put the emphasis on that for now. workouts could be something like:

- throws, route running, SLRVJ (15-20 mins total)
- repeat sprints a la the t0ddday 150 hell workout that makes me want to throw up (no idea how long this would take)
- more throws and SLRVJ to cool down and practice skills while tired (10-15 mins total)

maryland is still in the top-5 for gold medals won by country, tied for russia with 12. today's maryland champ is wrestler helen maroulis, who grew up 30-40 minutes from me.

after this weekend we should have at least 15 (durant, melo, and angel mccoughtry). gary russell (boxing), aaron russell (volleyball), and kyle snyder (wrestling) all still have realistic shots at gold, too.

suck it russia. and california.

Hahahaha.  Wow you found the only thing Maryland can beat California in.  Nice job...  Those athletes may be FROM maryland but were they developed in Maryland? Lol.  We develop pretty good athletes here at USC:

If USC were a country, its 288 Summer Olympics medals would place it 16th. And in six different Olympics, USC’s medal count would have positioned it among the top 10 competing nations.

Ok, so Maryland is good in these olympics... But... What are they all time?  How many spots behind a little school from California?

aw, don't be bitter boo. we're just better than y'all this time around.  :trolldance:

Let's not read into too much what is going on in an athletes mind especially if we don't know them.

didn't you say like two days ago that gatlin was "waiting for bolt"?

how's your knee?

3611
toes to bar and pull-downs for core.

also, my n=1 is that my knee can feel fully healthy after even 4-5 days of rest and like it could handle anything, but it starts bothering me again almost immediately after i start jumping. so don't take for granted that it feels great now.

i do MB tosses with a 12lb ball on a squash or racquetball court. high ceilings mean it's easy to "measure" improvement: the harder (louder) it hits the ceiling, the more powerful the throw.
