advice: don't just show up at a track and do a track session. if you do, 100m is not "the shortest" unless you're a distance runner or something. 30m and 60m work can be valuable.

yeah lighter shoes, like cross country racing flats, tend to be cheaper. you can get a good pair for ~$50, and if you dig around a bit probably for $35 on sale. they're worth saving up for even if that's a stretch for you. i think i speak for a lot of members of the forum when i say that shoes really do make a difference.

some examples:
-nike zoom waffle racer (preferred shoe of adarqui himself for many years)
-adidas adizero takumi
-mizuno wave musha (i have had several pairs of these, love them, ran in them last night)
-saucony kilkenny
-new balance xc700

she's doing a couch-to-5K thing, is 62. this was not challenging.

inconsistent, couple good throws and a couple wack ones. forearms felt weak for some reason.

- squat MSEM 315 x 1,1,1,1,1
might have done 6, i forget.

- high-foot BSS x 20/leg

- superset x 3
-- pull up x 1,2,3
-- dip x 1,2,3

- warm up

- DLRVJ x 10 (submax)

- SL SVJ x 5,5

- glute activation stuff

- stretch

super pissed to have a headache because otherwise body felt good. no way to do max jumps (or squats or really much of anything) with that much pain though so i just did the above and bagged it. try again tomorrow.
