I know I was disappointed by the call and it partly has to do with the Griezmann play before and also the fact that it was the world cup final... Rule of thumb is if it's 50/50 and you're not sure, don't call it. Especially if it's a decisive call in the final. Thing I don't understand about VAR, the ref is already going over to make the decision, why doesn't someone in the booth mention, "hey you fd up on the free kick it was a dive, just know if you give this call as well, you're massively influencing the game in one teams favor. Two calls of that caliber are almost impossible to overcome.

ya exactly.

and don't even let it get to that "you messed up the dive/free kick" part of it, that should have been fixed by VAR. that is what i'll remember tainting that match, not the handball. that dive/free kick was truly awful officiating.

It could've been an epic game, Croatia was dominant on the ball for 60 minutes but chasing two goals, especially ones off bad calls is nearly impossible to do at that level. I stopped watching after the third France goal. Croatia had spent all their energy through previous games then trying to play catch up was too much. I thought they deserved more of a chance and I wanted to see France tested but everything went their way. I think they would've had the better chance to win either way but Croatia was really bringing it, it was sad to watch them go down that way after all that effort.

ya well said. CRO really controlled most of that game, the goals got easier towards the end once those 2 goals happened from the awful call & questionable call.

No caffeine today. Shud be interesting! Wasn't got a pretty good headache in the evening and it stayed until i fell asleep. Ate a package of cookies and some chocolate. Not proud of it but long story short, that girl i mentioned earlier, i managed to keep her interest for another week but yesterday night she texted to say take care. Have not dealt well with it, she was probably the one but i wasn't present and blew the chance.

damn that sucks.

dno about "the one" tho.

What strikes me is that, and we all know this, there isn't one key to success. Having said that, though, a major clue is that success can be found by consistency (Kipchoge), high mileage (everyone pre-1985), and NOT necessarily a fixed schedule (Deek) or killer individual workouts (every workout king ever).

In reviewing my own running logs I found that I was always tired and complaining about it (Steve Scott logs), and I'd nearly always default to 'just running,' rather than doing real workout days. Then, my workout days were hardly ever planned, they'd just happen on days I felt better. There was maybe more an emphasis to find these days with races upcoming, but if racing a lot, there was no need.

So race more.

good post. lol.

lucked out.

just found 2 pair of my fav shoes on ebay.. saucony shay xc4's!

got one pair in flats, the other in spikes! i've never had those shoes in spikes but I imagine i'll love em`. Going to do more XC races so, need some good XC spikes.

shay xc4's have my most mileage:
- ~1400 on my discontinued pair
- 900+/800+ on my gray/blue pairs that i still run in.

happy af that I found some more.

- run 7.10 km in 39:49

- stretch

first 4 km with gf, it's hard to speed up much once i get into a groove at a particular pace.

it definitely is. it's nice to practice it though on occasion. just *slowly* start building the pace, get the idea of a progression into your head, then it's easier. I did a session the other day where the goal was to progression the last mile, after ~1.5+ hours of steady/slow pace, but I had alot of time to think about increasing pace on that last mile, just helps alot when you think about "progression run" cue, i've found.

pc!

^^ nice. good info.

I still think it was more clear than not.

I remember there was another hand ball by Croatia in that game, in the box, but the FRA player kicked it towards the sideline instead of at the goal, and it hit the CRO player's hand. Ref didn't entertain it for a second, which was great.

VAR should have overturned that free kick early on where Griezmann flopped. That was a deliberate flop that lead to a goal. I was happy to see CRO equalize it soon after. The match might have been a little different if that flop got overturned. IMHO, that was the real mistake of the match. That gave FRA an early 1-0 lead on a complete b.s., obvious flop. I'd personally feel ashamed of myself if I did something like that in competition, lmao. Not sure how these guys live with themselves.. I guess the money/prize/trophy is worth the dishonor to most people. Just play straight up don't fu*king do cheap, weak, dirty sh*t. /rant :ninja: :derp:

i dno tho, have to tuck your arm .. can't let it flail out there hoping to accidentally block the ball. it also prevented the ball from getting through, and there was another attacker on the other side, potential connection.

doesn't have to be intentional, can be an intentional accident or just a true accident, need to tuck the arm as far as I know.

to me it was the right call for sure.
