On another note, Luka Modric is amazing, like beyond belief. He needs to win best player for the World Cup and Ballon d or since he won the Champions League with Real Madrid. He's controlled 3 games that went 120 minutes, how nuts is that. I've never seen a player like that, running all over the place then connected on nearly every pass perfectly with either foot and all parts of his foot. Usually teams have a midfielder who runs all over and makes tackles and another who keeps his legs fresher to make accurate decisive passes. He does both consistently and itsss absolutely nuts.

Agreed, he is relentless, so much heart. Even when he ends up looking a bit tired at the end of some match, he finds another gear & still has his technique/precision.

Can't wait to see the match tmw, and can't wait to see what Modric can do. I also feel like Giroud will have a big performance.

France is my team tho, other than the US soo.. FRANCE!!!!

Hahaha I saw you got all that France gear! I really like them as a team, but I'll be mostly neutral while leaning for the underdog. The only thing I want is for it to be a good game. Realistically I think Croatia has played their best soccer and then some, I'm not sure how much they have left. With France, they've been so solid and in control of their matches and I don't even think they've quite peaked as a team yet. I'm really hoping its not a 2-0 or worse result with France in control. You never know though, lets just hope for a good game.

yup well said. also hoping for a great match, but hoping FRA pulls it out.

ya I have french roots.. lulz. I raced the mile today one of my france shirts I got yesterday, hah. :ninja: :trolldance: :ibrunning:

dier almost scored but defender kicked it away. Belgium score 2-0. Just humiliating for England.

This is exposing England's real ability.

Also a side note, the people in the final are the only ones to defeat argentina no one else has defeated argentina.

ENG looked bad :(

They just don't look good on the attack. They make so many mistakes, seem too afraid to take risks/shots, pass up great opportunities etc. I mean, that's versus tough opposition. Against easier opposition they look very different.

what a save by the Belgium defender.. absolutely incredible.

- run 7.4 km in 40:00, walk 0.7km

- stretch

have decided that 30 mins at a stretch and going for two a days doesn't work. it's too hard with work to plan for that. gonna switch to duration based running with less focus on pace. 40 mins per day for the first week, then adding minutes slowly over the next few weeks. consistency > *.

good change.

that's what i was kinda suggesting a few weeks ago. consistency/frequency > *, easier to do with lots of lighter running, not worrying about pace etc. but then on days where you feel good, you just crank it up hard, then go back to relaxing until your body gives you the signals again etc. It seems to be alot less "stressful" mentally, to train that way as well. Having your mind on "pace" all the time, even if it's slow paces etc, just seems to be annoying in my experience. I also love how some days I go out and run at 10:XX, vs 12:XX, vs 8:XX, all same effort, just different levels of recovery/performance.

doubles make it easier to get in much longer total duration, but you don't really need that right now (like you said). your plan of ~40 minutes and slowly building on it etc is good. You might need to cut some sessions at 30 minutes if you are feeling too drained, so personally i'd say "shoot for 40 minutes on your non-drained sessions", and allow yourself to get in like 20-30 minutes on a drained day ... ie instead of not getting in a run that day, try to just get in a really light one, shuffle style. IMHO there needs to be a little wiggle room to not hit 40 minutes *every* day, at least in my mind, otherwise it kind of becomes a replacement for "pace" obsession etc.

Tennis / Re: Wimbledon
« on: July 14, 2018, 11:14:15 am »
Wimbledon has reached semi finals and yesterday semi final between anderson and isrin or something like that. was an epic match. back and forth.

Longest match in history ever breaks the longest match record to 6hrs 35mins, both have 2 game points last round went to 26 - 24 to anderson. one point anderson fell down and got up and continued the rally with a left hand response and won that rally.
his serve has 80% ace rate.

just epic and nadal and djokovic had to wait lol.

i watched the live update stats of Anderson/Isner, was incredible.. just watching the stats was exciting. HAH.

damn really wanted Nadal.

Djokovic vs Anderson should be decent, both guys have to be tired tmw. I'd pick Djokovic for sure, but even he's playing 3 days in a row now because of how they cut off the match last night.

All I know tho is...

SERENA!!@$)(!@$)(!@)

U20 1500m championship.

Ingerbrigsten vs Manangoi.

Going to be a great many years of Ingerbrigsten right on the heels of the Kenyans, I imagine he'll get some big W's too.

Great race:
