what's the point of a workout like that? like, what's the point of doing ten free throws? if it's just conditioning and light skill work i guess it's fine but the volume seems awfully low. the only thing with appropriate-seeming volume are the depth jumps, but they make no sense in a conditioning workout.

Lol I believe it. One of the best catches ive ever seen. Period.

same.. and i only saw it on replay.. seeing that live must have been nuts.

LBSS, you witness that catch live? seems so.

yeah man. one of those things i'll probably always be glad to have seen live, like the messi goal in 2007 that duplicated maradona's goal of the century. i was just eating dinner with the game on, with my host family in chile, and we were all kind of like, wait what just happened. something special about it. nfl network had "top 10 catches of 2014" last night and this catch was numbers three, two, and one.

also vag those are funny. i'd seen the adam-god one before but not the others.

i was in california with my brothers. we went to the coast, where there were some steep hills leading down to a kind of shallow, rocky beach. i guess it was kind of an inlet, or at least a place where the ocean cut a deep V into the hills. we were surrounded mostly by hills. anyway, there were a TON of people there, both on the beach and in the water. brothers and i started swimming among the crowd, making our way from one tip of the V down toward the bottom of it. as we got closer to the bottom i looked up into the hills and there were three grizzly bears among the trees, about 100 feet. one of the bears was fucking one of the other ones. people started noticing and pointing and this big group of african-american people and this big group of chinese tourists got out of the water and started walking toward the bears. i should point out that these bears were ENORMOUS, much bigger than even real-life grizzlies. i was like, f that, and started swimming the other direction, and thinking to myself, man all those people are toast.

then there was a weird image of a small person, a really big person with a cartoonishly big head, and then the huge bear sitting next to each other on a ridge.

some NFL linemen do ballet or other types of dance to work specifically on being light on their feet. they have to be really quick in really small spaces. and those guys are enormous, 140-150kg. not exactly the most naturally twinkle-toed population, you'd think. but they're so agile.

WEIGHT: ???
SORENESS: glutes, hams
ACHES/INJURIES: left shoulder a little, left felt weird but not painful. just a little tight maybe. went away after i got warm
MENTAL STATE: good

- warm up
did a bunch of full-court lay ups. fun times, these are good for conditioning. if i ever do a conditioning block i think it'd be fun to throw these in, work up to sets of 20 or something.

- bench 200 x 6,6

- pull up x 6; +10 x 5,5
first time doing weighted pull ups in a long time.

- circuit x 4
-- push up x 12
-- inverted row x 12
-- decline sit up +15 x 10

- stretch

i like that high-volume stuff. feels good, challenging without pushing my shoulder or low back in unsafe ways.

WEIGHT: ??
SORENESS: none
ACHES/INJURIES: left shoulder, head but milder than yesterday
MENTAL STATE: okay

- warm up

- DLRVJ x a few
one size 3 ball dunk, which may be the first time i've been able to do that two days in a row. or at least the first time i've done it two days in a row. that's a PR. first couple of jumps felt good but the dropoff was precipitous.

- squat 225 x 6,6
easy-peasy, no back discomfort at all.

- superset x 2
-- RDL 275 x 10
used straps. this was challenging. good.
-- toes to bar x 6
that's as long as i can go while still protecting the left shoulder. still pleased that i could do them at all.

- stretch

well it wasn't quite at my wrist, or like at the seam between wrist and palm. it was a PR-tying jump, i think. but i've still never been able to fold my hand over the rim if that makes sense.
