So what, you're now focusing on maximal lifts or are you just benchmarking him?

Hm... not sure what to say. I was about to say that's a good indicator of explosive strength but at your strength levels and explosiveness displayed with snatches and cleans, I'm not really sure what your broad jump should be like...

Yea I know it's weird. I grew up playing soccer - almost all right leg, didn't play basketball at all till I was 18 (22 now), and never attempted jumping till I was 19 so those things could be contributing factors.

Raptor - another guy is jrue holiday. He definitely favors his right leg by a mile but yea not too many.

If you kick with your right leg in soccer, then you rotate on the left leg to kick exactly as in a LR plant. So your natural plant should be LR. However, trying to touch something over head might change the mechanics a bit...

Yeah I just remember how much different of a feeling is after I play 5 on 5 basketball, which I do very rarely. It just feels like the entire leg is fatigued. No muscle groups separation in terms of fatigue or anything. Just the entire leg. It just feels... weird. Probably because of lactic acid or something, and more blood flow. I just feel more elastic when I'm in the middle of a 5 on 5, albeit fatigued enough not to jump well.

What's your max deadlift Andrew? I mean, what was it the last time you tested it?

very nice progress markus, form looked good.

how much weight loss he down to now?

pC

last time he weighed himself he was "only" -11kg. but the tape measure says that he lost more fat than that, so he seems to be building some muscle :strong:

It's weird that he trusts staying in the same room with you. Now that's bravery!

The only right handed guy I know that's jumping from his right leg when dunking is JR Smith...

Oh boy he was really lucky on these! :o ;D

Yeah I'll try it, see what happens. Should be better for my structure for sure. It's for a deadlift what a wide stance squat is for a ... squat :uhhhfacepalm:

i imagine you've gotten:
1. less fit
2. fatter
3. overly strength trained
4. more emo

And you imagine right. The CoolColJ path baby!

Nah, I really need to work on sprints and suicide-like drills/change direction stuff and get lighter. That should be the priority right now and I'm slowly transitioning into that type of work.

Yeah it was visual. He could get about 2 inches over the rim, and then on the 2nd jump, he got almost the whole palm over the rim (definitely over the half of the palm).

28 inches standing vert is nooooot bad at all. Heck, I'm at 28 myself.

Pushing and sprint stance are pretty indicative you "should" plant RL...

Yes it does. I want you to pay attention to your defensive stance, to how you set yourself feet wise to push a heavy object (a car for example), off what leg do you depth drop, with what leg you kick etc. These are all good indicators of what is the "control" or "rotation" leg.

For example, when I defend in the defensive stance, I am positioned in a LR stance so my right arm is forward so I can jump for a block with my right arm forward. When I'm to push a car, I put my left foot forward so I can drive on it, so basically that's also a LR stance. When I depth drop, I drop off the box from the right leg. When I kick, I use my right leg to kick so the left leg is used as a rotation leg (same as in a LR plant).

Like I said, these are good indicators of what your body automatically prefers.
