Is it a MUST to have whey ? NO! But can you really get that much protein through food ? I prefer to get at least 2 gramms per kg of pure protein..Of course not on all days. But you need to figure out what your goals are,how much kcal do you spend etc...And honestly if you want to get the same amount of protein as "animal" protein ( chicken etc) and whey protein powder ,getting raw and real stuff is much more expensive. So the best thing to do is to get a combo of those two... :)

of course you can get enough protein through food. as MrBig said, sort of, a good rule of thumb for minimum protein intake if you're working out regularly is one gram per pound of lean body mass, or 2.2g per kg of lean body mass. say you're 175lbs at 11% bf. oh, hey, that sounds like me. that's 155lbs of lean body mass.

Quote from: meals
breakfast: 4 eggs, 2 cups milk = 67g protein
lunch: chipotle burrito with chicken, beans, cheese, sour cream = 60g protein, 100000000g of deliciousness
dinner: 8 oz. beef, 2 cups milk = 66g protein

total protein = 176g, you've met your requirement for the day

also, whey protein is animal protein. it comes from a fucking cow. whey is nothing more or less than a convenient and inexpensive way to add more protein to your diet. i rely on it more than i should, personally.

also, don't bother with whey protein isolate or fancy shit like that. plain old whey protein concentrate is fine.

just remember that if you haven't made it to 175 in exactly a week, YOU HAVE NOT FAILED.

spine is compressed during these exercises. I prefer to do isometrics with bands or a swiss ball. My old boss said the spine was compresed not too sure

why would that be? i mean your spine is somewhat compressed as long as your torso is upright, but why would those exercises compress it more?

why not allowing weaker limb to dictate reps per set and total reps? my impression has always been that it's better to use the weaker limb as the equalizer, to prevent exacerbation of the imbalance.

cool. first shot reminds me of how awesome dubai looks when you're flying in at night. it's this blaze of light and then utter blackness as far as you can see in every direction. impossible to tell what's land and what's water.

sick.. ya i was expecting you to comment.. how was your experience there? i'd love to visit.. maybe it's not as illustrious as it once was, due to the economy issues, but i dno, looks really cool from all of the vids on utubes.

it's a weird place, man. definitely take a day if you're ever on your way somewhere and go through there, but it's not worth visiting as a destination. too expensive, too weird. the last time i was there and actually left the airport, i went to the mall they have with an INDOOR SKI SLOPE. here's a pic, it goes up and to the left out of this frame. costs like $60 for a "lift ticket" and it's legit snow. people are in parkas and shit. i got a beer with my coworker in a bar that has the exact view of the picture below and watched the strangeness of arab snowboard assholes buzzing people while it's 110 degrees outside.

nice on the msem squats, how explosive were the 320's ?

also, you found out any info on a new gym yet?

pC!

they felt slower and heavier than i feel like they should have, but not slow enough to be grindy at all. more like i just couldn't maintain form, concentration was off somehow. suffice it to say i won't add weight next time and will hopefully be in a better state of mind.

as far as new gym, i'm leaning toward the really expensive place because i think it's got the best chance of court availability. will try to get on a month-to-month setup there so i can leave if i hate it. either way i'm holding out at my gym as long as possible.
