Plan: no gym this weekend, going to gym daily for 2-3 hours for last month(?) has taken a toll. No caffeine this weekend either. Going to relax and chill.

nice tho.. listen to your body/fatigue - learning that stuff is pretty much the most important thing you can do. taking 2-3 days off, you'll come back recharged.. if you keep burning out frequently though, might need to get in a few more rest days (per ~10-14 day period) or eat more after you train.. it could be an accumulation of the sessions, or literally one session which goes overboard, that's causing most of the fatigue.

also, ~3 hour gym sessions could potentially be a bit overboard.. how long do you lift in those 2-3 hour sessions? With lifting, I like the 1 hour or less rule.

Chicken breast and small thigh skinless baked, raw carrots, spinach, broccoli, almonds garlic, few spore peppers

40 in svj diet.....

nice :headbang: def healthy.

those garlic cloves in there? if so, :highfive:

i loook soo skinny in the gym mirrors its deflating lol. really makes me wanna get my bodyweight up to 95kg. Hmm. If only i wasn't fat id go for it :/

the cure for me, regarding physique, has always been "big legs". If my legs are big, I seem to not care about what's going on with my upper body.. big legs also imply i'm more powerful etc. so it's almost like a primal switch you can flip in your brain.

I took several physique selfies when I was dunking, being lean felt good but, knowing my legs were disproportionally big felt even better. I didn't take any physique selfies when I was running... got skinny all over, didn't enjoy it (physique-wise) that much.

high rep moderate intensity squatting makes legs big real quick.. plus it's a lighter load on the spine which is cool.. just can't let form break down obviously.

regardless, some occasional bodybuilding style sessions where you try and pump everything up to the max isn't a bad thing.. it's actually pretty fun and might help.. trick: only look in the mirror after that session.. :) :ninja:

Lubin schools him imho .. Lubin is nice.

beautiful body shots:

this sparring session is worth watching.. it's kind of nuts.. Love really wants to quit.. and Lubin wants to bang.. So Lubin goes easy on him, then hard, then easy, it's just odd.. Love holds like crazy. Lubin can tell this dude is way out of his league, but he's trying to push him.

really great video.

bw = 161

soreness = not much, barely quads/calves.
aches = left calf and right hamstrings were a bit tight before running - weird.. then that disappeared.. during run, left quad got tight early on then disappeared.. right foot a bit during walk/run, also after - stretched it slightly by kneeling down while on my forefoot the day, which seemed to make it achy.

carbed up w/ supplement + english muffin b4 run, watermelon last night

walk/run: at the beach
- no read, too many people & unfamiliar spot. incredible how many people were running, walking, cycling .. hundreds.
- 10.39 mi in 2h48m
- the 0.18 mi @ 4:19 min/mi was pretty fast.. should have kept going a bit but was running from street light to street light. I think that's the fastest i've run since coming back from injury. That's also similar to my ~0.25 mi @ 4:12 min/mi when I burned myself out in that X-mas mile race.
- the 0.34 @ 6:10 min/mi directly after that, felt so easy.. was like a "first gear run". It's interesting how easy running feels after you run a really fast interval.. dat potentiation tho.

pretty fast this session.. speed getting back to normal. once speed is back to normal, the idea is to just keep pushing it. I want my legs to just keep experiencing low to mid 4 min/mi paces.

I feel "big" right now.. doesn't seem like i'm dropping weight too easy right now, seems to come right back on.. anyway, not going to force it. If I can keep more muscle on and still lean up slowly, I think i'd rather do that than get really skinny. When I was hitting all of my PR's in running, I was under 150, mostly around 147-148 or so.. But I was running every day. With this new system, not sure what will happen with my weight.. but my legs feel like they are "getting bigger" instead of getting lighter, so that's interesting. If I lose some upper body mass & fat, and my legs stay the same or get bigger, i'll basically be back to my dunking physique instead of my running physique ..... i'll take it.

goals:
- fast mile
- rvj / dunk

pretty "simple" :ninja:

just a photo from this morning, the beach b&w.

found a hoop I want to dunk on eventually, as part of the 1-800-air-jesus series.

really nice hoop..

some decent meal from the other day:

7 PM

light workout:
- ng pullups: BW x 8
- full dips: BW x 10
- paused reverse fly: no weight x 20
- standing straight leg lift: x 20
- standing straight leg abduction: x 20
- calf raises: BW x 25

i'll start bringing back these light workouts throughout the day.
- restrictions: just 1 set per exercise, per session
- no weights
- just using this to get in a little extra muscle stimulation going on .. slow strength gains
- not going to go crazy with these sessions like I was a few months ago .. going to take it easy

motivation zero. couldn't force myself even to warm up and stretch. odd.

vagus nerve exercise wrecked you.

interesting theory. why do you say that? it hasn't messed with me in the past, that i'm aware of. but it did feel different from normal on wednesday.

hah, was just a hunch, not based on much.

just reminds me of toying with something like high box depth drops out of nowhere and you just feel haywire for a few days.

TJ (mma) vs Lomachenko, light sparring.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4-wI2btneY

Lomachenko is so smooth.

also, lomachenko might be able to wrestle:

says intense sparring, but it's more moderate intensity sparring.. still good footage because of the # of rounds, plus they bring someone fresh in at 28 minutes.. which seems like the goal of the session.

Nice, they will be showing it on the bbc channels and online. Excited.

cool! ya me too.

Bolt not doing the 200m as he sees the risk of losing it is quite high. Should be exciting.

guh that sux.. all the more reason he should be running 200m.

100m prospects: degrasse, gatlin (little to some chance), yohan blake recovering well, new american talent and usain bolt.

Then you have van neekirk and his blasting away the competitions in the 400m and breaking records. I don't see kirani james or the american guy keeping up with him.

ya curious to see how WVN performs. that was an unreal performance last olympics.

if you have the "olympics channel", which I just found out I have, they will be showing it all on there.

given an equivalent percentage of 1RM relative to the ROM, i'd definitely say quarters feel more horrible (draining, risky): there's not much "stretch reflex", it's more of a knee driven reversal rather than hip driven, it's extremely hard to descend with speed and reverse it early - without your joints actually helping you like they do in a full squat, and you feel like you could snap in half if you go just a little bit too far down.

as far as energy goes, there's probably some good data out there - based on ROM/tempo/% 1RM etc.

you can get some really good rebound coming out of the bottom of a full squat, it feels good that's for sure. you can achieve a similar feeling with half squat as you get better with it. The game changes alot as you go up above half squats. that's assuming you're going very heavy on everything..

if you're hitting quarters/halfs with lighter loads, the movement should feel really good.
