Boxing / Re: 05/27/2017: Spence Jr. vs Brook
« on: May 27, 2017, 10:01:37 pm »
what a fight.. damn!!!!

seifullaah73 you see it?

spoiler:

Spence didn't even look sharp either.. He started out rusty, got sharper as the fight went on. His power is legit. If he touches you, damage. And man you just have to love his vicious body attack. He is committed to destroying the body, love it. I think that's what really did Brook in, he just couldn't handle some of those body shots, which had him dropping his hands alot more in the later rounds & Spence was able to land some uncontested shots. Then obviously that eye injury/accumulated damage just did him in. Brook is a beast & has a ton of heart, but you can see Spence is on another level.

Absolutely love UK fans, so much energy.

Someone that is faster and more explosive has the edge during crunch time, because his fatigued state is still faster/higher than say someone less exposive's fatigued state.

See this is the problem with thinking that basketball players will be super strong. Someone that is less fatigued overall will be in a better position to make smarter decisions and less turnovers than someone stronger who is more fatigued.

yup. conditioning & skills pay the bills in most team sports.

Having said that I saw something recently where Steph Curry trap bar deadlifted 400. Not strong for an elite athlete but it certainly surprised me.

very strong for an NBA player his height/weight, definitely. Relative to his BW, it's probably elite level among NBA players. NBA athletes also need some kind of height/bw relative measurement too.. You could be 240 lb with a 900 foot wingspan, making things like T-BAR DL and BENCH much more difficult.

All I know about Curry, is he can hit 3-pointers from ~15 ft behind the NBA 3-pt line with accuracy, in the 4th quarter.  :ibsquatting:  :ninja:

75 points at the half for CLE.. kinda nuts.

BOS actually has a slightly above normal amount of points at halftime. lol.

i would die, those things are no joke.

yeah me2. What's the hardest one you've ever closed?

I forget if i've ever gotten the #1 in my right hand.. I've gotten my T (Trainer) and filed down trainer. I don't think i've ever gotten a clean #1 close, especially not a no-set close.

One of my former neighbors was an electrician, could close the #1 easy, first try.. vice grip.

How do you all think Lonzo Ball will do in the NBA?

not as well as lavar ball thinks he will.

well said.. hah.

I think lonzo will form into a solid player in the NBA, as long as he doesn't let the hype crush him. He's a decent 3pt shooter, good vision (assists), pretty athletic, good all around skills. He's got more of an "NBA style", me-first break down a D + create, ie he'll do better in the NBA vs NCAA. He's not going to come in and make a huge impact right away though IMHO.. He's going to need to get used to the speed difference. Players like De`Aaron Fox with NBA speed have locked him down on D. So he's going to have to get used to it, which I think he will.
