Boxing / 12/10/2016: TONS OF GOOD BOXING
« on: December 10, 2016, 07:43:08 pm »
tons of fights..

most notably, crawford / molina jr.. that should be a good fight, but crawford should be able to put him away.. molina jr is really tough & hard to KO, but he's also fairly easy to hit.. can't imagine he'll be able to survive against crawford.

also mares is fighting.

- total volume: ~7 miles
- from strava description:

quads were a bit dead to start the session, but still had decent speed.. quads/hamstrings are completely dead right now, following the session. Tomorrow = rest, monday = 1 km repeats (i think) with jog back recovery to prepare for Wednesday's mile race. I need to make sure my quads recover by wednesday, so might not push it HARD on monday.. dno yet. :D overall happy with the speed; I want to keep everything under 5 min/mi for the most part... trying to get my legs used to generating that power & absorbing that force.

- decent session.. legs toast right now.. this is good stuff!!!

:ibrunning:

- tuesday = rest
- wednesday = 1-mile race
- thursday = speed
- friday = rest
- saturday = 5k race maybe?
- sunday = rest

if I do a 5k on saturday .. need to figure out which one.. there's a bunch of jingle bell jogs, so, should probably figure that out soon.. i kind of want to just go in and try to pace myself more and see what happens - then end with a fast mile.. dno.

might not do it though.. been going to sleep late.. how am i going to wakeup for that? kinda screwing myself by staying up late.

felt exciting just reading about ur run.

I can imagine u having a smile on ur face, when people start flying by you...

hah! funny you say that: I remember smiling when I was smoking every1 - knowing it wouldn't last, and a little after people started passing me.

speed:  5 x (4 x 100m, 1 x 200m) + jog back recovery (MAX LAPS REACHED), 2 x (5 x 100m) + jog back recovery
- total volume: ~5.4 miles
- great session
- maxed out my laps key .. apparently the watch doesn't like more than 50 laps, it breaks.. had to start a new session.  :derp:
- quads a bit dead and hip flexor a little sore today but, hip flexor felt ok during the speed stuff.. felt the quad soreness though
- focused on low-to-mid 4 min/mi paces
- hit a top speed of ~16 mph when I pushed it on one of the 100's.
- i was hitting relaxed 16's for 100m (with accel) by the end.. which is really good. I need to keep improving this power and increasing volume so that my legs can handle some serious pace.
- saturday I might do a ton of 400's
- i'm also going to start resting after sessions like these... walk rest tomorrow.. that way i can push myself alot harder during these speed sessions.

Food

7 PM

- 2% milk

Food

- some stacy's pita chips

tomorrow = walking rest.. and not pushing the pace walking, nice and light.

right hip flexor is a bit more tight .. both quads are tight/sore.

need to sleep ASAP, i'm extremely tired.

hah! he's the guy on the left.. so I raced with him before, didn't know it.. funny. I remember he was really nice.
