I think it might just be that I was more, um, vocal today. Also she worked on my quads (VMO in particular), which is an especially bad area for me. Didn't hit those last week. Anyway...

warm up
shoulder/thoracic spine mobility

work
bench 3x5x195 (4th rep of each set sucked -- wobbly and lost focus and had to re-do on the final set)
DB row 3x8x70ea

cool down
stretch

The therapist said I was tighter today than last week.  :(  I've been good all week about foam rolling and such, too.

Short rim, obviously. The promoters have every reason to let the dunkers do the most ridiculous shit possible. Ergo, a 9'6" or 9'8" rim.

nice i like your basketball log!

u b ballin son.

thanks i thought it was a good idea and its not cock-blocking the training journals

^^^ Word. Where do you play? Also, you took 16 FT on 8 FGA in your last game?!?!? That's pretty nuts. Unless you meant that you were driving really well from 9-16 feet (which would be a bit strange). I like this journal, looking forward to see how you do this summer. Good luck.

First of all, fuck Ohio and fuck Cleveland. They can both go fuck a duck. But I wanted LeBron to be great, and now he's shown the world that he's not good enough, in his own mind, to win it all on his own on a good team. He needs to have his hand held. That's a pretty giant letdown.

LeBron sucks, what a pussy. Him going to Miami is him basically admitting that he's not great like Jordan or Kobe. Bill Simmons nailed it on ESPN this morning: Bron is gonna be a super-Pippen to Wade's Jordan. And because Bron is so gifted and COULD win titles with, say, the Bulls (more titles, even!) as the lone superduperstar, him going to Miami is him basically admitting defeat, admitting that he's not good enough.

LeBron James, I am disappoint.

More trigger point therapy tomorrow morning and also just made an appointment for conventional PT for next week on the recommendation of a teammate of mine who also has chronic ankle stuff. Apparently this dude is really good, so we'll see how that goes.

God damn it, I'll get healthy yet...

where are you from again?

^^^ Even me, setting PR's in how much I suck. I wouldn't worry too much about SVJ (although it doesn't sound like you are). The point is to dunk and only really tall people, great lifters and total freaks of nature can dunk from a standstill.

re: Krazy Glue. Also a well-known way for rock climbers to fix torn fingers when they're on a multi-day climb. Disinfect the gash, pour some krazy glue in, wrap in medical tape, and you're good to go.

Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: THE DREAM JOURNAL
« on: July 07, 2010, 12:19:24 pm »
Last night I dreamed that I was hanging out with my little brother at the beach, and I said that line from "Supa Dupa Fly" where she goes, "Beep beep, who got the keys to the jeep? Vrrrrrooooom" and my brother pretty much lost his mind from laughing so hard. Not sure why he thought it was so funny, although that IS a great line.

Seems to be a lot of laughter in my dreams recently.  ;D

Just cause I want to have access to it later, here's a tight thread on Charlie Francis' forum about training for soccer: http://www.charliefrancis.com/community/showthread.php?t=15334&page=7. Link is to page 7 cause it was about then that I realized that I'm gonna want to go back to this.

If anyone happens to read it, I corresponded briefly with duxx a few months back. He passed along an updated version of the paper he wrote on his soccer training philosophy. He seemed happy to share them freely, so I can pass them if anyone wants.
