No, it is NOT. The ref actually smiles and pretty much says "good job" at 3:16.

Why it's OK for the refs to be bad at their jobs but for the coaches it isn't?

It's not the refs job to teach those guys how to actually play basketball and how to act on the floor. It is the coach's job to do that in practice and in the games. Coach allowed it to happen. Yes, the refs sucked by not doing anything about it in the actual game. But still, all on the coaches. They set the examples for these young players.

You're a fucking idiot.

Haha, you told me. Nicely done. I humbly accept defeat and acknowledge your superiority. Well said, never in the entire existence of the internet has anyone been so verbally demolished. This pain and guilt I will wear on my shoulder the rest of my life.

Congratulations, today is your fucking day.

I was there. Easily the most electric play of the night. They showed the replay about 5x and the OOOHHHs got louder each time. I was about 10 rows up to the left of the camera view so I had perfect seats. Amazing play all around.

Little late but here's my entry. Dunk off one step and power dribble.

Edit: Forgot my stats. 6'5" w/ shoes. 8'2" standing reach w/ shoes. I stood under the rim with my arm up to show roughly what the height of the rim is.

Few days late to posting the thread, my bad. The idea here is for those of us who like dunking to have something to work on. Heck, I only have a few dunks I can do well so after a couple months I'm going to have to really work on other dunks if I still want to enter. So here we go.

Rules:
- Must have your legitimate measurements posted (height & standing reach are all required)
- Try to provide a picture of you standing under the rim with your arms up to give us an idea of the rim height. (#)
- If the rim is low, just tell us. It's not a huge deal as long as it's only maybe an inch or two low. We understand not everyone has access to a legit 10' rim. Just be honest about it. There are no real prizes here so there is no gain by cheating saying you're not on a low rim.
- Only 1 Dunk per video. Don't post a highlight reel and say to choose one. Just 1 dunk.
- 1 entry per person per contest.

# = I won't require this in January as a lot of people probably don't have this done on their recent dunk videos. Starting in February though it will be a requirement.

Okay, start posting away. I'll get mine up tomorrow.

LOL, I'd love to play against that fat kid.

I actually agree. What I wouldn't have given to have a guy play like that against me more often. There's so many ways to just flat out embarrass a kid like that. Not to mention, I'd have score 50 with the free throws I'd have gotten. I wouldn't want him thrown out if he was against me. I'd just collect all 5 fouls against him and go on my way.

The trick against players like that is to not leave the ground. If you're tough enough you can take a shove or a punch but if you jump and leave your feet then you're in trouble.

"All" blame?

How about the refs?

Nope. 100% on the coach. The refs are bad at their jobs but with the exception of the one where he pulls the kid down you can make the argument that all the others were "basketball plays" in the essence that he was either going for the ball or it happened due to the nature of the play. Of course, I don't believe that AT ALL but if you want to get technical about it then it's the truth.

The blame goes 100% on the coach. Despite being in high school (I'm guessing) and should be old enough to know better, kids are just stupid. I don't blame the kid. Heck, the coach probably told him to play physical. Fact is, if that coach lets that kid stay out there and play like that he is only encouraging it.

All blame on the coach.

Well we haven't started yet guys. Haha. I'll create a new thread the first week of January and we'll have our first contest. Here's what I'm thinking.

1. One Contest A Month.
2. 3 weeks to enter dunk.
3. Video (or picture from same angle) must show you standing under the basket with your full reach + list your measurements. This will be so we can get a semi-accurate measurement of rim height. We can't have people trying to dunk on 9'8" goals without listing it.
4. 1 week to vote after entry.
5. One entry per contest.
6. Person with most votes wins.

Simple as that. We have no prizes. Just bragging rights.

Seem like that would work?

He'll be a great D1 backup pg. His ceiling looks to be JJ Barea at most.

The problem i see is that this dude's got some really small hands compared to john stockton or cp3.  He's got the court vision and skills but when you have small hands its hard to make some of the tougher dishes.

Agreed. Plus I'm not too confident in his scoring ability. To be an effective PG you need to be able to score 8-10ppg now in the big D1 schools or else teams can key off of you on D and take away from your team offense. But this is just from watching a few highlight videos. Besides, he can't be too bad as he's playing on a quality Oak Hill team. Hope he does well.

Anyone up for doing a regular dunk contest online? Maybe every two weeks or monthly? Last few days of every contest people will vote on winners. Could make some rules or something up. You'd have to post legit measurements of the height of the rim you're dunking on, and you'd only enter 1 dunk per contest (that way you can enter/win multiple over time instead of wasting all your dunks for one contest).

Just a thought. We could iron out more details but just curious if anyone is interested.

Nutrition & Supplementation / Re: Compression Clothing

I stole...I mean, borrowed my brothers compression shorts that have the pads on the hipflexor area and front of the thighs. They really help when playing hard to absorb a few of the extra blows and falls. Good stuff there.
