This disease in my left knee haven't been bothering me for about 3 years now, but it resurface after I did some atg squats, with strict form and weightlifting shoes (risto sports)). The pain is on the spot on the knee where I have the disease. :( Does anybody has any advice on how I'll strengthen my left knee, prehab or rehab? My right knee is fine when doing this kind of squat. I also notice that my left femur bone is shorter than my right and my left sheen bone is longer than my right. Hay. I hate my anatomy.

BTW, the pain disappears after a day or two.

Article & Video Discussion / Pain in high bar squatting
« on: March 10, 2012, 04:35:10 am »
I'm now trying to change my low bar squat to a high bar so that I could olympic squat more properly. The problem is, it hurts so much. Will the pain vanish as like how the pain in early low bar positioning gives after some time? Or will it not? Giving a conclusion that some are really born to do high bar squatting?

Injury, Prehab, & Rehab talk for the brittlebros / Elbow pain
« on: May 07, 2011, 11:28:23 pm »
I've felt this elbow pain after doing close grip Bench press. But I'm doing that exercise for several weeks now. I really think the source of my pain comes from my PE class, jiu jitsu. That class is full of grapling. I think my muscles in my fore arm (muscles that contracts the fingers) are tight. I tried to strecth those muscles but my elbow still has pain.

Strength, Power, Reactivity, & Speed Discussion / Imbalances
« on: April 04, 2011, 04:07:08 am »
I hate the feeling I get when, after my squatting, I only feel my right leg worked out. During Squat I really try engage my left leg but when the weight gets heavier or when the rep is getting higher, my mind is telling my body to shift the weight to my right. I tried to overload my left leg on uni laterals but  I think the imbalance is getting much bigger. My right quads is huge compared to my left.

Any idea how to minimize imbalance during squatting? and in general? What type of exercise is the best to do so?

Nutrition & Supplementation / Soy Milk!!!
« on: January 23, 2011, 11:06:15 am »
I am Lactose Intolerance and I get diarrhea 2-3 hours after drinking milk. Is Soy Milk a good substitute for a post work-out drink? I can't afford, for now, protein shake(whey protein) but I'm currently saving up for it.

I frequently feel sleepy and tired even after doing the specified warm-up  because I need to study ( :-X ) that's why I didn't have enough sleep. What is better, drink a coffee (or other drinks that pump up an athlete) and risk having longer recovery period or push through with the training until you feel awake and risk having less results on that training? Or are there other ways to be more awake?

After my up hill sprints, I got a little pain at my right side of my hip but didn't bother me that much. But the next day after doing the tempo runs and Burpees my Hip started to ache so much. I could walk but some angles made by my leg could cause me severe pain. What rehabilitation techniques could you advise me? I really want to continue my training but at this rate and at this pain, It's impossible. Please help.... :(

Strength, Power, Reactivity, & Speed Discussion / Buttocks
« on: December 25, 2010, 09:55:41 am »
I know that every muscle in our legs plays an important role in vertical jumping but is the buttocks more important than the quadriceps in the VJ movement, specifically in the concentric phase? Like what KellyB's article states?http://www.higher-faster-sports.com/noglutes.html

I'm 17 yrs old and currently squatting 235lbs. I'm a bit worried that my spine may get injured. I feel a little pain in the joints of my spine when I arch my back extensively. May be the pain is normal and all of the things I feel are all in my head. I need your opinion. I see to it that my form in squatting is good.

Or may be it's because of my bed? I just slept last night on the floor but my back feels the same way.

Introduce Yourself / Hello there!
« on: December 22, 2010, 01:05:43 am »
Hello! I'm Kokoy, well as you can see on my username, and I'm a Filipino. I'm 17 yrs old. I want to bust the stereotypes and myths that we Filipinos (and Asians) can't jump high (except for the tall guys)! That's one of my goals in life, to have 45+ inch vertical, and to be an inspiration for my friends and countrymen.

I did VJB with good results, around 5 inches in 5 months. I'm doing VertFreak 2.0 now for my first week and will know that i will gain much from it. I'm just a bit worried though Adam Link is a very nice guy but all of his marketing hype and promotion of Squatflex has destroyed his reputation. As Abraham Lincoln said, "If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens you can never regain their respect and esteem. It is true that you may fool all the people some time; you can even fool some of the people all the time; but you can't fool all the people all the time". That's why I'm losing confidence on him. But still he gives free coaching in facebook and twitter.  :)

I am personally gratified as what this forum is aiming to do, giving free and reliable information for those who can't afford the programs that are sold in the internet. I too can't afford those prices but managed to save some money for 3 months or so, to buy Vertfreak 2.0. And I know it will work. By the way I got VJB for free, if anyone wants it you can mail me ;).
