switched from leg press to squats today.     :ibsquatting:
squats are much harder!! i was squatting 180 and it was challenging. to leg press 250 was definitely easier.
i may not have even been going low enough.
is it bad if i feel pain in the base of my spine?  i felt that at some point.

and should i be putting my weight towards the FRONT of my  foot, or towards the back?

i suspect the reason i jammed my arm in clip #2 is because i'm taking off at an angle, but i have no idea. it hurt

btw i was very sleep deprived and tired, i need to follow adarquis guidelines for jump day eating, like 12 bananas .. i guess the only reason i didnt is because im not eating sugar during the week except after workouts =|  "slow carb diet" to cut fat

I have noticed that on some days my breathing is really deep and well timed and it just helps me push through tons of more weight  :personal-record:

But I don't know what I'm doing... some days I do the right thing and 90% of the time I am just randomly breathing

What is the right way to breathe while lifting?

(I am looking to train the same muscles as a ham curl)

I have access to other machines and free weights  :strong: but my gym does not have a ham curl machine.

It's ok though since it's otherwise a free gym provided by the city... :)

I am happy to be here.  My goal is to get up to speed on jump training information and get the basics HANDLED before I move on to anything advanced.

I am 23 years old, a web developer from california. I started playing ball when I was a sophomore in college age 19.  All my life I did not consider myself an athlete but in college I started working out and I found a natural love for basketball, to play made me feel very peaceful.  I also love dedicating myself to the process of improvement and in deliberate practice.  Also being tall at 6'3" it gave me a head start that I badly needed!

So here I am, working hard in all areas of my life, and trying to get to the next level in my basketball game.  I have dreamed of dunking for a long time, even before I started playing basketball and even before I remotely considered it possible, but now I do see it as possible for myself.. I am not gifted athletically but I am tall and I possess a sick work ethic.

I found this website through Jacob Hiller, I bought Jacob's manual and friended him on Facebook, and on Facebook he posted a link to one of Darqui's videos. A bunch of kids started hating on him so I knew that he had something sick.. I've spent the past few days watching the adarqui videos on YouTube, I gotta say  :headbang: they are fucking hilarious

Anyway I'm happy to be here.  Nice to meet yall.

P.S. My journal thread is HERE
