ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Long jump
« on: April 19, 2012, 07:20:41 pm »
Hey Lance, it's spring again, so I started for over a month now training for the long jump besides strength training and dunks/basketball , I trained as I always do with acceleration work, a few 70% runs (>100 m), bounds, pen drill, some hurdles, pogos ,broad jumps and of course long jumping itself.

After starting with some 5 step approaches, I used what you taught me (start from the take off point and sprint backwards and mark where I can jump from) and did 35 meter approaches for the first time, also doing some PR jumps (around 23 feet), and I want to get comfortable with these longer runs and go as close as I can towards 26 feet (seems very far right now). I'm using the sail technique right now, and have no landing what so ever, I land like in the broad jump.

The question I have, besides what I already do right now, what drills would you recommend me so I can transition more easily into a longer approach, and what drills do you think can help me with the take off and flight phase. After I will get all of these I'll ask about landings too, but it doesn't make any sense to think about that right now.

Here's the dunk contest. Seems on the dunk over three I managed to touch someone's shoulder  :uhhhfacepalm: and on the second try on the double pump over a guy (the made one) I kicked him with my knee in the head  :-X Also the dunk taking the ball from 11 feet was actually a lay-up after 3 misses  :wowthatwasnutswtf: :-X

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Basketball In-season training
« on: September 28, 2011, 07:38:01 pm »
Okay, so basketball season started and I have three practices a week Monday Wednesday and Friday in the evening (20:30 PM)
I usually do lifts Tuesday and Thursday, one day upperbody one day Squats and Deadlifts.
The question is how should i train and what should i focus on the days i'm not practicing.
Keep in mind that Saturday or Sunday will be game day soon.
I was thinking of doing another day of lifting on the day not game day, but that means i can't do dunks in that day because the gym is only open for 2 hours at lunch time during weekends.
So what do you think?

Basically a movie about Nootropics, but considering a new pill contains everything concentrated and acts instantly.
It really was a nice film, i enjoyed every minute of it.

Basketball / Guy Dupuy rider over car + appreciation for Romania

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8OCf7J47yk" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8OCf7J47yk</a>

Even though that dunk is unthought of, and when i was doing that in nba 2k9 i was laughing with Raptor and joking thinking, "yeah, like that's gonna happen", when i see it, it doesn't impress me at all. I think Dupuy's or even Shal's one handers over the car look way better than that between the legs. I like to see power, an upright position and hard dunks, not weird technique dunks, but that's just me...
