Pics, Videos, & Links / is my 36.9 standing vert legit ??
« on: March 31, 2012, 02:09:33 am »
what's up guys

got a PR standing vert of 1.5 inches , which is enormous for me

my concern isn't so much over the accuracy of the mat, but rather the way i jumped.  Previously when i tested my vert on the mat i would jump and just swing up both arms.  This time what i did was try to touch an object with 1 arm, while keeping the other relaxed.   I'm unsure if part of the PR height was  because i jumped and only reached up with one arm which made me land slightly leg bent, or if the jump was really legit and jumping while trying to touch an object really did help me jump significantly higher

usually i think Poliquin's articles are interesting and informative

the main point of the article is  dfferent people respond best to different types of training

article was weird though he assigned it to the 5 physical states in chinese medicine

Basketball / nba ball is starting to annoy me
« on: April 17, 2010, 08:33:20 pm »
i used to follow nba ball and the players like no other, but i'm at a point now where i'm not that impressed with the players/game.  I still enjoy watching, but find most of the games/teams, just aren't that good.  The players are not that athletic.  football seems to be where all the real athletes are at

i don't know why they take 16 teams into the nba playoffs, over half the teams, there are not 16 good teams and in ball your not gonna have these huge upsets, at most they should take lke 12 teams, eight would probably be better.  if you pick it out, each season there are only 2-3 title contenders.

You know the heat, bucks, bulls, etc aren't gonna do shit in the playoffs even if they somehow do win the first round

hey guys, i got a blood test recently, most of the values are probably pretty normal, but i have  a decent amount not in the normal range.  I figured it would be pretty cool if i posted them up and we analysed them, that is if anybody knows how to read them and understand everything.  So, anybody know how??????

if so i'll post up the results

Introduce Yourself / Adarq bio?
« on: February 28, 2010, 01:49:49 am »
hey adarqui, wondering if you could put a bio, i'm pretty sure you have given short bio and info about yourself, i was wondering if you could give the long version.  Something i've been wondering is how do you guys get to that level where your training pros and all that?  Like how do you guys get so knowledgeable and get into these high class positions , is it just reading and researching, or has it been like learning from someone else.   How do you go from just bs college or ms to a few years later training pros and olympians.  For instance, eric cressey, he got his bs, then went to uconn for his ms, and then already started writing articles for tnation, and then a couple years later already had his own place and was training pro athletes.  How do you guys go from just like college to that level, and how are you guys so good so fast, i would think you would need to start low follow and learn from people and keep workign your way up slowly, and then eventually you would have a lot of experience and knowledge, and start getting the big opportunities, but it doesn't seem to work that way.

sup guys

i'm not really understanding how the penultimate step works

in terms of jumping technique

so whhen i do the 1 legged jump and i want to jump off my left should it be;

in terms of the last 3 steps

take that long step to lower center of gravity with my left leg, then step with my right then  step with my left and jump off of it.  Each step should be faster and faster

off 2 feet if i want to jump left right

long step with right leg, then quick step/jump stop with left leg first and then right leg and jump

i know i didn't write it out well here so if someone can just clarify exaclty how the penultimate step works and how to do it and how the last few steps when jumping off one and 2 feet for height should be
