Pics, Videos, & Links / Your own sport highlighttapes.
« on: August 24, 2012, 08:53:03 am »
'Sup.

Been a while.

Busy nursing my ankle, long story, at about 80% right now, dunking again, even off of two feet.

Meanwhile, since I still don't have a club due to the injury, I made a couple highlighttapes to send out to coaches/teams.
I'd like to share 'em on the site that helped me get a lot better:

Best scorer in the world right now, hands down.

Dropping 66 @ Rucker park a couple days ago:

Skip to 2:55 for an un-edited massacre, dude is an absolute monstrosity.

Bonus:
One day later, dropping 41 and hitting the game-winning three, wack D tho.

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Core Power - Barbell rollout progression.
« on: June 28, 2011, 06:20:22 am »
Lance, Andrew

I'd like to know your thoughts on improving core power aside from compound exercises.
I feel my core is my weak point and am doing my barbell rollouts/med ball throws religiously, but I haven't been seeing much progression in these exercises though; I can still only do a barbell rollout kneeled (about 20 easy) and am still at the same ammount of med ball throws 'till failure.

What's your oppinion on the progression of these lifts? The core contains the same type of muscles your whole body does, so progressive resistance and gradually more difficult exercses seems best to me.
I'd like to be able to do a standing barbell rollout and have found a couple of good video's, but I'd like to know your oppinion first.

In conclusion, doing compound lifitng requires a huge ammount of core work, but I think sufficient additional core work (more than the barbell rollouts + med ball throws) or even a 'core day' wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Thoughts?

These dudes can straightout RAP mang.

Ever since they dropped Taste I've been keeping a close eye on these guys.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epK8oAZhkJ0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epK8oAZhkJ0</a>
This murdered my mp3 player back in the days.

Then dudes dropped Church league champions, which was extremely nice and had a couple of flashbacks to the 90's + some gritty come-up type of lyrics:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq3XJJOd5vo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq3XJJOd5vo</a>
Whole mixtape is amazing, definately download it:

After that came the Don't Mention it, couple of real dope tracks, laid backness, fun shit, not as gritty though.

Now they got Mania! out, which is nice and has a few bangs and an overall ok sound, not convinced yet though.

Three Rules

#1 Mindset

READ

Keep in mind that this page is a small but powerfull tool; a tool to look forward and to reflect (w. some added peer pressure) and to basically help you create a map of where you want to go step by step.
You need a start and directions every now and then; if not you'll just swerve off of your track to succes

#2 Get Started

Step 1
Take some time to think of SMART goals.

    * S - Specific (or Significant).
    * M - Measurable (or Meaningful).
    * A - Attainable (or Action-Oriented).
    * R - Relevant (or Rewarding).
    * T - Time-bound (or Trackable).
(more tips on goals on this site)

Step 2
Post your
-current stats
-goals for 2011,
Look forward and check your general schedule for school/work/summer etc (when can you push, when do you maintain?) and  then slash em into
-monthly goals (6" gain = 0,5" jan, 0,5" gain feb)
Post up, I'll put them in the main post.
I will not put you into this post untill you posted up all three points.

Step 3.
Every first day of the month we'll evaluate and update whether or not we made our goals (and why) and update this post.

#3 Go Get it

I ADVISE EVERYONE MAKING THIS TOPIC THEIR STARTING PAGE
1. Adarq.org gets hits = andrews goal gets a step closer every time you start your browser  :highfive:
2. You keep getting confronted w. these goals every time you start off your internet journey (time that could be better spend 90% of the time).
3. You don't forget the monthly review which is vital

LINK

And keep in mind:

plans/goals/future?

The time to make it happen is Now.

Lot's of doucheness in here, but I mean, he can f*cking catch water ( don't try that sh*t at home, you'll mess up the kitchen  :highfive:) and does some insane sh*t near the end.
The fact I could have posted this vid in pretty much all sections made it impossible not to put this up here

Oh, he has tutorials, too

I'm not that big of a skateboarding fan, but I do enjoy the creativity and fearlessness these dudes showcase.

One of the more creative dudes, mixing parcour and skateboarding; William Spencer, ending is pretty sick
