....And a t-shirt.

haha....you forgot to tell him to clean his room too.

I don't see too much hobbling back and forth to be honest.

It's not so much of hobbling back and forth (instability) as it is inefficient bar path.  As he squats down the bar travels forwards as he goes up it travels back.

Good depth.  I think widening your stance a a bit and getting some weightlifting shoes would do wonders for your squat form.

he pulled himself up, obviously. that'd be like a 6-inch PR.

Nope, he just planted different.   It caused a massive actin-myosin spiralling effect.  Isn't it amazing that after all these years of jumping he's discovered the secret to propelling himself to super freak level?

40svj is insane. Would be sweet to see that in person, I don't think vids can do that justice.

I know it's not your primary focus, but how's the rvj coming along?

saw this today, i don't know if it's been posted before. but i thought it was insane; the speed, the plant, the jump, etc.

Nice find. That dude is fast and nice fluid jump mechanics.

^ yes. all my maintenance reps aside from 1RM testing a while ago are all paused. im trying to keep my strength while doing more speed and jump drills. BW also went down from 188-192 to 172-174lb while improving my paused rep to 425x1.

i like paused reps. trains me to really explode and go all out really quick. non-explosive paused rep will slow down too much and get me pinned nicely.

Almost missed this.   Damn impressive... closer to a 3x bw squat than you are to 2x....freak! :o

With your bodyweight coming down are you feeling much change with your vert?

ah, be careful doing anything that flexes the trunk though, I would def keep all abdominal training atm to anti rotational exercises until you figure out the exact issue.
x2.

Wait, you squat 152.5 for 10 reps? :o

Lol i first thought you meant 152 lbs and it was like really less but now i know you meant 336.6 lbs for 10 reps which has me being like  :o also

Thanks SKT2GF, but as I said to Raptor, that weight includes 65kg of chains. At the bottom of the squat it is likely closer to somewhere between 120-130kg. The chains are great, I managed a 1RM front squat with 160kg using the chains and the front squat harness the other day. I will post a video of that soon too for Steven Millers enjoyment  :D

JW

Hey Jack, where did you get the chains from?  Haven't seen ones like that at Bunnings.

Interesting.  A lab I collaborate with just found data that IF in rodents pretty much replicates the long term calorie restriction as far as lifespan, lipid markers, etc.  I like it.  IF is MUCH easier than long term calorie restriction.

TOddday, what would you speculate the mechanism is?

There has to be a coiling/twisting/spiralling element of the myosin filaments to generate great elastic energy.[/b][/size]

Why?

I'm not saying torque in the plant is a good or bad thing, but I don't know why you're married to the idea that there is spiralling going on at the myosin filament.  Do you realize how small a sarcomere is?  How would torque in a plant cause spiralling of myosin?  Doesn't makes sense.
