« on: December 29, 2010, 07:27:31 pm »
Goals by the end of 2011:

Rvj - 40"+
Squat - 240kg (530lbs)
Trap Bar DL - 272kg (600lbs)
Bench - 184kg (405lbs)
Enter a powerlifting comp and win.
Be able to squat ATG.
Improved hip mobility and flexibility.

Current:

Rvj: 36"
Squat - 210kg (462lbs)
Trap Bar DL - 246kg (541lbs)
Bench - 150kg (330lbs)

Seems a little optimistic, especially the bench, but technique needs improving on all lifts which I am currently working on.

Had to go into windows movie maker for this to increase the brightness as the gym was too dark. My training partner has a better quality cam so hopefully better quality vids to come.

Lance, what do you think about something like this for upperbody when training to increasing vertical jump :

http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/lactic_acid_training_for_fat_loss

Currently trying to lose some fat, which i have not got a lot to lose. Do you think its counter productive when training for Vertical jump? Done two workouts so far and surprisingly jumped very well the next day after the chest and back day, but was thinking it could make you fell worn out as the weeks progress.

Thanks.

Since i have been eating a low carb diet, i have felt much better than eating high carbs. I am more focused, don't get as tired easily and i am practically jumping out of bed in the morning. Where as before when i was eating a lot of carbs, it took me a few hours to properly wake up when i got out of bed. I am also able to eat more Kcals and get lean, scale weight is pretty much staying the same but body fat is going down. While refeed days are generally good, they do leave my feeling tired and sluggish no matter what type of carbs i consume. Don't think i will go back to a high carb diet, low carb is they way to go IMO as long as Kcals are at maintenance or higher and fat is high.

a better way to look at this is, what do you like eating? what can you easily obtain, to eat? For example, if I was planning on putting on a ton of muscle, I would focus on things I enjoy eating: eggs, milk, meat (steak/hamburger), chicken , broccoli/carrots/spinach/olive oil, kidney beans, bananas, cottage cheese, and a supplement: whey protein (for shakes).. My diet would then pretty much only consist of that, with 1 cheat day per week.

That's what my diet looks like at the moment, minus the milk and bananas, and i am cutting weight just now lol

Well my mom and dad always keep on throwing this "eggs cause liver problems" at me all the time it's getting really annoying.

Probably if you're eating like 20/day.

Dude, i eat 35+ eggs a week and i am fine. Eggs are good, and if you want to build shit tons of muscle eat plenty of them. You cant go wrong with eggs, meat, chicken, green vegies, nuts and fruit.
