Basketball / Rookie AI was so sick....
« on: August 21, 2017, 11:21:13 am »
He was a football player in high school, so he had some decent strength that carried over to bball.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8PeUjppB2k

He looks almost like a wide receiver out there.....

2 handed dunk attempt in traffic at just 5'10 - 5'11 height, some confidence.....

as the years went by, his physique kept degrading until the point he was weak/slow aka useless :'(

if he worked on his athleticism.... wow.... i dunno where the limit is.... he has the sickest physique for speed..... light frame, insane cns, good muscle fibers...

For example yesterday I did some insane volume at heavier weights.

If I were to push myself to the limit and say do the same today while being super stiff and sore..... albeit I don't get injured, would that be beneficial?

Strength, Power, Reactivity, & Speed Discussion / Arm length and muscles
« on: August 11, 2017, 11:47:45 pm »
Because I really like BBALL and I am given opportunity to train talented but clueless bball players, I need my arms to hang as low to the ground as possible because it is very advantageous for bball players to have long arms obv.

What upper body work outs hinder arms from hanging low to the ground? Does any help?

i mean take a look at this guy.... his arms are all bulked up so he'd have a tough time handling the rock especially splitting the defense....

They shoot those chickens with so much steroids and growth hormones that they mature in like 1/5th of their natural time.... I've realized when I eat chicken breast, I recover really well compared to other proteins....

This forum if full of athletes making the best of what they got to work with! :ibsquatting: :ibjumping: :ibrunning: :strong:

Some are at the bottom of the bell curve in terms of natural abilities but have risen to the top from smart training.

Basketball / Chris Lykes is really good.
« on: August 02, 2017, 02:00:48 am »
This guy is so solid for a 5'7 player. No wonder Miami is giving him a scholarship. Probably not 5'7 either, cause a lot of these really short guys like to add a few inches to their listed height.

He is better than all his predecessors imo; aquille carr, trey jefferson, etc. Great elevation+control on his jumpshot.

Nutrition & Supplementation / The Benefits of Eating 1 big meal a day
« on: July 30, 2017, 09:07:43 pm »
So far I have been doing something that seems to work okay.

I would wake up and only eat snacks, take some preworkout or coffee before training, at the most eat a light meal, nothing over 400 Kcal.

Post workout I'd eat some light and solid stuff like protein + fruits/snacks.

Then before bed time, the real meal; chicken, rice, macaroni, beef, potatoes, etc of about 1200-2000 kcal. This also allows you to sleep well with a full stomach. The only problem is that it seems to stretch out my belly like a pregnant woman.

DB arm swings?

I remember a strength coach once said that the bench press benefits sprinting.... I don't see how that can happen. I mean, obviously you don't want to be a scrawny nerd up top where you can't even do 10 pushups....

55
How come I'm starting to feel that way? I remember Raptor felt that way too. It just feels like one exerts more energy having to stop half way than just go all the way down, pause and explode up.

Boxing / Why Don't Boxers use weights much?
« on: July 26, 2017, 02:38:14 pm »
I don't get why they don't spend say, 1/3 of the time building that strength and the rest putting that into speed, power, quickness, accuracy etc?

I see them doing a lot of BW exercises, but don't see them doing weight presses etc. Seems like UFC also like this.

I mean, a OLY sprinter will do cleans, squats, kb swings etc in the weight room and then take it to the track....

Nutrition & Supplementation / I don't think i need creatine
« on: July 22, 2017, 01:37:10 pm »
My goal is to reach 40 in SVJ and 44in RVJ, this will give me a lock at athleticism and a good training position for BBALL program to train elite players that are a bit raw and clueless but talented.

Should I take creatine or not?

I do have some health issues like obesity and very close to getting diabetes. I also had high liver enzymes that is slowly getting better.

80% of my training right now is full paused squats.

I don't think that is optimal. I need to think of some other leg workouts that can benefit me.

My goal is vertical and speed when I get down to sub 10% BF. Right now I am at probably 35% BF, no joke, lol.

the remaining 20% of my workouts are: posterior chain, cable push and pulls light weight, abs, and calf.

I weigh 220 lb and I have a thin bone structure as well.

Anyone have the muscle at their upper back change where the old position of the bar that comfortably goes is now gone, and it starts to be semi painful?

I've been doing some shrugs/facepulls to correct kyphosis and now when I place the bar at upper back it does not feel comfortable anymore and lost the groove i have. I don't ever want to be squatting low bar like those powerlifters.

Should i use a pad?
