People say calf strength and feet strength only account for 10% of speed/vertical.... that seems a bit too low. I'd say it is closer to 15-18%, especially if you have a strong feet and big toe.

I don't care about price, i will save up.

which one should I get? I have wide feet, flat feet due to playing bball while too heavy screwing up my arch.

anyone have experience? my current powerlifts adidas have been roughed up from running sometimes.

Resistance bands on sale, wouldn't it be better to jump squat say 95 LB + 50 LB resistance band than 145 free weight? Cause the free weight bounces up and down.

So at 100kg (220lb) and jumping 1 meter (39.4 inches) based on that calculator on landing it would be 980 joules, which converts to 722.8 lb of force on impact.

Does this sound right?

I'm thinking of switching from whey protein to another type, such as rice protein.

I know that whey is better/faster absorbed by the body than other proteins, however, i believe vegetable proteins may be the healthiest.

I don't believe switching from whey to rice protein will make a difference in my road to 40 in SVJ.

What do you think?

Used to take creatine, stopped training for few years, now not taking creatine..... don't really see any difference w/o it.... any reason i should take it?

I care about health over performance, after all, what good is it to get a 40 SVJ and not have a healthy body?

I don't want to take anything that could have any kind of negative affect to my inner organs....

It supposedly increases your testosterone level, but it also hurts the liver. I used to take it back in 2012 and when I went to get a blood test in 2014, it dramatically increased my liver enzymes (meaning I had some damage to the liver)

Is the use of this similar to fool's gold when trying to achieve  PR's?  Seems like if you can't achieve the same thing without it, than it is not a true PR.

So it looks like I am able to squat 365 lb without too much problem..... the same PR I achieved few years ago (i stopped training for almost 2 years lol)

However the difference is i was 180 that time and now I am 218.

I could probably lose 30 lb in the next 3 months, but will I be able to maintain 365 squat and/or even make some gains?

I smoke about 2 ciggarettes a day. Is that really bad for training? 1 in the morning to wake me up and 1 at night after a meal.

I've tried to quit but the stresses of life gets me back to it.
