That's pretty much what I was getting at. 50kg (110lbs) is massive for anybody, and it is relatively huge for a beginner especially. If you have a guy going from squatting 150lbs to 260lbs, I am 100% sure he will gain speed on 150lbs. It will also take him less effort to do that than a guy going from 350 to 460.

While I'm in agreement with Glenn Pendlay, and your post adarqui, I have a question for you: If you add 50kg to your squat, wouldn't you end up moving your old 1-RM faster?

This is a question that would definitely be more oriented towards beginners or advanced novices.

Joe Rogan is a black belt in taekwondo and BJJ brown belt, and he's still in pretty damn good shape.

He has another video teaching it, check it out:

In the end he shows kung lee's version of the kick as well.

I think they have their uses, but they are very much absued in general.

Having people almost do the splits to be able to land on the box and making that some kind of athletic ability measurement is stupid IMO. It's like the people at the gym who tell you "ya bro, I can squat 6 plates bro" then proceed to do less than a quarter squat.

For some fun though, 45" box jump with a 60lbs weighted vest.

THEY ARE REAL TO ME DAMMIT!

There's been several products similar to this throughout the years and they're all always bullshit. I especially liked the placebo band test descriptions and the video. I can't understand how some people believe in this stuff so easily though.

This almost depends on who you ask AFAIK.

John Berardi highly recommends eating carbs (other than fruits and veggies) peri-workout (PERI, not a typo). According to him the body's carb tolerance is highest during and after exercise, and so recommends eating the bulk of your carbs during and after exercise vs any other time during the day.

In addition, depending on your regular carb tolerance, if you are going to eat carbs anyways as well outside of your exercise periods, you're better off doing it in the AM (According to him as well).

I'm not, but yes, I did finish my Master's degree.  :P

When you asked about that, my first reaction was a WTF? then I figured you mistook me for somebody else.

Well not really. But I hurt my lower back recently, makes me feel like an old man for sure.  :pissed:

I joined TVS a while ago, but it seems a lot of the action is here. Currently in recovery and rehab mode. Great site, great members, and great information. I love it.  :highfive:
