Yes Robert - I made  this exercise from this last video like squezing the ball etc but standing straight- not using the wall. Besides my physiotherapeutis told me to do normal lunges and with using unstable ground. I also work with thera band - I pull my leg in opposite direction (if it's left leg I pull it to the right - it's like kicking the ball with straight or bent leg but I worked with straight leg - this is the best exercise in my opinion to built VMO muscle ) . I also do a lot of stretching exercises and since injury till this days and I have no problems with my knee when I'm regularly stretching myself.

But to be honest with you- My VMO and quadriceps before I even do gym workout were built good. My physiotherapeutist just told me that my legs are built like hell etc. Earlier it doesn't interested me. I'm physically very active person and I jump regularly since I was 15 years old so maybe that's one of the reason?

But as I wrote - this couple of exercises help me to strengthen my VMO and reduce my knee pain

Introduce Yourself / Hello from a guy who wants jump high
« on: February 10, 2013, 06:01:08 am »
Hi. I'm a new member so I should introduce myself.

I'm David and I'm from Poland- country in Europe.

Age: 23
Height: 5'10/ 178 cm
Weight: 160 LBS/ 73 kg
Reach: 7'6
Current Standing vertical jump: about 33 inches/ 80 cm
Current Running vertical jump: about 41-42 inches / 103-105 xcm
Current Squat: 120 kg/264 lbs x5 (never checked my max)

Training:
Plyometric drills, dunks-jumping, gym workout

So that's my stats. I play basketball in professional team in Poland but it's the lowest league so it's not as professional as you could imagine. I like more dunks . I made my first dunk when I was 19 years old and I did it off one leg. Right now I'm jumping only off 2 feet because of my injuries. I had a jumper's knee , twisted ankles maaaaany times and 4 months a go I had Plantar Fasciitis and I feel some pain till this days but I'm not giving up. I worked at the gym only for 4-5 months during 2 years. Usually after 1-2 months of workout I had injuries like ankles, knees or back. So I have not a lot of experience but right now I'm smarter after all of injuries and gym is important to increase my vertical, especially standing. I have no goals . I just want to stay healthy because last 2 years was awful and slowly increase my vert.

I have some videos with my dunks so I'll write it in appropriate section.
