WOW
THIS GUY IS STILL GOING AT IT!

I've been followings Scooby's Journals, on and off, for almost 10 years?!?! I remember when we were still posting on older forums "Terminal Vertical", "The Vertical Summit"... and chatting on msn back in the day (when it still existed), he is a genuine guy.

I've never met a person so dedicated to the game but yet so crap... But it only shows how much passion he has for the game.
It amazes me how he has so much going on in his life, work commitments, ankle surgery, marriage, baby...yet still never gives up.

This guy is so inspirational he was able bring together and run a bball team of complete strangers. He ran practices, league games and Videos. He also got into Olympic lifts, leading him to power lifting competitions. I also remember you got very close to being one of the most popular Youtube channels in HK.

You have already accomplished so much. I cant wait till you reach your ultimate goal.

like how you always say... BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

cause i do  ;)

Thanks a lot lamp. much appreciated.

Did you do surgery with patella tendon? or hamstring graft?

Whats the reason why the injured leg cant get back to size?

I think he did, i assume he wants me to continue to do the same exercises before...
But he never told me about the Bulgarian split squat, which seems to be a pretty good one i missed.
I dont blame him... his no strength/hypertrophy expert...

I still dread each time i look at the size difference between my legs..I know its gona take me a while to bring them back to equal

found some cool articles if anyone else is interested!

So its been 1 year since ACL surgery (left knee)

My physio says he doesnt need to see me anymore. All i need to do is keep strengthening my knee.

right now my injured leg is smaller than my good leg and considerably weaker.

what is the best way to bring my injured leg back to strength to match my good leg?

Should i stop doing Bilateral exercises? Im afraid my dominant leg would just take over when i do things like barbell squats, and worsen my imbalance...

Man... i dont know if you have ever been seriously injured and needed surgery and to sit out for over a year..
Recently my friends have been getting injured pretty bad.
i know 4 guys who tore their ACL.
one guy tore it twice
and recently another one severley dislocated his ankle. cast for 6 weeks, and needs physio.

Im starting to doubt myself, thinking its not worth coming back to play basketball...
maybe if i was a professional athlete that gets paid.

But im not.

Tearing your ACL cost THOUSANDS, surgery, hospital and shit loads of physio. not to mention affecting your ability to work.

is it worth it?

I wish someone would have done that.... i was lost for a long time.. till i contacted scooby....

Introduce Yourself / coming from 'the vertical summit' !

Hey Guys,

Not sure if many of you guys are from the old forums Terminal Vertical/ Vertical Terminal and 'The Vertical Summit' - TVS (been following Scooby  :-[ )
Well I've been lurking around the Vertical Jump Training community for a while now, but wasnt a frequent poster. I had journals in both forums.
I Wasnt very into training in the very begin, wasnt very consistent, and didnt push myself very hard...
got better 4 or 5 years? and eventually reached my goal of being able to dunk. TOOK ME A LONG TIME. and i wasnt very consistent at dunking.

But eventually, one month ago, i got to the point where i could make a clean dunk. (if i was fresh).
but the week after that i tore my ACL  :uhcomeon:

Its been 6 weeks since the injury and 3 weeks post-op.
Lost about 5kgs. leg has gotten smaller and virtually lost all strength. couldnt even stand on it after surgery. couldnt even lift it, kick it, bend it. could not walk.

Pretty devastated... but i will not let this set me back.
I will transform this disabled leg, into a leg that i can jump off and DUNK.
I AM DETERMINED TO GET BACK!
