Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: FP's Jump Journal

For pre workout, you really want to do a lot of mobility stuff, leg swings and stretch hip flexora, you don't really want to stretch much else till after workout.

I think everyone squat is going to look different depending on limb length proportions. I'm 6,5 with really long femeur so it's really hard to get down without leaning forward some bit.

No pics or vids come up on my messages just an empty space where they are supposed to be, anyone know why..

It's been gradual, I think I've been doing a lot of overuse maybe. Lately I've been helping my father on a building site which means lots of shoveling, and also I been playing a lot of Xbox, maybe this has contributed to it. I've got a good bit of swelling on the hand on the side below the thumb, been icing like crazy but it hasn't gone down yet

Really good article. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's main point is to do a partial squat with heavy weight to increase tendon strength..

Anyone out here try long iso holds... I mean like iso extreme holds in a lunge position. A coach call jay Schroeder used to have his athletes hold these position for upto 5 minutes. I'm currently a physical therapy student and I'm looking at ways to deal with tendonopathy and tendonitis injuries, particularly insertional knee and achilles. I've been doing an iso lunge hold for 2 minutes 30 secs lately as part of my warm up, it certainly get the muscles firing but I'm not convinced yet if it's helping my tenon strength.

I suppose I'm trying to tie this in with force absorption, I mean for example every time you land. I'm 6'5 and weigh 225, body fat 14% but I think my foot contact makes me look like a goy 50 lbs overweight. If I do a depth jump even from a 12 inch height, I'm really slow taking off again. Probably this failure to absorb the shock leads to injuries. My leg strength is good, my arches are high but there's something missing, that's why I'm trying the iso holds seeing if this will help increase tendon strength and help with improve amortization phase.

Would love to hear from anybody whose got any thoughts on this..

Anyone used this program...

Any program in particular anyone has tried, that really worked..

I mean other than squats, rfess, goodmorning, stiff leg deads, hip thrusts, depth jump, depth drops, is there any other specific exercise that might help me make gains..

Thanks that's really helpful. I weigh 100 kg, I know my squat is terrible, but I do think my limb lengths especially my really long femeur in proportion to my height doesn't help. Would u recommend doing any jumps as well, or to just focus on the strength..

My body fat is 14%, squat 100kg all the way down and160kg to bench height which is about parallel for me.  Vj is 24 inches, and a little higher off 1 foot, maybe a couple of inches more. Predominantly a 1 foot jumper. Deadlift is terrible, 175kg and my form is gone so I just done really do it now. My lifts are plateaued for about two years. Maybe I'm too old to improve, 32... I'd like not to think that though

How about you guys, what kind of numbers are ye squatting and jumping..

Hey, I was hoping I could just get some ideas on what people think really works to help improve vertical leap. I've done kelly baggetts vj bible and to be honest didn't improve a lot. I'm 6'5 fairly strong and fast , play semi pro bball but can barely dunk, really embarrassing for my size :-[
