His combination of outside shooting and rebounding has -never- been seen in the NBA. He's a skilled, gifted talent for sure.

Really special kid. His rebounding alone is  :o astonishing. Hopefully he joins forces with a legit contender.

It's pretty cool that they threw Carmelo Anthony in that Chauncy Billups trade. Dunno how they pulled that off.

Steal for sure! Big win for NYK!

Why? I like rivalries and great teams going head to head. Parity is not that great in my opinion.

NYK, Bulls, Magic, Heat, and Celtics. Expect a wild eastern playoff this year.

Kevin Love scored 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, recording his 45th consecutive double-double, breaking Moses Malone's record for the longest streak in the modern NBA era, a record that had stood for over 30 seasons. This guy is a stud but it sucks that he is one of the worst teams in the nba.

for another star caliber player

landry fields has  a big future

The catalyst of the New York Knicks is Landry Fields. When he plays well the team always seems to win. Also he manages to play his best against the best teams. For sure he is going to be a stud.

Carmelo Anthony : 27 pts 10 reb

Chauncy Billups :   21 pts 8 ast

Amar'e Stoudemire: 19 pts 5 reb

- Amazing debut from both of them. Although there were some key mistakes that could hurt them down the road.

- ISO ball with less ball movement than one would like.
- Blown defensive coverage
- Some nerves and misfiring on offense.

- Everyone did a awesome job just trying to figure each other out. To play with such high intensity and effort to pull out this win is commendable, I applaud these guys for playing on sheer instinct and ability. Maybe not a championship caliber team just yet, but improving the bench, defense, chemistry, and maybe fishing for another star caliber player could leave New York in the top 3 seed in the east.

Basketball / Re: Nets Acquire Deron Williams
« on: February 23, 2011, 07:51:58 pm »
im a nets fan and utah def got better part of deal. why are nets getting rid of their young talent and trying to win now? doesnt make sense. they dont have the pieces to do it. they should have drafted wesley johnson, not make this trade, and have another top pick this year like irving or sullinger. if anything, trade devin harris for another top draft pick.

Yea, I don't understand why they gave up their core young talent for just one star. I assume Deron Williams will be miserable in New Jersey for a long time. "Williams took some heat this month for the retirement of Jazz coach Jerry Sloan. The two had disagreed during halftime of a home loss to the Bulls on Feb. 9. Sloan retired the next day." My guess is that the issues between Deron and Sloan were much worse than what we fans have been privy to. Maybe the halftime fight was much worse than we know??

Here we go again.

The New Jersey Nets have officially acquired two-time All Star guard Deron Williams from the Utah Jazz in exchange for guard Devin Harris, forward Derrick Favors, two first round draft picks (Nets 2011, Golden State 2012) and cash considerations, Nets General Manager Billy King announced. Utah Jazz got some real key pieces in return.
