Boxing / Re: pacuiqao vs bradley soon

What the  f**k  :o  :pissed: :pissed: .

First off manny pacquiao has definitely proven himself since his last fight from marquez. Bradley was just plainly put rubbish no solid punches made at pacquiao.

Even though lederman had it 1 round to bradley and yet it was given to bradley.

i knew this was going to happen when i saw the judge who favoured rios over abril and the other judge was too new was not qualified for this.

Maybe the biggest rob of the year after marquez vs pacquiao 3.

i don't know what a rematch will do as he was clearly in the first fight the same could happen again even if pacquiao wins by a big margin.

what were the judges watching and were they high or something.

lets just see what happens next. Its strange that bradley already knew he was going to win and offered a rematch before the fight.

Pac's gonna knock Bradley out in the rematch. He's not gonna leave anything to chance.

120604 Boin Phs2 Week 1 day 4
30sec rest per rep and 3 min rest per set....
2variation 4set x 5 reps = 30min of rest time...

Very time consuming.  The work out consist of 3 parts: warm up, Glute activation exercise, Jump specific...
I nearly spent 2 hours on this Boing thing.. A total of 40 jump in about 40 min.
Landing of the Horizontal long jump take a bit of practice  as i keep leaning forward.

PS.  I appreciate those who check out my journal and give feedback, but please be constructive if possible.
I read around about Shawn Myszka... and that is about the only reason why i want to give boing a try.

I am not promoting anything by any means but here is an interview with Shawn which might be interested to some people:
http://www.verticaljumping.com/boing_vert_interview.html

You don't listen if people do give constructive feedback, so... /:

It's just irritating to see, tbh, especially when you have the squat you have and the potential to get up. You're wasting your time with this. Are you even squatting anymore? Are you even max jumping anymore? Stretching? Doing calf raises?

Since you seem to like giving cash away for no real concrete reason whatsoever, can I have some cash for a ten lb. tub of whey protein?

Pacman doesn't put enough emphasis on strength workouts, I think, out of preference. Hopefully his trainer convinced him to do it this time around.

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: Hyper-extended knee, rehab tips?
« on: June 01, 2012, 12:33:26 am »
Well... while walking around campus today, when I kind of took a small hop down a stair landing with the knee extended, I felt a little pain in my knee again.  It's significantly less severe than last week when it was still hurting, but still, it would be stupid to put this knee in a league game in as little as 3 days.  I'll shoot for next saturday for my return.

You say higher reps is better for healing the joint, but I also need to eventually do heavier weight for strength.

Is 20 reps what you consider high reps?  Also I can just do both right?  3x8 heavier and then right after do 3x20 light...

Thanks.

2 Sets of 30 reps, 2-3 x a week,  progressing the weight from session to session works great for pre/rehab with pure knee flexion exercises.   You train your hamstrings as HIP EXTENSORS for strength for the majority of the time, and use the knee flexion exercises as I described, MOST of the time.

Optimal scenario for you would  be to do something like ghr's, on a glute ham  bench, CORRECTLY, for 3-4 sets of 6-10 reps, followed  by high rep leg curls for 2 x 20-30 in one session.   In the next do rdls for 3-4 sets of 6-10 reps, followed  by another leg curling variation, preferably unilaterally for 2 x 20-30.

Ghr's done correctly are a great exercise, done wrong theyre a waste of time and a good way to screw up recruitment patterns.

Cues for correct GHRs? I'm curious.

sick username, welcome.

curious, how was your experience at API?

peace

Thanks, Im a fan of your work. My experience at API was good however I would say that any amount of time spent at API should be immediately  followed up with a serious d-load week. Im of the opinion that corrective movement session, followed by a 1.5 hour Olympic Lifting based workout, followed by cold tub, followed by movement and turf agility drills (1.5 hours), followed by some type of metabolic conditioning (within  your pre determined VO2 "zone") followed by cold tub, is overtraining.

Yet I do understand that the clientele  are mostly agents of athletes or teams who want to quickly prepare an athlete who may have been  sedentary do to injury, free agency, or get them ready for a draft.  They do a good job of locating whatever weakness you have and trying to train your weakness (core stability, inflexibility, injury recovery, power symmetry etc.)

A few of my constructive criticisms is obviously the day in, day out volume of work and its ability to cause a neurologically overtrained state. (for which cold tub contrasts, foam roller therapy, and physical therapy do almost nothing to help). I didn't care for the constantly trying to shove EAS products down your throat (every 3 hours they have a protein shake with your name on it), as Im a big fan of just eating real food.

Overall it was good training, they're very knowledgable and accommodating, just be ready to do work. Some people don't like individual attention from strength coaches on every little thing they do, I found it easier to stay motivated that way. They also had a program called the Eagle, or Fallen Eagle program ( i can't remember the name now) for these special forces guys, that had been blown up or shot in the line of duty.  They take these guys all full of scars, shrapnel and injuries over a few months they send them back to work stronger, faster and leaner.  I give  mad respect to API for running a program like that to true warriors.

That's really cool. Sounds like they really pay attention to your needs, almost to the point of overwork though. I wouldn't mind the protein shake, lol. Was there a fee for your stay with API or were you part of a program? Just curious.

Today I played like a boss. I think mentally bein relaxed is key. It was like everyone else was playin at a lower gear, I felt like I was at the playground.

Anyone else who experienced this, pls share Ur exp haah.

Then I sprained my ankle.
The last time I sprained my ankle was dec 2010, and it still bugs me now, a year and then some.

Not sure how long this will take. Mudder farker.

I wouldn't say relaxed. I'd say keeping calm is the key, imo. There's a bit of a difference.

It's a shame we have to write 'used to' though...

He programming bots to write stupid shit now... what a failure.

This ain't right. Have more respect for what someone wants to do and is happy to do. smh

I'd rather be glute dominant than quad dominant, tbh. Which I am, I think, after several months of one leg parallel box squats.

At any rate, just get your squat numbers up. If you're squatting 400 and have good reactivity, chances are you're gonna get up. Get the numbers up, jump and sprint, recover, and progress.

Max effort jumping/sprinting with maximum rest between sets, heavy squats and DLs with a supplementary hamstring exercise, core work, foam roll, stretch, recovery, rinse, repeat.

That's all you need to do, scooby. We've talked about this on IRC, lol. You don't have to buy into a new program, you don't need help from somebody in Canada that can grab the rim, you just need to plan smart.

Boingvert sounds dumb, tbh. You got world-class dunkers endorsing it that never had to workout to get their vert. It's fishy.

... Unless Boinvert is something else completely. /shrug

Duncan has an incredibly UGLY game... a lanky ass, slow mo-fo with no game. I don't care what you say. He's one of the people that make me hate basketball so... that's pretty hard to do.

Dude is smooth and is completely capable of putting up a very, very solid 25 and 10 with his basketball IQ, and in fact averaged that in his prime. The fact that you're attacking Duncan shows your own lack of knowledge of the game.

Yes, he's boring. But he's an incredible player, more so when you think he didn't dominate the NBA on athleticism but on cerebral moves alone. Plus he didn't initially start playing ball, he started off with swimming, lol, which is surprising since you consider most of these Hall of Fame dudes played ball since they were toddlers. It's Hakeem-like.
