Everytime I read one of your posts I keep finding myself amazed by how you make everything so easy to understand despite of my really poor knowledge about the specific topic. Well thought, better written. Bravo.

So, for what I stated before, I rule not. you rule.

.......ok, let's say we both rule.

Interesting post ,as usual, Andrew.

Reaching the full potential is the ultimate goal for every serious athlete.
But as you said, the highest level of training intensities may be out of reach for most non elite athletes as far as a more than solid knowledge of the science of training is required (staying away from injuried wouldn't be a bad thing too).

I was wondering: don't you think that( apart from the already mentioned knowledge lack and the possible/probable injuries you may run through training "as hard as you can") just playing a sport would be another serious limit?
Wouldn't the sport specific activities "drain" to much of the energy and time?
As you stressed out in your post, the more advanced of an athlete you are, the more the time and effort you have to invest in order to improve.
So how do you as a trainer actually behave managing, for example, a basketball player? Are those concepts really applicable to those who are concerned about so many multiple aspects (among wich the sport specific skills) of the performance?

PS: I LOLed at the picture, btw

You mean you cannot dunk at all?!?
man that's hard to believe...I bet you'll fly a couple of weeks from now

well nope i can't.. ive jumped like 3 times in two months..

i have pretty bad genetics for power.. without all that frequency/heavy lifting my body turns back into mush.

damn. I know you always say you got bad genetics,I really didn't realize HOW bad you mean.
that does actually make me respect you more than I did for you athletic achievements.
40 inches with this kind of "decompensation" rate is out of this world.

I got decent gains with these exercises
Going out there and have a dunk session from time to time has helped too

I think I've found my way to get the best from team practice.
But I'm "almost injured" right now...I thought I had a  ruptured  meniscus at a certain point...
things are getting better though (all infos on my log). Check out TVS from time to time. You know,it's not the same thing without you around.

as for my comments, once again,no need to thank me.you deserve it.

Hi everyone
I'm Enzo.
I was able to improve my (humble) dunking ability thanks to Andrew's valuable suggestions.
The man knows what he talks about, but maybe you all have already realized that.
