interesting that you actually felt refreshed though.. i've only had that happen a few times with such crappy sleep.. i understand the non-effected training session, but the feeling fresh part is weird.. maybe you had some crazy deep REM sleep in those 3 hours.

peace

I dunno why, maybe it's because I returned to a more normal waking pattern. I usually got up at 7:15 for school, and I always feel best getting up within an hour of that, naturally though, without alarms.

I inadvertantly tested some theory from this article. I slept for only 3 hours today, after being on a schedule of 9+ hours every day for the past couple of weeks. I didn't bother to go to sleep until 5am ( ::)) and only managed to sleep until 8am. I woke up feeling suprisingly refreshed, and ended up having a great session, PRing in every lift I attemped.

The session went like this, bold indicates a PR:

Drop Step Vert
30" Tie PR
31"
31.5"
30"
31.5"
Psyched about this!

Weights

Squat
Bar x 10 (44 lbs)
40 x 5 (88 lbs)
60 x 5 (132 lbs)
70 x 3 (154 lbs)
80 x 3 (176 lbs)
All nice deep, clean and easy reps. Good light day.

No ISOs todays as Wednesday is now a recovery day for squatting.

Dumbbell Row
20 x 8 (44 lbs)
32.5 x 5 (71.5 lbs)
45 x 7 (99 lbs)

Dips
BW x 6
+20 x 5 (44 lbs)

Dumbbell Curls (I figured my bicep strength was holding back my chinning progress)
10 x 6 (22 lbs)
14 x 8 (30.8 lbs)

1:04 is pretty fast for having dead calves and shin splints, you're gonna be flying when you can run fresh.

Do you have any stats of your own that you'd like to share?

calfs are still soooo sore from the last 400's i ran.. they were less sore walking around today, but once i started warming up to workout, they felt dead/sore as hell.

warmup ~200 yard primetime runs: 2x (light/totally stiff leg)

1/4th mile #1: 1:22
1/4th mile #2: 1:17
1/4th mile #3: 1:21

^^^-- completely dead.. felt like my lower leg was gonna snap in half.. definitely submax HEH.. my recovery/lungs felt good..

jump rope: off & on for 1 hour... intervals x 100-200 FAST sprints with jump rope.. probably 20-25 of them

^^^-- so surprised how good my landings were on jump rope.. landings were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO stiff.. very odd.. my lungs/recovery for these were very good too.. i was FLYING on the sprints and not feeling it much..

peace

edit: my calfs feel like rocks.

How accurate are the distance measurements for those 1/4 mile runs?

Beatin' Gravity is up in the house,
beating out sick rhymes with keyboard and mouse.

New to the club, but that's okay,
he knows Darqui rules when you're looking to train.

Science and grit is what we're about,
if you ain't got either then get the Hell out.

Still though your intro was slick and your rhymes damn on key,
Welcome to the site, it's a great place to be.

LOL! I never expected that...

Welcome man!

Yeah, it's fun as hell, but you're sure to injure yourself if you do it long enough.

lol

jumping/sprinting in Power Pants would be epic.

ya man, if your total is WEAK, then anything you do as an athlete is also weak...

if you dont total 2000+, dont talk to me.

I wonder how close some world class sprinters could get to a 2000. Ben Johnson benched 300+ for reps IIRC (may have been 400+) and squatted 600+..

ya well some guys would have some crazy totals.. some guys wouldn't.. you'd find some very fast guys with shitty totals..

alot of sprint coaches do not push the intensity to the max on squat/bench, and especially deadlift.

you'd see major differences among the athletes that drug and those that are clean too.. ben johnson for example..

peace
