I hate that crap as well, looks gay :P

but what's with the music? the bell made it too serious i had to laugh

the only one i do is a slow sprint where i try to focus on the dorsiflexing of the foot and getting the kness up

i made a video of my form i'll put it up soon, i might wanna do a different one

this guy was drafted or signed to the baltimore ravens or something, then he got hurt.. he's a monster, ill try to find his training journal from way back on charlie francis forum.



yea but some kid got 4.6 that was the best i think, only a handfull of people got better than me
and it was my first time, and i only got one chance due 2 time


one problem is that the start messed me up
i had just come off of track and I had new shoes and now blocks, pluss i  did a tempo run the day before haha

hopefully when we retime i'll be #1 and then I'll brag till i die hahaha lol
but Indiana Football players and general midwest FB is known as slow big  white people, and i have to say it's kinda true

ok, but i have a low amount of strength but i am still fast, if i could up my strength massively..i would become very very fast would'nt I? I ran 13's freshman year and increased my squat very slightly and ran 12.3, so yea it happens pretty fast for me

but i know everyone is different, i have to say, i admit that i think almost every great sprinter is a genetic freak, but there are some that work super super hard..not usain though, friken lucky SOB

ah, i forgot you were mulligan! welcome to the forum man..

i was 147 or so, weak as dog shit by junior year of college.. you really aren't "weak", based on how early you've started training.. sure you might not be naturally extremely explosive, but through proper training people won't even realize that a few years down the road. I wish I started around your age, but I had absolutely no guidance.

congrats on the PR, it took me 1.5 years to hit 1.5xBW on my squat, if that gives you an idea of how weak I was (am)..

what are some of your track numbers? max velocity sprinting might be the best thing any human can do, it is one of the most essential aspects of "being human".. without it, man o man do people stay weak.. max V will develop so many motor qualities (recruitment of fast twitch mu's), muscle groups (glutes/hamstrings/quads/calfs/core/shoulders), and is a very strong anabolic stimulus.. until the age of 26 or so, I can't even recall ever actually running MAX velocity.. being a basketball player, it's something we never were able to do, since we were on the court all of the time.

so ya man just keep progressing your strength as you are doing, working on all kinds of movements out on the track/court/etc, staying in great shape, and everything will come together.

Yea man i love to just go outside and run 100m! fun as shit and I am getting so much faster
I ran a crappy 12.3 FAT during this season but i am pretty confident i am at 11.8seconds in the 100m now
and i love the 200m but it's long, i ran that at 24.8 FAT But hopefully i downed that to 24.5 now
400m was at 55seconds but i hate that race more than anything I don't even care about lowering that time

i know i must have increased my times because i increased my squat
I am weak but i am pretty sure i use alot of my relative strength in reactive, u know? like the VJB guy said tath you can use a % of your strength when you jump I think i use a high % but i am so weak it does'snt do anything haha

why is his back hand straight? i was always told to keep it at 90degrees, but i know it is a great relfex when you put it back like that

ok i know from experience that my high school coaches are idiots

I had 2, one quit after freshman year

we never get a chance to lift, when we do we go and they tell us to squat on our toes, which is very very bad

they made us do box jumps for 20 reps x3 sets, which was endurance and we are the sprinting team

never once did we have recovery days, we went hard all the time even before a meet

we ran alot of distance running for being a short distance squad, alot of times coach was lazy and made us do 30+min jogs, which i have to say are just a recipe for disaster as it really got everyone with shin splints


we never practiced with blockes enough


we are a 4a school and we compete against the biggest schools in indiana, and most the guys ended up leaving half way through, or got hurt....so I ended up running against 2 of the fastest kids in the state and got schooled

they both did many things wrong, don't say HS coaches know what they are doing because  I had 2 and they suck and were very well respected among coaches....there may be a few who know what they are doing but that's another story   i amd talking average

the guy in the article said sprinters are born not made, but i believe there still is a way to be a beast sprinter and have the completely wrong structure, though i think i have a pretty good sprinter's structure I need to up my strength before i turn heads

so about me, I am a weak skinny punk

weight is 150lbs
height is 6ft maybe 6,1 but i doubt it

so yea skinny

bench 165max
shoulder/military press is @100lbs(new lift sorta)
pullups- N/A
squat PR last night!!!!!!!!! 13RM@135lbs        6RM@165    4RM 175lbs so Max is around 195lbs
Deadlift- last time i checked i could do 225 but idk how much more I think 6RM@185

yea so weak as well, but i have my own bench and squat(no safties, the reason y I do rep maxes instead of Max rep)

my squat is around 1.3xbw I want it at 1.5 so i can hit plyos


I play football right now
need 2 work on my bball skills
and will run track probably 4 my whole life
