Track & Field / Re: World Record Videos

Ive tried longjump. Ive jumped 5,96m.

so if you mean 5.96meters that is 19.55feet am i right? pretty far man

we have 2 guys jumping 21feet on my team..well did before 1 graduated...there is no way i get that far in my jump

422
That is NOT how high school track should be. (This is probably why I love my team so much) And the 400m hurts... a lot. But I love it... I hate it... but I love it :D haha

o hell yea...i love the people on my track team...we goof around all the time

hey freestyling rapping on the bus ride there and back is soooo much fun

and i don't like relays but when i am in 1 i would tear myself to shreds so i can win it for my team..that's why they always make me anchor in a much needed relay win

but 4x100m is soooo hard in hand off... only in practice i mess up but in real thing i never mess up

dang!!! if i was 1 animal i would want to be that guy....dang i hate snakes that thing went right after it.

if Adarqui was cool he'd have 2 as pets

if Adarqui was that cool every1 in the world would be on his forum

Once I feel I've reached a good level of speed I, Joe, will consider open meets.

I bobby has considered open meets but time is not on my side...they all happen to be miles away and there seem to be really really good runners there but at least you get an automatic time

and i think joe should be cool and only do it if he feels like it

and i think joe is getting pissed i am using his name in such a weird way

427
i don't even like 400m

Oh, no wai!?

I don't think anyone enjoys that.

i ran 4 events every meet...400m was bad but try doing it again in the 4x400m..then you now the meaning of pain

Coaches made me do a similar thing at the final meet of the year. Pissed me off. They preached a philosophy of training for the team. I did not really care for the performance of some high school track team, especially when it conflicts with the improvement of my own performance. Thus, Joe no longer does track at school.

does joe do open meets? i love track, hate team...and i'm in it for myself cuz if i was not the coach would make me run 800m which if that happens...bmully no longer does track at school....but that's if i do not get the events i want

i really wish i only did 100m, 200m, then the 400m was after the 200m

this is how track is

there are guys like me and joe who work hard...actually come to practice but it's really a waste of our time since we know more about training than the coach..anyway we come to every practice...then some guys who are genetic freaks, are super unflexible and really never have to try hard show up and take our spot.... they run pretty fast times but never make it to state...and sometimes they get hurt

while i miss 1 practice and i had 2 run with distance squad the next day...which actually counted as 2 days according 2 coach...anyway i missed 1 day then the next meet i had 2 run only 800m and 4x400m(which i have to mention was the worst team possible with all freshman and slow kids)

so yea, i hate high school track

i have another story but i think I'll save that for another rant lol

so you had 10lbs in each hand or more than that? then you did 400 walking lunges! that would be pretty tiring

do you squat anymore? that's what i think about when it comes to vertical and speed in the weight room...squat  and oly lifts...but i haven't seen a new squatting video on you channel..unless i missed it or something

well i just got back into squatting but i'm not going heavy, and it's more like a quarter-squat jump-squat at the moment.. i don't plan on going heavy anymore.. I go push myself too hard with maximal weights and have gotten some injuries from it.. it's alot safer to push myself with submax weights.. I mean I'd love to work submax (very slow progressive overload) for so long that my max shoots way up, i mean, that has happened as of recent, as a biproduct of those 400 walking lunge sessions + natural ghr's.

so ya i'm going to keep the weights light.

peace man

I know Adam link and a lot of other guys keep telling me to push the weight like it's you max and you will get results

http://vertfreak101.com/training/content.php?178-Wasted-Reps-Wasted-Sets-Wasted-Time  --great read by lance

but anyway sometimes i feel that when i do 85% and above on my squat the weight is too heavy to go fast and my form is not good enough either...so i go slow down and as fast as possible up

i don't even like 400m

Oh, no wai!?

I don't think anyone enjoys that.

tell me about it..plus my main and best event is 200m which is conveniently  after the 400m so i don't get as best as i could cuz i am tired

i ran 4 events every meet...400m was bad but try doing it again in the 4x400m..then you now the meaning of pain

if i had it my way i'd just do 100m, 4x100m, and 200m then maybe a 4x400m at the end

430
That's unfortunate. I was first in the 110m hurdles in my school, second in the 300m hurdles, and second in long jump (not because I'm good at that one but because very few people do it)

I made it to region but did really poorly in my events. I got put in the 4x400 at last minute and surprised the team, I helped us get to state but I didn't do too well there. That's part of why I want to focus some more on the 400m this year.

my times as of sophomore year season

100m-12.3FAT
200m-24.8FAT
400m-55.8FAT

^^those are slow but i am faster now...i have been telling every1 that i estimate a 11.8 100m now maybe better
so i need to go to an open track meet and put my $ where my mouth is and do that 11.8 or better

but this is what coach told me i need to do or he will put me on 800m where supposedly i will improve faster and have a better time making it 2 state one day...WHICH IS COMPLETE SHIT!!800m is still hard to improve in and I am not good at distance at all...i don't even like 400m

times i need to stay on sprinter team(these would probably be fastest on our team next year as well)

100m-11.5 or under
200m-23flat or under(which doesn't make sense 2 me cuz this would be very hard)
400m-under 55 (he never got the memo that i did 55seconds i guess)

anyway he never actually knew my pr's...thought i was running 12.5 in 100m 25 in 200m and 58 in 400m

IDK i may be an idiot but i like to just get a football and grip it as hard as possible then do the same with a bball

this is and pull ups are done on a ledge on my stairs...i have gotten stronger fingers from it..now i when i deadlift 225 i don't even need to worry about dropping it

but i still am not a great Palmer..maybe that is what i will work on next week

ok so..... last night i decided im going to go back to that nice outdoor court with a roof, because of all the rain that has happened here.. so i goto sleep at 4:30 am (instead of 6:30am) and wake at 10:30am, needless to say not enough sleep..

i go dunk, kinda tired but trying to forget about it.. as im warming up, the rain comes in from the side, massive wind/rain.. wrecks the court.. i wait it out and do like 30 dunk attempts, a few really nice jumps, but the combo of slightly slippery shoes (mostly in my head) and lack of sleep had me less than peak.. but i still got to like 35" on a few jumps.

so i get home, all caff'd up, and pass out for 4 hours..

i wake up and weather seems nice outside.. i just may go dunk again, at a local court here.

lol nuts.

peace

do you have a job? or is this it? cuz i know my parents couldn't do that sleep schedule

anyway this summer i have the same sleep schedule except i fall asleep at like 3AM and wake up at like 3pm or even later
haha i kinda like it except there is little to do at night when you can't drive anywhere you want

so you where at the roofed court and it still go through!!! holy crap must have been pouring
i am gonna hit the court tomorrow thanks for reminding me

I went up as well in a single year. Unfortunately last year our school got bumped to 4A, making us the smallest one in the state, competition was pretty rough for me.

actually we are 4A but we are private so we raced against the big schools and the small schools

anyway for state there is no class system in track in my state

anyway i wanna make it to playoff(maybe not state) at least once in my high school career

i ran 3rd in varsity this year but some of the guys where hurt or got kicked of the team
and we have a new coach and he is a total jerk who doesn't know shit about what he is doing

435
I don't know about the whole toe/heel ratio or whatever. But, to BMULLY, hard work always pays off. You may not be an elite, but in high school you can get pretty far. Freshman year I was nothing special, not the slowest but I definitely wouldn't be considered fast. Now, I'm at the top with a few others. I don't expect to be world class, but I do expect to be someone other athletes look out for.

yea i went from slowest to top 5 in a year..hopefully i'll be Number #1 this year and it just might happen 2 cuz we are lossing a few guys
