Mixed Martial Arts / Rousey vs holm (spoiler alert)
« on: November 15, 2015, 10:44:10 am »
Wow didn't expect that, ronda was getting hit a lot as holm was moving alot. Rousey was chasing alot and started becoming careless she woud get hit while chasing. Then she would stumble or fall and that set up for the KO kick from holm and the end to the match.

I bet floyd is just itching to get on twitter to insult her.

Boxing / crawford vs jean
« on: October 25, 2015, 05:26:27 pm »
It started off a little slow, but later on crawford changed stance and bang, knockout at the end of round one. then he started picking up the pace, that guy is mean, aggressive and very observative if that is the right word as he times and opportunifies his punches and a wonderful stoppage.

great performance by crawford, him facing pacquiao would be aggressive vs speed aggressive awkward power
but would a good performance as the styles match.

Boxing / mayweather vs berto
« on: September 13, 2015, 10:46:28 am »
It turned out exactly as i knew it would, berto was I expected bad, he was slow in taking opportunities and just slow in chasing mayweather.

It was a one man dance, mayweather was the only entertaining fighter, he would come off defensive and fight and that would let berto to counter very few, but mayweather aggresive side was entertaining the power shots to the body, the upper cut man berto was so overmatched mayweather felt he could take his chances, enjoyed watching mayweather i blanked out berto during the entire fight.

I think he will fight again, as why would you choose a rubbish opponent in the eyes of many as a farewell fight, also when they said pacquiao wants a rematch he said he is not showtime fighter, which made me think that probably its temporary retirement from showtime so he can be free agent and then last fight as a proper farewell fight he even said records are meant to be broken so break the 50-0 record.

mayweather was excellent and enjoyed watching him fight some guy lol.

Boxing / mares vs santa cruz
« on: August 30, 2015, 02:37:53 pm »
Wow what a war, it was hard for me to score the fight because of mares is all out action style fight, but later on the rounds I could tell santa cruz was smart and focussed on mares he could counter him, he would out brawl him because he is taller and has a longer reach than mares, santa cruz was on another level, better jab and stronger jab, because he is taller and bigger reach that would increase his advantage.

nice action packed fight all the way through, mares needed a different game plan.
but I liked his style still but santa cruz was just the better fighter.

I would like to see mares fight someone his height, revenge agains gonzalez.
its not mares bad, he wasn't santa cruz was just better.

Boxing / Garcia vs peterson, lee vs quillin
« on: April 13, 2015, 03:06:36 pm »
It was an exciting night of fighting

The first fight in the first round looked like quilling would take it easy, but in the later rounds lee was boxing was being carefull and that knockout settled the score to a draw, i knew it was a close fight, quillin started wearing out and lee was using his reach effectively and being patient to counter

the peterson vs garcia match was my favourite, as the first few rounds peterson running mostly, which caused him the fight, but in the later rounds he was schooling garcia, if only he had done this from the beginning he would have won maybe or garcia could have got his left but didn't see it much so it is unlikely he would have got him.

some taunting from peterson which is unusual, impressed with peterson's conditioning and skills not so much with garcia, still the same, who manages to grab a win.
nothing new from garcia, he is very close to losing.

great fights.

Boxing / gennady vs murray
« on: February 22, 2015, 10:09:16 am »
It was an ok fight, golovkin is very good and very cautious when fighting murray, his uppercuts they don't look powerful unless they connect, sometimes i don't understand the purpose of the weak uppercuts maybe to distract him or open him up.
murray has a solid defence, i was taking this like a prediction of a pacquiao vs mayweather and pacquiao wins from the ko's lol

the ko's from golovkin looked nasty, but the punch to the temple didn't look powerful but suprised how it caused it to ko him.

an ok fight, reminds me of a honey badger vs a snake bulked up so has no speed.

Boxing / alvarado vs rios 3 - one sided
« on: January 25, 2015, 08:12:55 am »
Man

I decided to watch the highlights of brandon rios vs alvarado fight as i missed it and man it was a one sided brutal showdown from rios, man he was explosive and powerful, but alvarado didn't look the same aggessive from his first fight when it was two sided but one sided beat down by rios.

he was just fresh and powerful.

good choice to call off the fight from rios he just didn't seem the same.

respect to rios for his performance.

Boxing / 13/12/2014 a great a night of boxing
« on: December 14, 2014, 04:44:10 pm »
Wow what an excellent night of boxing, loved the hbo fight and showtime. firstly bradley vs chaves

that guy is tough, but bradley had a good gameplan of boxing and trying to power punch the other guy is good aswell, he was good counter punching and can take a punch and that guy was swinging and countering, and they both were trying to knockout each other from round 1 without any signs of tiring, but when I heard one person gave it to chaves, i was like what?, second guy gave it to bradley was good than i was thinking the third guy is a good judge and he gave it a draw  :uhcomeon: i was shocked. man bradley's eyes swole up, on the cheek aswell lol.

the thurman fight was good, but the 40 year old fighter was good also, he would not go down but he was also undefeated, but he was very awkward for thurman, thurman was not able to do much, so funny everybody boing thurman because he didn't knockhim out, pathetic, but he said I will fight the way i want to fight lol, they are not the ones boxing.

finally, khan vs alexander, a favorite fight, i like this khan more, very minimum holding, this is the khan i knew and liked, he was fast and he doesn't have knockout power so khan didn't have to be very cautious but sometimes he would jump in but it was a little and go caught but composed himself and continued, he was very good fast and would love to see khan vs mayweather.

so an excellent knight of fighting, the first fight on the hbo broadcast, the decision was outrageos, i heard, saw highlight, can't believe they gave the decision to benavidez, lol, cost him the title.

 :headbang: great fights

Boxing / ggg vs rubio
« on: October 21, 2014, 04:03:55 pm »
What a great night of boxing, the nonito donaire, fight was good, when I went to check my email, one of the email subject was written Walters ends Donaire... damnn spoiler, but nonito was good walters had a reach advantage so could keep him away so donaire decided to come close, but then walters ended it with a overhand to the temple ko, sweet. Then gennady golovkin fight, was so good, I liked the combination from ggg where he did a sweep short hook with hand then a powerful uppercut with the second hand and ggg was definitely fighting mexican style, loved his aggresiveness and also this ended in ko, over hand to the top of the head knocked him out, same situation where he waited to long to get up that when getting up on 10 it was too late.

Would love to see him fight cotto next, then canelo than move a weight to find ward. ;D

Strength, Power, Reactivity, & Speed Discussion / How to use starting blocks
« on: September 28, 2014, 06:52:59 am »
I was watching this interesting video from speedendurance.com, love the materials they have on that site regarding speed training and this one talks about setting the blocks and coming out of the blocks and it shows a video fo asafa powell's start with the famous 'toe drag', which shows that he has a very low heel recovery that his toe drags and that's as low as a heel recovery you can get, no wonder he has a great start, what a beast.

Boxing / boxing vs maidana 2
« on: September 14, 2014, 12:03:44 pm »
It was a very boring fight, I had a feeling it would turn out this way after the first fight as mayweather was letting him him but during the build I actualy believed maidana would do something different, lol, nope, he was very bad, I did not see anything good from him. This reminded me why I didn't like mayweather, he doesn't a lot of running and holding, wht is wrong with the ref, lets him hold.
I couldn't tell if he bit him or not, but he was cavering his face with that glove, so he deserved it and then he is acting like a drama queen over the bite,  :uhhhfacepalm:.

Hope he does fight pac.

Boxing / canelo vs lara - a boxing lesson
« on: July 13, 2014, 02:20:07 pm »
It was an interesting fight, lara who fought angulo knocked by this power puncher and then canelo who found it hard against trout and they face each other, which is each others weakness.

So the fight started well for lara he was making shots to the head of lara, effectively and lara tries to catch him but only gets 1 or 2 combinations on him, so lara is like this for up to 5 rounds. canelo starts increasing chance of landing body shot combinations and lara starts to slow down and moves less and gets caught by canelo but still able to get back. but lara is a slick fighter hit and running, he has a good combination, but not very good in landing large combinations, as it was a few and move. until the last few lara starts moving again and got cut on his eyes, then last round canelo let it go and just started going all out towards lara but lara avoiding and moving well. the scoring was close and for me it was very close to call it, that if I had to chose it would have been canelo because of his combination and last rounds than lara's few combinations and multiple pot shots or maybe a draw. but would not be interested in seeing the rematch too much moving around by lara to get points by hit and run.

canelo vs cotto??? interesting match up would love to see that fight. winner gets mayweather on september 2015.

I like reading this Journal of the study of the kinematics erm... I like the statistical analysis they provide in the form of a graph and table of the stride length, stride frequency, speed of usain bolt compared with the finalists at the race.

Usain bolt has a lower stride frequency than the others, but a bigger stride length which is at it's biggest  in the end, which doesn't make sense, as he is maintaining speed after 60m he is still increasing stride length.

he has a stride frequency of 11.2 in the first 20m mean in the three races, 2008, 2009, 2012

Boxing / Sergio Martinez vs Miguel Cotto
« on: June 07, 2014, 03:10:53 pm »
It is going to be an excellent fight, not interest much in the undercards.

I saw the weigh in and realized that martinez is the bigger fighter in the fight, taller and muscularly probably a bit more. So based on that with martinez incredible speed and power over a smaller cotto, I think i am slightly un-nerved and martinez has a higher chance of winning by 60-40.

Face off
