Mayura Dissanayake was working his job as a gas station clerk in Houston, Texas on July 10th when some thieves picked the wrong victim. His coworker returned from a trip to the bank when three lowlifes jumped him in front of the store. Little did they know, the clerk inside had been a semi-pro MMA fighter for over ten years.

Hand-timing is too much pain in the ass. Is there something specific and good out there? I want something like MyTracks. You push start in the beginning and stop in the end of your session, every single movement is logged and then at the time-speed graph you can see the exact time/distance/top speed of each sprint. But MyTracks is too general, i suppose an app built for running would have more related graphs/features?

What's the deal with that? Its a massacre the last days in there! I know it's an anonymous no-signup-needed thread so it's easy to auto-post there but is there a way to control it?
The anonymous is a good thing because posts won't appear in the 'recent posts' of the main page , but i am using RSS feed and it's driving me nuts!

Strength, Power, Reactivity, & Speed Discussion / Amrs & legs lengths
« on: August 02, 2012, 06:02:20 am »
After recent discussion about pressing and squatting i decided to measure my limbs.
It could be a good explanation to why i suck so much at bench press and full squat.

Arms :
Fingertip to elbow : ~50cm ( ~20'' )
Elbow to shoulder : ~30cm ( ~12'' )
Total : ~80cm ( ~32'' )

Legs:
Heel to knee : ~55cm ( ~22'' )
Knee to hip joint : ~45cm ( 18'' )
Total : ~100cm ( ~40'' )

In presses my arms make it really weird to go full rom, the extra long elbow-palm length calls for crazy bend/flexibility.
Same with legs i suppose, to get my hip joint to mid-calves height i need to travel ~25-30'' down.

Are my metrics totally fucked up ( reminder , height just below 6' barefoot , 6'5'' wingspan ), does it affect my lifting, or am i just making excuses?

Pics, Videos, & Links / The old farts dunking thread
« on: February 14, 2012, 12:50:43 pm »
No surprise i opened such a thread :P
No joke though , love seeing 'old' players still banging the rim...

Edit:
My original idea about this thread is videos of 35+ year old pros. Some everyday freaks should qualify too though but they have to be extreme ( their vert must be in the 40''area ).

Edit : just realized VC is only 35 , thought he was older! Oh well , was a good reason to open the thread anyway...

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / What kind of lunges and why?
« on: January 13, 2012, 05:31:37 am »
My main question is about normal vs reverse lunges , but for better topic coverage let's talk about BSS and walking lunges too.
I remember adarq favoring the reverse lunges, but i don't remember why. Since i am implementing them (reverse) for a long time now, i would be interested to read a few arguments about each kind of lunge and reevaluate things.

News, Announcements, & Suggestions / Embeding youtube videos
« on: November 30, 2010, 04:53:29 am »
Darq , why can't i use the youtube embeding code like you do? It auto deletes the [htnl] part( spelled that wrong on purpose because it deletes it even in comments! ).
Same thing happens when someone quotes your vids that are embeded like that.
Is it a user priviledge issue or a bug?

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Cardio for fat loss when being on caloric surplus?
« on: November 23, 2010, 08:04:21 am »
Q&A section , niceeeeeeeeee....

So , does it make any sense to do a cardio workout while being on caloric surplus that day?
Let me make it more focused:
I am talking about doing a light , fat-loss oriented cardio , like 45 mins at 60%MHR. That supposedly burns 80% fat and 20% glycogen.
If you go on and workout after that and at the end of the day you are above maintenance in kcal input, does it work ( fat loss + gain muscle ) or the surplus will firstly recover the missing fat?
Ive read articles claiming both here and there , let me hear some thoughts here...
