both glutes achy today.. too much stretching/icing yesterday, i bet.

decided to rest.

feeling decent before bed.

04/29/2019

for dinner: made some solid sweet corn with a mountain of irish butter on it. also had two avocados.

then later bananas and milk.

slight stretch this morning, prior to some serious icing. helped ALOT.

i have to ice two spots simultaneously, that feels good.

also made a huge loaded baked potato for dinner:
- baked potato w/ salt/pepper, mountains of irish butter, sea salt potato chips on top, then cheddar jack atop the chips.. omg.
- yes i put potato chips on top of a potato.
- also avocado on the side

apparently i'm a baked potato specialist.

decent 1km in there. really relaxed and on lots of mud/puddles in pitch dark, soo.. nice.

right glute has felt great afterwards. left glute actually feels a bit achy tho. hah.

i just found an epic glute/hamstring/hip stretch at work. this'll probably be the death of me.

man o man it feels so good. i've been in it for ~10 minutes.

so basically, there's a tall "bar desk" next to a wall.. so i'm doing a standup desk, with my laptop on the bar. but, i'm "good morning'd" into the wall, with forearms or even elbows on the bar things.

so im in this stretch while working/computing.

one of the biggest areas it's hitting is towards the "right sacral spine", which is where i feel is a major source of the issue (in combination with other stuff). (the left sacral spine was bugging out when my left glute/hip/ham were hurting). something in there is causing all kinds of stuff to freak out.

legs stopped shaking a few mins ago. :ninja:

 :derp:

Man there's a real secret in stretching for long periods. I do it occasionally and it's a beautiful thing afterwards. Provided you can get out safely.

yea definitely. tho, made my hamstrings a bit sore today.

one good from yesterday is: after all the stretching/icing/craziness i did, glute/hamstring/hip actually feel great today. hamstrings are sore from the prolonged stretch tho.

stuff like that shouldn't even make us sore give me a break.. i mean the position i was in shouldn't even cause much of a stretch. the fact that it does, is a problem. :ninja:

Haha yes!!! I'm the same. I'm ashamed that certain positions are tight for me.

ya. sometimes it just gets so frustrating, and you end up stretching too much. :D

it really is annoying tho.. it's just a joint angle.

11:00 AM: mod speed: 1h5m w/ {5:13 min effort, hills, mod but hard} + {longest hill @ 53s} + {shorter hill @ 24s} ::: (vista view path / hills)
- like 95F out.

solid session. really hard to run a mile (almost a mile) with 1.5 minutes of significant uphill. it's probably really good for you tho.

felt great after. then left foot & right hip slightly achy several hours afterwards.

left foot bothering me more tbh.. seems every time i do uphill, it hurts alot afterwards. I tweaked it going uphill. flat running doesn't bug as much.

update: last night stretching

crazy weird. was flexible as fu*k. well, not too weird: I think 3 days off had something to do with it. i've mentioned it before, days off improve my flexibility more than stretching.. :ninja: was nuts tho, got into positions that I can't ever get into, especially with hamstrings.

helped my right glute/hip ALOT.

left hamstring tendon is acting up tho.. but that's from other stuff.

also left foot was wrecked yesterday and a little today.. but started disappearing.

05/06/2019

2 sessions:

AM: 38 min very light

PM: 36 min very light
- 150 SPM ^^ LMFAO.
- that's an insanely slow cadence..

loool. 149 SPM for mile 3.

crazy.

< 150 SPM is really low. doubt I could go < 140.

legs pretty sore today. also feel like crap, too much stretching. left hamstring insertion feels janky. both adductors feel taxed (from speed).

sooo.. quick recap of my injury situation:
1. last night, didn't feel it at all during the track session and i cranked it
2. afterwards, did a few light movements and felt it a little, so started stretching - too much
3. today, more stretching - way too much stretching, injury area feeling like sh*t. legs feel like death.
4. light run in the evening: didn't feel the injury area at all. legs felt ok.
5. legs felt great afterwards, havent felt injury area.
6. no stretching, legs feeling ok

in a nutshell, need to stop doing one particular movement/stretch: the upright touch your toes/floor stretch (hamstrings). that movement really inflames the area. in general, need to be more careful with hamstring stretches because it makes the injured area feel worse.

one other thing. when doing the standing toe-touch/hamstring stretch, i can feel the pain in my right glute/hip/hamstrings etc, but if I *really* try to analyze where the pain is, alot of it is in my sacral spine. it's interesting.

so slow. incredible. felt great. lmfao.

plan tmw:
fri: no stretching, light AM & PM run
sat: light AM run, PM speed
- that's if i feel great/fine sat.
