Great, so that's probably a 36'' jump or so. Nice.

190605 Suddenly...out of no where. a good jump
Last week was raining all week long.
This week is all hot and sunny.. a little too hot to be exact.
I had been jumping EVERYday.... today is Wednesday, and is my 3rd session.

I just happen to be fasting also. so i have not eaten for about 26hrs.

with only 40 min today... I continue my 2 steps jump practice follow by full run up approach.

Honestly with 1 week off, I feel nothing sharp in the beginning of the week, 2 days ago.
But today I felt a little springy. My first few full run up felt good. And this happened....

AT Rim 4 (the highest among all 4)
I believe this should well be the highest jump since the start of 2019...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA2U1XRyfak

:ibjumping: very nice jump man! :headbang:

love the reaction too. get it.

Thanks Vag...

Is Monday today, the weekend was busy and i missed my once a week Squat session.
Last Jump session with that PR jump at rim 4.... is stuck in my mind.

I mean.. with my whole wrist over Rim 4.... this mean.. I could very possible.. able to dunk on that rim 4... provided everything is right.

But the fact is, I had never landed a dunk on rim 3. IF i could Land one on 4... I should Clearly land one at 3...

and If all 4 rims is conquered at this Low rim Court...

This would also mean.... and official 10' rim is very possible.

I am born in 1980... clock is ticking, knee is making noise....

Impossible.... vs I'm Possible...

My mind is playing games...

I think that you have much better chances at this if you palm the ball. Yes, a perfect lob allows you to have the full armswing power and you only need to slap the ball in , 6'' above rim are enough with the absolutely perfect thrown lob and perfect timing. But that will probably never happen, the average lob-dunk is almost equal to cuffed, 10'' above are needed.
On the other hand, if you can palm the ball good, you may lose 1 or 2 inches from the limited arm swing, but you can dunk it without the wrist being above the rim. It all depends on how well you palm it but i'd say the average palmed dunk minimum is 7'' above rim. Adarq you are the lob master so correct me if im wrong.
Now i know you have small hands, but ive had many co-players that had too and they palmed it better than me. Also there are new balls out, built to stick in your hands. e.g. i recently saw this one at a store, i could palm it firmly with 2 fingertips: https://www.badensports.com/products/grip-tread-basketball
Not saying that is the course you should take, but give it some thought.

counterpoint: jumpers like scoob (and me) need all the arm swing we can get. jumping that high for us is as dependent on technique as a high jump. messing with the technique at all, for example by holding something tenuously in one hand, is a recipe for not just losing inches but flailing around like an idiot.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

sunday: long very easy run 80+ mins @ 5:40+ (14+ km)
monday: strength/cross training
tuesday: extensive tempo (7 km) OR fartlek (mostly easy pace with mix of strides, hills, long tempo) 45 mins (8+ km)
wednesday: easy run 60+ mins @ 5:20-5:30 (11+ km)
thursday: easy run 60+ mins @ 5:20-5:30 (11+ km), strength/cross-training
friday: rest
saturday: short tempo 6-8x500 @ sub-4:00 (7 km)

strength would be:
- hops 2x10
- box jumps or ME SVJ 2x5
- squats 3x6-8 or weighted BSS/lunges 3x10/leg
- RDL/hypers 2x10-12 or SLRDL 2x10-12/leg
- upper push myo-reps or sets to technical failure
- upper pull myo-reps or sets to technical failure
- leg raises, holds, pallof presses

i'm def on the lob boat (obviously lol). :ninja:

for a long time, my dunk sessions were all misses. the excitement of better quality misses, really amp'd me up. then one day i landed one. as soon as i landed one, it got easier.

other than needing less vert & being able to throw lobs more efficiently (better lob "mechanics" than most lol), the only difference I had with scoob is: i'd do all of my attempts on the 10' rim. even when i wasn't that close, i did that. i figured i'd maximize my chances for the occasional "amazing jump" or "perfect timing". it does happen, that's for sure. from my experience, it happens most often on a great miss. but sometimes it happens on a make and those are epic.

not saying scoob should do that but, sometimes you jump "as high" as your target. there's a point where psychologically it's too high, but also a point where it's too small. 10' for me was right at the sweet spot - i guess because that's all that mattered to me. lower rims didn't give me the kind of stimulus to really put out max vert. higher than 10's can sometimes make you feel like you're stuck to the floor. though, i dunked on a few higher ones which felt great, but it's weird when you know it's higher than 10'.

as for palming, i could barely palm & my hands are larger than scoobs. I absolutely suck at palm style dunking. feels like a completely different movement. first & foremost, i wanted to jump high. second was landing dunks. so palm/dribble up attempts wrecked the "jump as high as possible" component & made it very unenjoyable. eeh. :ninja:

quick 2 cents.

:ibjumping:

fair. all 3 of you are also 1 million times more reactive than me, i never really gained anything from a longer runup and arm swing. Just 1-2 steps and power it up was what worked for me.

190711 an update
Raining season arrived
busy work season arrived.
sore knee nagging me for 2 weeks. (especially squat or jump session)
I started to take it easy.
Last 2 sunday Lifting session has not squat in it at all, only DEADlift and high Pull ... which is enough to make my hamstring tired.

Lunch basket session also limited to twice a week at most. And instead of jumping hard. I took out the medicine ball at 20lbs. and preform medicine ball throw. both upward and backward.
some single leg chair jump etc. tested my a jump here and there doing rim touch.. but thats about it.

getting pressure from work...really have no mood to wake up in the morning and work hard.... this could mean i am getting that burnout feeling from work.

half of 2019 is gone already also.
