very light: 1h01m ::: (grass, fasted)

first fasted run in a while, that was rough.

hip/glute/back was bothering me a bit after. sat down for a long time for work, felt my glute/back get achy in that "position". by the end of the day it felt like total crap. seems like lots of it stems at the spine (sacral).

04/09/2019

rest

lots of crazy stretching (been stretching alot lately, just not logging it. hamstrings have been getting looser (at least for my initial stretches)).

hip/glute feel better but still annoying. spine/sacrum inflamed.

10:00 AM: bw
- surprisingly "strong"

paused dead-hang ng pullups: BW x 7
full dips: BW x 8

weird. hip/glute/back felt awful yesterday. and today i went on a fairly solid run. easy sub 8 min/mi pace with no issues. odd. well actually, my right glute started feeling a little weird during the run but never got bad.

my sacral spine (issue) has been inflamed for a while now. i bet once that heals, everything disappears.. that's how weird that shit is.

04/10/2019

9:00 AM: light: 50min ::: (grass) /// surprisingly good run considering my hip/back felt awful yesterday - nice.

10:00 AM: bw
- decent
- lats/chest sore

5-10sec paused dead hang chinups: BW x 5
full dips + hold at the top: BW x 5 + (~30-45s)

woke up late this morning. was annoyed. said i'd run tonight.

04/11/2019

very light: 3hr
- https://www.strava.com/activities/2283403388

very solid run. felt great. very relaxed. :ibrunning:

stepped on a solid rock at mile 18 tho, on my already hurting foot. foot buckled. feels kinda janked up right now.

whatever.

dranked nearly a half gal grapefruit juice afterwards. literally nothing better than grapefruit juice after a very long run, or a run with massive water loss. it's bliss.

legs/foot feel beat up right now.

slept in. heat run. brutal but great.

04/13/2019

12:15 PM: very light: 1h50m ::: (grass/hills, -10 lb water) /// overheat + scorching hot = brutal fun

crazy losing ~10 lb water in 1h50m.. my big (sun-protective) hat was dripping, felt like it was raining.

had on my parachute wind breaker pants (which really insulate the heat) and a non-breathable long sleeve. was toast. hah.

felt great all day after.

solid slow concrete run.

04/16/2019

08:45 AM: very light: 1h30m ::: (concrete, fasted)

getting used to the vapor fly 4% clown shoes. probably will be great > half marathon distance road races - that's why i got them.

pretty good for a fasted concrete run.

i have quite the arsenal of highly effective but low intensity running techniques now:
- fasted runs (higher RPE)
- overheat runs (run slow w/ higher HR, increased water loss, very difficult)
- long hilly runs (extra strength stimulus)
- very long slow flat runs (mental strength)

10:45 AM: bw
- decent

3-5sec paused dead hang chinups: BW x 7
full dips: BW x 7

Are you still working in the it/coding/programming world? Do you enjoy working those kind of hours?

yup. doing backend/frontend programming, infrastructure etc. lots of "intense" coding.

Quote

i'd rather work less, but it's hard to find good people around here. our frontend engineer recently resigned (he was awful) and i've been trying to fix his code & get it ready for the next person (or group of people). so that's where most of the extra hours come in, picking up someone elses work load.

but ya i do enjoy it.

i get paid for every hour too soo, it's not like i'm working for "free" when i put in more hours. so that helps. people can get understandably "bitter" if they are routinely asked to do more work and not get compensated for it, ie salaried positions that overwork people. so i have a decent agreement there with my boss.

i'd love to work < 30 hours a week tho.. hah. i used to put in 10-20, and was fine with it. now i'm putting in tons but it's because we have a ton of stuff going on that requires a ton of development/attention etc.

but ya i love coding. :ninja:

i'd love to get to the point where i'm working < 30 and we (myself & company) are making big $$ just because everything is so efficient & well architected.

:D

peace man!
