got wrecked by mosquitos in the "forrest". stopped for a minute to do some dips/pullups, got swarmed. saw like 20+ trying to get on me no joke. can't do that in this forrest area when it's been raining, i guess.

08/14/2019:

aches/injuries:
- injury area feeling weird, but kinda ok..
- sacrum/tailbone feeling odd.

bw:
- 149 but major water retention

dinner:
- brown basmati rice + saute'd green bell pepper/jalapeno + avocado + 1/2 lemon + some soy sauce + salt, some blue corn chips, water
- first & only meal of the day, at 10:30 PM.. felt fine/no hunger.

09:30 AM: pool

07:30 PM: light: 27 min ::: (roads/mulch)
- hit a few harder strides at the end

08:00 PM: pool after run
- love it

signed up for "BEYOND+" membership today, a Bed Bath & Beyond discount membership.

it gives me 20% off of every purchase throughout the year (except for some select items).

today it saved me $55 total.

AND

I CAN APPLY IT TO THE PREVIOUS 14 DAYS OF RECEIPTS:

Prelude> (99.47 + 131.47 + 27.79 + 57.73 + 294.34) * 0.20
122.16

So between today & the previous 14 days worth of receipts: $55 + $122 - $40 = $137 :wowthatwasnutswtf: :wowthatwasnutswtf: :wowthatwasnutswtf:

finally a smart move by adarqui.. lmfao. :goodjobbro:

soooo.. i'm going to orchid the fu*k out of my porch. i think. got 2 in there. will have 5 in there by tmw, most likely.

aerial root style.. not the roots bunched up in a pot style. all of mine of very long root systems. that's what i like.

jajaja.

08/17/2019:

aches/injuries:
- sacrum/tailbone inflamed.
- right glute/sacrum/hamstring origin injury acting up a bit today.

bw:
- 149

dinner:
- chopsticks + saute'd broccoli/red chili/green bell pepper + white basmati rice + salt + soy sauce (dipping), roasted/salted almonds,
- milk chocolate raisins

10:30 AM: light: 1h20m ::: (canopy'd mulch trail)
- decent run, felt good
- forrest is humid as fu*k. more humid than outside the forrest.. lol.

two pool sessions: dog fun + rehab-ish workouts
- james jumps in easy now.. it's awesome. he just jumps in, usually leaping as far as possible into the pool, then he swims fast, going right for me, trying to get the ball that i'm taunting him with etc.. he swims so fast it's nuts. i try to escape sometimes and i can't even begin to escape, he's on me so quick. hah.

i have water in my ear right now, from pool life. so annoying. ;f

last 3 days: 145 lb.

eating: very clean/good, also with chopsticks.

08/18/2019:

10:00 AM: yard work (~4hr) /// more push mower lyfe
- https://www.strava.com/activities/2630653495
- lost well over 10 lb of water. by the end of the 4 hours, with a gallon of water hydration throughout, i was still -9 lb than in the morning when i woke up.
- that's nuts..
- that push mower really gets you drenched hah.

08/19/2019:

10:00 PM: swim: 35-40min
- non stop swimming (something to stay afloat and move around), while constantly throwing dog toys.
- was pretty tough by the end. didn't feel that bad until i actually went to get out of the pool, then felt kinda lightheaded/weird.. body wasn't used to that kind of exercise.

08/20/2019:

08:00 PM: light swim: 24min afloat ::: did double this yesterday.
- easier than yesterday but fatigued a bit in the shoulders/arms
- feels really good
- back/hips/legs/body feels really loose after.. kinda of mobility-ish.

wore my watch to see if i could get any good data. seems like it ignores HR for swimming. odd. maybe it can't measure in the water. HR was ~80ish throughout, so probably inaccurate. but prior to going in, standing/walking HR was 84 soo..

first tracked swim workout hah!

pizza from last weekend:

08/21/2019

07:00 AM: light pool workout: 15 min

07:00 PM: light yard work workout: ~30 min ::: single leg pine needle picking
- lmao
- right glute is significantly weaker than left :< atrophy or nerve related
- just picking up the pine needles that blow into my back yard from the forrest behind me
- probably ~30 min

11:30 PM: some light stretching
- targeting sacrum + adductors
- split stretch holds

something i did this weekend .. took a while believe it or not. not sure if i should keep chipping away at it and really clear it out.

before:

after:

hah.

i might get into some "urban farming". been thinking about it for a while. and i'm enjoying this yard work etc.

with my OCD, could potentially grow a ton of stuff at this house. i have alot of fencing, could setup vertical pots along the fences and grow like 1000 veggie plants/herbs/etc........... HEH. plus it'd be portable for when i eventually move.

would be cool to grow some of my own food. or even give it to people etc.

i imagine there's ALOT to learn.

i'm in a good climate for it tho.. can grow alot in SFL.

there's some house in a community across from mine, with a very small back yard, but tons of vegetable/fruit plants etc. yard is just packed. looks really cool. i wouldn't do that because i need lots of space for my dogs to run around .. but along the fences, tons of unused space. could grow so much there.

Im growing hot peppers at my balcony, many different breeds. This year i added cherry-tomatoes. All in pots, if you learn the basics its super easy.
I see yet another adarq-skwad forming. Or should i say farming?  :P
Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

my brother has a plot in a community garden near his place in connecticut. he brought down some of his hot peppers to the beach this week and we've been throwing them in different stuff, for example his gf made mango salsa with jalapeño yesterday that is good as hell. something my gf and i have been talking about doing in the UK. even if we don't have enough space in our place (likely), we could join a community garden. very good plan.

Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

bw = 146ish the last few days.

injury area feeling a bit better the last few days. the standing single leg yard work stuff really hit it hard. was kind of like single leg deadlift holds hehe. the fast run also loosened it up a bit.

08/22/2019

08:45 AM: light: 24min w/ mod mile ::: (mulch trail) /// gps might be wonky in the forrest
- https://www.strava.com/activities/2641205425
- gps all over the place. ended up doing 6:18 mile in there. could have been faster tho, not sure.

08/23/2019

dinner:
- solid stir fry
- getting better with chopsticks
- saute'd red bell pepper + jalapeno + red chili, basmati rice, an avocado, lots of salt

08:00 PM: light swim: 24 min ::: was looking to do a long swim (45+min), but lightning cut it short
- https://www.strava.com/activities/2645408731

sux that i had to stop. was fun. wanted to go for a long time.

awesome. how many variations do you have? also how often do they produce peppers?

i'm most interested in peppers, i eat them with every meal hah.

 :highfive:

jajaja. i like it. sounds like you should lead this farm squad.. :ninja:

i might get a few things this weekend!

awesome! that salsa you mentioned is making me hungry af. could crush some blue corn chips in some spicy mango salsa right now.

my boss has done that a few times and i'm always impressed by the quality of the home grown veggies. really makes you want to get into it. his mom once brought down some hot peppers and i crushed a ton of them with crackers and cheese, was so good. i remember it well because they were so good.

reminds me of what you just mentioned.

pretty cool man.

you look around yet? some good ones near by?

ironically, i checked one out today. Boca Raton Community Garden has a decent sized lot, but surprised that there's not more growing there. I think Coral Springs had a smaller lot with much more growing there. Lots of plant hippies in coral springs, it's cool.

i might get some simple stuff this weekend just to get started :ninja: :ninja: :ninja:

my new SP10 Marine Raider Bowie (combat/tactical/rescue) Knife.

it weighs 1.4 lb (that's HEAVY).

it's actually bigger than this pineapple, camera distortion in one of the photos.

i'm pretty sure i could pry open a manhole cover with it.

some quick photos:
