the banana baby propagation continues.

my dad gave me one, now i have like 8 (5 full grown + 3 more babies getting ready to be separated).

it's crazy. you separate them, re-pot them, and there's no wilting or anything. they just adapt to their new environment immediately, no problems. that's my experience so far at least.

trying to step my urban farming up bigtime. i hate worrying about food when there's a panic. i always go early (ie, hurricane prep).

but this could become a problem for 4-8 weeks.. who knows. so, trying to step up pepper/tomato production considerably.

here's some tomatoes (hand full every few days), new banana peppers, and some berries i don't know what they are yet:

^^ they smell edible .. tons on there. need to figure out what it is.

naturally growing "everglades tomato" plant that has just taken over this section of the fence.

did you find out what the berries are? there's an app that can tell you what a plant is using the camera. can't remember what it's called.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

having a nice garden seems like a very cool thing to do and it seems to be able to bring peace of mind..... i only have 1 plant due to lack of space.....

yea man it's great. requires a small level of care/attention, which helps you take your mind off of everything. no matter what i have going on, once i start taking care of my plants, i forget about it.

it's awesome. highly recommend getting into it more, if possible.

nah not yet.

i one of them is "google lens"? vaguely remember as well. planned on searching for that & trying it, but got side tracked.

i definitely want to figure it out tho.. because they look like heavy producers.

i gave it a slight taste test but didn't follow through completely.. hah.

down from 157 2.5 weeks ago, 148.

a little example of what happens when "necessity" kicks in. ie, curbing appetite, rationing, etc. just getting ready for forced calorie restriction.

feel great tho.

absolutely love this google lens app.

been wondering what some of this stuff was for a while.. most of this is just naturally growing in my back yard, except for the "fire on the mountain" plant. I picked that from a forrest. it died for months, then somehow re-emerged and has spread to several different pots, unreal. it's one of my favorite non-edible plants.

will take some better photos. these are just the google lens screenshots so i can remember what stuff is called.

this thing smells very edible, it's so odd.. smells oregeno-ish. grew through rocks, out of nowhere.

this is related to sunflowers apparently. started growing in several pots with other plants, again out of nowhere.

this thing is actually pretty big.. but it's starting to fall over. grew through rocks, out of nowhere.

this was growing in my uncut grass, in one spot. it looked so cool that i dug it up and put it in a pot.

my naturally growing everglades tomatoes. have 4 big bushes now. grew through the rocks. there's a definite theme here.

this weird thing grew, out of nowhere, in a cup i was trying to propagate a bougainvillea in. boog didn't make it, but this thing sprouted up, so i eventually put it in a pot.

i tried some of the black berries, not too tasty. apparently the green ones are toxic. grew through the rocks.. there's like 10 of these growing. too bad i can't really eat them. i mean maybe i could but it's not that tasty.. soo..

bunch of these have popped up through the rocks. looks cool early on, then starts looking shabby. letting them grow for a bit.

a more recent one.. through the rocks, like usual. really looks like that marvel-of-peru.. would be nuts if it starts growing flowers like that.

plants are fu*king nuts.

gn!

solid harvest this week. might not need to tap into my frozen store-bought ones.

goal is to eventually grow enough so that i could survive entirely on my own farming (other than buying rice/pasta/orange juice/bananas). eventually i need banana growth. i have like 8 banana plants but going to take a year for them to produce bananas. fuuu*k.

when i get my land, i need a steady stream of:
- peppers
- tomatoes
- oranges
- grape fruit
- bananas
- avocados (this one not likely for a long time)
- peas/beans

then just buy rice/pasta etc.

these banana peppers have been a very pleasant surprise, they really produce!
