okay i've taken ~5 grams of glycine right before i sleep for 3 nights in a row now.  another 5 grams during the day.  i can't say i feel much more refreshed when i wake up.  however, i can tell you for sure i am dreaming a lot more and they are more vivid.  certainly that could mean deeper sleep than usual.  just about an hour ago i had a clear vivid dream that i was having an out of body experience.  like, i was able to instantly lay down and fall asleep right away.  but i would sit up and be "out of body" right away.  kind of hard to explain but it took lot of effort to "get up".  have you guys ever have the experience of trying to keep awake when you're super tired and falling asleep (or is already sleeping) and your eye lids feels like they weights a ton.  well that's the feeling when i was trying to get up except it's not just the eyes lids that felt heavy, but the entire body felt heavy until you "break from it".  it felt very real...  but as i try to turn around and look at my physical body i wasn't able to see my self clearly at all.  then i realized i was dreaming.  pretty neat experience.  i woke up not long after so i was able to recall it clearly.

as for glycine's other effects i'll have to observe more.

it looks and taste like sugar even down to water solubility.  first time i mix it with 2-3 oz of water but it wouldn't completely dissolve so now i just put i on my tongue and wash it down with water.

last night (tuesday) we ran some late night (10:30 pm) indoor practice.  played until like 1 am.  got in about solid 60 minutes full court 5-5.  out of 10 members of the team, we've got 3 bag hogs that likes to ball dominate and have no vision and no assist.  sucks to have them...  makes the game not fun.  it's not my team so i haven't really spoke up yet but i'm going to have to soon...  still got another two weeks or so before season start so we'll probably get in few more practice runs.

day 8 wednesday week 3

warm up 1km fast walk from bus station to gym

SQ warm up 20kg 2x6, 40kg 1x6
SQ 5x6 65 kg (+5kg from last)
SQ extra 75kg x3, 85kg x3, 95kg x3, 85kg x6

OHP warm up 20kg 2x6
OHP 5x6 32.5kg (+2.5kg from last)

DL warm up 32.5kg 2x6
DL 1x6 75kg (+5kg from last)
DL extra 80kg x2, 90kg x2, 100kg x2, 110kg x2

db curl 12kg 3x10
dip 2x10

afterwards indoor hoop 2 hours, actual run time ~60 minutes.  i was a bit annoyed when an older guy call my perfectly executed hop step travel not once but twice.  total bs.  i had revenge on them though but finishing them off in the last two games.  first one i drove in, lean into the guy that call the travel on me, then dished it off to our center in the middle for an easy bucket.  last game last shot we had good ball movement and a teammate set me up for a 45 degree 22 footer that i banked it in (i'm known as mr. bank).  ka ching!  buahahahaha...  fun.

 :trolldance:   :derp:

weds night 2 hour indoor is something i look forward every week because 95% of the guys understand the game and no real bag hogs here.  just solid, good sportsman fun high quality games.

it's friday, a 5x5 workout day but the school gym is closed today to observe Taiwanese memorial weekend...  will miss Monday that's the actual Taiwanese memorial day this year.  plus my brother and sister are visiting from USA so looks like next week will probably be off.  i'll take the time to rest the body and do some stretches.

another rec league team practice tonight.  it's not looking too good.  half the 10 member team is very questionable (meaning, if i was the captain i would not ask them to be on my team), the other half is fine.  got in about 10 minute of shoot around and 70 minutes of full court 5-5.  i'm happy with my cardio and my game...  but some of my teammates...  where to begin.  oh well.

last 10 days due to family visiting = being inactive and eating out.  we visited a national forest park in central Taiwan it's about 2100 meters high (6900 feet) and did some hiking to see old cypress trees.  air is so fresh and nice there...  did about 6km day 1 and 4 km day 2.

yesterday played some 3-3 bball for about 90 minutes.  body actually felt sore the day after, 10 days is way too long of time off.

day 9 tuesday week 4

warm up 1km fast walk from bus station to gym.

SQ warm up 20kg 2x6, 40kg 1x6
SQ 5x6 67.5 kg (+2.5kg from last)
SQ extra 80kg x3, 90kg x3, 80kg x6 (10 days of no balling or lifting = 90 kg felt heavy)

BP warm up 20kg 2x6, 30kg x6
BP 5x6 45 kg (+2.5kg from last)
BP extra 50kg x6, 52.5 x6

row warm up 20kg 2x6
row 5x6 42.5 kg (+2.5kg from last)

OHP 20kg 3x6
db curl 12kg 4x12
dip 4x10

1km leisure walk to bus station.

don't do heavier squat sets after the main work sets. do them first if you're going to do them at all.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

what's the difference between doing extra's before vs. after the 5x5 working sets?  is it counterproductive that i'm doing extra right now?  or should i stick to only the working set?  logically it makes sense for me to do them after.  if i do the heavier weights first, it would seem harder to gauge how much extra sets and weights i can do.  doing it after, i can easily decide do more (or less) depending on how i feel that day.

heavier=higher risk. fatigue=higher risk. it's safer to lift heavier weights first and then back off.

i see what you're saying.  but i think i'm okay because i never try any "hero" lifts.  safety always first on my mind.  i will never risk injury to complete a rep at heavier weights.  steady and persistent over time is my primary focus this time.  i'll gladly train at 70-80% of my max 1rm.

You don't even really need to. At about ~80% of 1RM you're already recruiting all the motor neurons. If you use compensatory acceleration, even more so, you can probably use less weight.

push ups 4x30

my favorite weds night indoor 5-5 full court hoop.  a perfect count of 15 heads showed up so split into 3 teams.  my team ran pretty well i think we only lost 2 games.  2 hour time slot and we were on court about 75 minutes.  our team sat out last 15 minutes because couple guys were tired we had won 4 games in a row.  this was my first time running full court in 2 weeks.  felt slightly sluggish at first but once warmed up and it was back to normal.  my cardio condition remains excellent.  i still felt fresh after the game.

last day practice before rec league game 1 on saturday.  one of our "wannabe PG" fucking sucks.  he's a lot younger than me, only about 30 but is fat and overweight.  he calls for the ball on EVERY offense, and slows it down to a crawl.  he walks up slowly up the court nine out of 10 times and never move the ball around.  he likes to dribble and calls for players to go where he wants them to go instead of moving the ball and let it naturally happen.  SO FUCKING BORING.  i seriously hate playing with him.  i'm from the school of pushing the ball up the court as fast as possible, and get all the players to touch the ball.  this will put pressure on the defense and make them work and also every one gets touches and feels involved.  on top of his shitty offense he is way out of shape to play defense.  he's a fucking guard, he's suppose to be the first one back on defense since he only hangs around on top of the key.  but noooooo, mofo is just...  arrrg.

anyway, last tune up 5-5 practice.  got in 20 minutes of shooting and ran 70 minutes in door.  without our fat pig PG we won 4 games (2 and 3's to 15) easy.  with him, our pace slows to a crawl and it just isn't fun at all.  i'm going to yell at him tomorrow at the game if he does his dumb shit again.  his ONLY redeeming quality is he is a decent 3 point shooter.  he should just stick to that, and nothing else.  dumb ass think he can actually play.  SMH.
