Thanks Adarq! It was hilarious, I was going to make a quip to one guy who was (almost literally) drooling over her when we walked in but he was gone :(. She would have probably punched me in the arm but been laughing the entire time. Doesnt matter...I slammed my last martini and paid the check reallll quick when she text me from across the table and said "lets go back to the room...I need to fuck you".  :headbang:

Rec league tomorrow night...going to hit some back work later tonight and some speed work.

Did some squats and such last night. Not toouch volume or really heavy since I have a game tonight.

135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 365 x1, 315 x3, 315 x3, 225 x8. Really focused on exploding the weight up.

Did some reps at 500lbs for calf raises, 2x20. And did some box and depth jumps. Experimenting with dropping off a 36" box for depth jumps vs my normal 24" box. See how it plays out and maybe go up some.in the next few weeks.

Shit your calves are strong. How do you do those calf raise? Do you do them at a deficit? Do you pause at the top/bottom?

lol yeah 500 lbs on a barbell or on a leg press or something?

In my case, I just get tired after ~15 reps no matter the weight.

Sorry Ive been lazy logging lately, Ive always done my calf raises on a leg press (easy deficit), usually paused top and bottom. Ive done heavy weight on a smith machine standing on a 2x4 but my back wears out too quickly compared to my calves AND then im screwed trying to pull or squat heavy for a few days. :/ So...leg press it is! Sorry for the confusion.

Lost our rec league game. I played not bad but I wasnt very aggressive overall. Should have had ton of assists but we just didnt hit anything today. Oh well. I could have scored more but I really want some of our guys to get some confidence in their shots so we can he well rpunded come tourney time

Shitty week for lifting and my diet. Christmas shopping and work being crazy destroyed this week. So tonight I finally got in the gym and did some random junk, deadlifts since I missed them Friday and some back work.

BW 182lbs. ughh. Got to lay off the Ben & jerrys lol!

Deadlifts...forgot my belt and straps. Good excuse to go light and low volume to stay fresh for tomorrows game.

135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 405 x1, 405 x1, 315 x3. The 405s are a RAW PR! Grip was failing me on a normal double over so I used the switch grip thing and damn it felt weird but the 405 felt really easy? I'll take it.

Back work with  3-5 box jumps and depth jumps in between sets of rows, lat pulls, face pulls and some bicep work.

Felt good so i ended with some cleans. 135 x5, 155 x2, 185 x1, 205 x1. 205 may be a PR I'llhave to check but I caught it upright so i know i can get more since i didnt even need to 'drop under' the bar. Surprised myself.

Oh and I was so pissed that we lost I forgot to mention I cut my eyebrow slightly on the backboard Thursday blocking a shot and missed an off the glass windmill by inches post game. took off to close i think amd back ironed it but i was hand/wrist in the rim on it so pretty sure I had the height for it. Have to jump/dunk more and get my timing/rhythm back!

Thank you! She is and im quite thankful we're doing better!

Squatted today since we dont have a game tomorrow. Weighed in at 183lbs.....ugh.

Warmed up with some dynamic stretches and box jumps. Handful of depth jumps. Felt very springy.

Squats: 135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 365 x1, 385 x1, 365 x1, 315 x5, 225 x8, 225 x8.

Did some circuits of box squats for speed, step ups, leg extensions and calf raises. some SVJs between them and core work sprinkled in.

Last regular season game is on Monday so plan is to do some plyos and speed work tomorrow morning. Hit back/shoulders/biceps today woth about half a core workout. Weighed in at 184lbs because Ive been eating like shit lately. Still at or under 10% BF but i can tell small differences. Gotta get back to better habits. That said back work is getting progressively stronger so Im happy with that as it should help the squats and deadlifts. Speaking of squats I havent attempted a 405 in a long time but judging from last sessions 385 speed/power its definitely there. Going to work on some volume stuff after the season and try to get as strong as I can at <185lbs BW then hit a reactive/peaking cycle in late Feb, early march and see what happens.

Belated Merry Christmas btw guys!

Alright....just did some chest and triceps work. PRd on incline DB bench. 85s x8. Not bad. Left elbow feels a little weird during them, not painful or anything but maybe unstable. I'll keep an eye on it. Did a few sets of core stuff but Im sore from the game? Interesting. Ive never been sore ab wise from a game  (even if this was a game where I took a pounding smh). Ah well. Did some anyway.

So...the game. Sigh. Only one other guy showed up for us against the 2nd best team in the league. So we picked up some guys who were sitting around. It wasnt pretty. We lost 154-49. I scored the first 2 points, we hit a layup and a 3 and then...I scored the next 42 points. While being double teamed and occasionally triple teamed. One guy we picked up was legitimately shooting 25-28 foot jumpers as soon as he touched the ball. He literally went 1 for maybe 35. I tried setting guys up...no help we missed layups (kinda mad too because i had one sick left handed bounce pass through the lane off the dribble that i was SURE he was going to lay in). In short...we got DECIMATED. If i went to rebound they kicked for 3s. If i stayed on their #1 guy (my old training partner)...they killed us on the boards. It was just bad.

So I got mad. Partially from the losing, partially because I missed a few shots I usually hit but mostly from the double team and constanly hacking. How do you intentionally foul me when your up 70-80 points and you have 2 guys on me?! Me mad=me driving and trying to dunk on everyone lol

Missed 2 (plus a putback attempt), 1 i got hit pretty hard and lost the ball and the second I back ironed. But...I got 2 down cleanly! Firstone was even off 1 leg which shocked me because I cuffed it, cocked it back semi Lebron style (albeit MUCH less extension lol) and tried to murder the rim. I thought for sure I was going to get rim checked but I hit it. The second was probably one of my best jumps in a game ever and I have zero clue how it happened because I was off balance and literally falling forward in my plant (maybe I got more hip/glute into this hump?!?! I felt quite leaned forward like a Sir Issac plant almost? Whichis vastly different than my usual quad dominant plant). Either way it propelled me FORWARD and up. The guys said my head was a couple inches from the rim but it looked really close so I ducked my head and had dunked behind me (my head was in the net but arm and ball were behind me like a french curl almost). Anyway I thought i over jumped the dunk and back ironed it because i had my arm at about a 45* angle and my hand and wrist were in the rim, only reason i knew it was in was because the ball hit me in the back of the head going through lol! They say their big (6'2ish lol) jumped but I never saw him so no poster IMO but Im definitely going to being experimenting with a more hip dominant plant adter the tourney!!!

Oh and I mayyy have been poteniated highly from last nights power cleans up to 205lbs supersetted with high depth jumps. I felt VERY springy tonight. Lots to think about now.

Sucks no one on your team showed up.  How fuckin bad can these guys you picked up be jeezus.  They couldn't score anything lol wtf..

How'd that power clean + depth jump complex work you think?  Like is your power clean very glute dominant or do you get a lot of quad into it?

I can see how the catch of the cleans can potentiate the ankles for the DJ's, but if your cleans are very glute oriented and DJ's very quad oriented, the potentiate stops with the ankles only right?

Idk. Im going to lean towards quad dominant but probably less so than my depth jumps for sure. Im focusing on triple extension and bar speed on my cleans so theres more glute/hip emphasis for sure compared to a DJ which i focus on GCT them height on.

That all said no i dont think it stops at the ankles. I actually felt very explsoive overall at the end of Sundays 40min or so block. Like fully 'turned on' muscle wise. The cleans for sure get glutes involved along with ankles and the DJs hit the ankles as well as the quads while firing the glutes somewhat (less than cleans imo but still). Im definitely doing the same block before my next jump session. Just to see.

Squatted tonight at 184lbs BW.

135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 365 x1, 385 x1, 365 x1, 315 x3, 315 x3, 225 x5.

Low volume but had good speed throughout.

Circuits of speed box squats, step ups, calf raises and leg extensions with some SVJs sprinkled throughout. 2 circuits total. Again not a ton of volume but tourney starts Monday then I'll be back to some heavier workloads. Pretty good sessionfor a 10pm start time.
