Back from vacation...did not do a damn thing while I was gone lol! No lifting, jumping or even editing. Will get on that tonight or tomorrow. Gonna go shoot for a few. Tomorrow if I feel good I'll have a mini jump session.

I ran after the kids does that count? 😂 But really it wasn't too sedentary. Took lil man snorkeling and such. Lots of swimming.

Hit some light back work after hooping last night. Took a few games for my body to loosen up but it felt good. Handle and jumper were surprisingly nice after game 3 or 4. Lots of people so not much time to jump/dunk between games. Few light ones here and there and messed around and posted up a buddy half heartedly and dropstepped a weak two hander by accident lol! The one leg bounce seems legit, missed a finger roll because I hit my forearm on the rim. Left it long. Very weird feeling to be up like that off one so effortlessly. Deadlifts after work tomorrow.

Oh and Im still working on this editing junk lol! I've re started maybe 4 times. 😂

Took two weeks off from all lifting due to some patellar tendinitis (I think) in my right knee. Weighed in at 195 last night. Holy fuck me. Going to switch up training. Gotta lower volume on upper again and raise weight. Hit a plyo/speed day again and start peaking compound lifts. Paused 405 on my squat last night. Doubles at 365. Way back on volume. Did hit some seated box jumps and such. Definitely feel powerful but no springy. That was evidenced today while hooping. Got "up" but felt like a struggle. Hit some lobs and such but I could definitely feel all the extra weight lol!

Need to rededicate myself to logging. Keeps me focused, motivated, and on point with training sets/reps/schemes.

your knee is ok now though? if it's not, i'd baby it some more, that sounds intense if it's still bothering you. if it's ok though, ease into it!

and ya, that feeling of extra weight to the point where you can feel it simply weighing you down, what a sh*t feeling.

Yea it's really weird tho. My quickness and overall speed don't seem affected at all. And my SL jumps seem just as high as ever. It just feels completely different. Like I'm not getting up but I am? The knee isnt too bad. Especially if I make sure to warm up and stretch some before "letting go" and really getting after it. The crazy part is, judging by the mirror, I'm still sub 10% BF. Visible 6 pack still. Still vascular. Legs actually look great IMO. VMO is as good as I've ever seen it. Little bit of extra chunk in the love handle area where my diet is crap lately but that's about it. So idk lol

Quick vid of said box jumps while I was warming up (2 separate days lol)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs7n-_rg7Pc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs7n-_rg7Pc</a>

Thinking about it I'm still exhibiting decent tendon stiffness so i SHOULD be feeling "springy" instead of just powerful. Gotta be the extra weight.

Deadlifts and such late last night. Exhausted. Came in at 192.6lbs.

Extensive dynamic warm up and some jumps.

Deadlift pyramid to a single 455 pull. 3x2 at 405 with a drop set 315 x8 for speed on the last set. Hit core and some machine leg work to finish. Wasn't the greatest session just too tired but managed ok. Working a 12 today and can not wait to rest tomorrow.

Yeah that was a 3am workout lol! Less springy more raw horse ponies it felt like.

Squatted today. BW at 192.4 lbs. Actually had 7.5 hours of sleep. Felt good. Warmups were on point.

Pyramid up to a 405 PAUSED SINGLE!  :personal-record: :personal-record: Honestly felt like I had 425 in me. Played it safe tho and dropped to 365 for 3x2 paused with a dropset 315x6 for speed at the end. Quick machine circuit and a few box jumps. 2/3 stepped a 10'9" touch at the end which is awesome for post lifting for me. Time to stretch and eat!

I crave that springy feeling. Doesn't come too often for me: explosive - yes, fast - yes, but it almost always feels muscle driven. Notice anything that correlates it? Tendon stiffness obviously and that gets built over a long time but for peaking in particular. I've only got two days logged in the summer season when I felt particularly bouncy. I think you are more CNS/neuro driven so I dunno if anything you do would work for me but it's worth a shot

I don't really do anything to cultivate it besides slam some plyos before hand.. usually. I think the "springy" feeling is DEFINITELY cns based. The only semi correlated points I can attest too are these: when I feel a challenge (someone else dunking around with me, trash talk etc) and if I have played a lot. Granted a normally don't lift as much volume if I'm playing a considerable amount so that may play a part as well.

Deadlift day last night from 1230am to 3am 😂

Weighed in at 194lbs.

Warmups felt fantastic. Was semi springy on depth jumps but definitely explosive feeling.

Pyramid to a a 455 single which had ok speed. 4x2 at 405. 315 for 5 fast reps. Then hit some machine work (quads, hams, glutes, calves). Finished rotating some box jumps with core work. Got hyped and hit a few 41" seated box jumps. Standing was ok and a 2 step was around 42" max. I had some knee bend to get to the 41" but definitely didn't want to clip toes 😂. Overall the workout was better than expected for the time frame and all. Went out and shot at the house for about 20mins to cool down

Have had a couple junk workouts. Still sitting at 192-194lbs. Have shot and played some and am quick, handle is almost back consistent, jumper as well but I'm not springy. Did some math and I'm about 45-50lbs short on squat and 20-25lbs short on deadlifts to get back to where I was relative strength wise at 182lbs. So the immediate goal is to get those back up then hit an explosive block with jump squats/hang cleans and some plyos along with a ton of dunking to see how my body reacts.

Tough week continued. Pulled Tuesday at 192lbs. Top single at 475. 4x2 at 425. Felt really good with the exception of my head feeling like it was going to explode (thought it was allergies. Learned Thursday that it was actually a retrograde virus that's still kicking my ass today, Friday). Managed virtually no sleep Tuesday night between work and this sickness. Tried to play ball Wednesday night and my body just wasn't having it. Woke up with my right knee sore and creaky Thursday morning. It's getting steadily better but I'm shelving squats until at least Suday. Hopefully this virus will have run it's course by then.
