LBSS, we've covered it before but I hate my knees fpr some stupid reason lol! I pretty much only wear Jordan brand stuff and all his shorts have a long inseam. :/ I guess 5'10 guys arent supposed to hoop bahahahaa! I have 2 pair with a 10" inseam that fall right at mid knee but the 12" ones are long. Ive just gotten used to it over the years I guess.

2 hour skills session wrapped up. Gyms hot as fuck. No AC in here and it hit 94*f today. Much sweat achieved.

Shoulder is sore ish. No sharp pains just a dull ache. Really felt it when shooting from 23+ ft out. Will ice tonight for sure.

Took it easy on the dunks because of said shoulder but got a good 20 min session in after the workout. Tried some stuff off one leg, cant really control the ball and going for it with 2 hands feels weird off one foot, guess I need to jump higher off 1. Had no timing for lobs off 1 foot, way over ran the ball. :/

BW at 181.7lbs right before workout. Seems to want to stay right around there.

Lol! True...its like a furnace in that gym. Good for cutting tho!

Had to skip Fridays lifting :( buddy called me up and said...hey, wanna go pick up a car in Florida?  So I tossed some clothes in a bag, and we drove ~800miles straight through, got there Saturday morning, loaded the car on a trailer, and drug that bitch back to the house getting in around 11pm Saturday night. No sleep was had lol! Shes in the garage now getting a thorough once over before we start building here up. Looking for mid 500s hp on pump gas, fun street car :D

I slept all day yesterday basically and I'll be back lifting tonight!

Midnight Monday Sept 1 2014

BW at 181.2lbs pre workout
Good energy, ready to go since I missed Friday :/ shoulder is ehh, only a dull ache at weird angles.

-stationary bike+dynamic warmup+jumps

-squats
(Warmup) b135x5, b225x3, b315x1, b365x1 (just below parallel)
(Worksets) b315x5, b315x5, b315x5, b225x8. I'm getting just below parallel on the 315s I feel, not quite ATG. I think its mental as I can pause rep a single 315 ATG. Gta push through it. Really trying to explode past the stick point and all the way through.

-paused calf raises on leg press
550lbs: x12, x12.
315lbs: x20. Some guy wanted to leg press...so I just pumped out a 20 rep set, real good pump!

-hypers
45lbs: x10, x10, x10. Trying for 12 rep sets next.

-stepups:
120lbs: 3 sets of 10 per leg. Felt better, still hard on set 3 last reps.

Nice core circuit to finish. Overall a good workout.

Tuesday Sept 2 2014....this will be long lol

Hoops. Huge day for me. Huge. Quads are mildly sore when I arrived at the gym a little late.  Guys were already running full court so I couldn't do my usual warmup. There's a 9'6" goal off to the side tho and while I HATE shooting on it its fun to mess around on...I decide short goal dunks are an acceptable warmup today. Little bit of dribbling and about 15 mins of short goal dunks and Ive got a sweat broke, can feel soreness fading in quads. I shouldn't be getting up like I feel I am on sore quads, but I am. And I'm just messing around. I decide today might be quite fun. I finish loosening up with some light stretches as the game thats been going on ends. Fast forward a few minutes, Ive hit a deep 3 and a pullup j haven't taken anything to the rack yet but I feel 'ready', definitely fully warmed up. I get the ball on the wing and size up the D. No one in the lane and the opposite block defender has his back to the ball (smh), I give my guy a slow left to right cross and a quick step to the right. He plays good D and slides with me so I hit him with a hesitation dribble and fake the pull up. He bites, hard. I can see him raise up out of his stance and lean forward to go for the shot block/contest. One quick dribble and I blow by him and take off right at the block off 1. Before I can think I ram home a one hander and am jogging back down on D thinking WTF just happened?

My first step felt ridiculously quicker than usual and I dunked off 1 easily...without thought. I didn't get a chance at anymore dunks during the games (I HAD a backdoor cut for a lob but my teammate didnt see me) but I'm totally ready to dunk after the games!

A long 6'4 kid and a 6'2 guy with some decent vert started dunking after the games so I decided to see whats up as usual. After a few easy dunks I decided to go for it, legs feel great now. Results... my first 360 off the dribble!!! Just missed a pump reverse off a lob and caught a tomahawk off glass that I felt touch my shoulder blades! Even got a few off 1 foot. By this time Im amped up and the other guys dunking and going on is just feeding the fire. After tossing a few lobs to guys I had one of them bounce the ball in front of the rim and I tried a BTL...not happening lol! I need to get the transfer down wayyyy quicker.  At this point weve been dunking for about a half hour and im starting to tire out so I gave it one last shot at something big (for me lol) and tried a 360 off a lob. Idk wtf happened but I exploded out of the plant, easily one of the quickest takeoffs I've had and it showed. I killed the 360 with both hands! The jump itself felt insane, quick, powerful, the triple extension just happened so smoothly. This is the type of jump Ive been trying to get too!

All said I am geeked for the next few weeks! I did NOT expect to be having any progress this late in a strength block of workouts, its very strange. I dont think im doing anything differently but I seem to be jumping great even when sore. Im hoping this translates over to the RFD/peaking cycle!!!!

Sorry for the long post but my mind is racing right now trying to figure this all out and at the same time...not really caring as ling as it continues!

Lol thanks Vag, very succinct recap! :)

BTW, since you mentioned awhile back about how 'lightly' I was dunking I've made a conscious effort to not hold back as much and it seems to be working. I'm putting down more technical dunks with more frequency. Im chalking it up to letting go making the motions quicker. Thanks again!

Went and played some full court tonight for a few hours at a different local gym. Didn't have many chances at any dunks in the games, teammates missed me on two oops. One even through a bounce pass...while I was pointing at the rim on the cut. I jumped right over the pass smh. I guess he didnt believe me. :( So I took a shot at one on a 2 on 1 fastbreak but the guy fouled me pretty good on the arm and I lost the handle and back ironed it. Would have been my best game dunk/poster ever, easily. Oh well. Messed around for a few minutes afterward trying to get the timing down on my lobs.

I usually lift Friday mornings but I may go play and lift tomorrow night, I realllllly want to get this lob 360 and Im always dead after deadlift day. We shall see.
