Hang in there mate. Vent as much as you need to. I can't imagine how hard it would be for you right now but like you've been doing. Channel your energies into positive things.  just to remember to control what you can control and try and let the rest go.

Well....some more shit happened. I'll update later. Im so lost and confused now. I hate this.

Played ball today after work. Jumper was off, but handles were ok. Bounce was average. Ran through some drills between games but just couldnt bring the energy in games. Idk if its because i didnt have any or Im just quite demotivated. Sigh. Went and hit chest/shoulder/tri afterward for 2 hours. Going to suck tomorrow.

Still here. Kinda...weighed in at 176 today. Bleh. Seems the only thing suffering is my squat tho. Got pinned at 385 last night, just didn't have it. Trying to make a conscious effort to eat more but i just dont feel like it. Did pull 405 for a 3x3 last week and incline bench 225 for 3. That surprised me greatly. Sleeping like shit. Just got to keep going.

damn - just read about your situation, can't relate to the level of anguish this must have put you through but like yourself and everyone else has said; you deserve better and your continued focus on other aspects of your life is the way to go for sure - and you're recent efforts in the gym are pretty impressive considering.

p.s. totally agree with the above points that this forum really does have some brilliant members and input, having been around since being a 15 year old kid its pretty awesome to see how everyone has stuck together over the years.

Still lifting every day. Still semi depressed but i think its getting better. No clue what she wants anymore, hell, she doesnt even know. So ive decided to start moving on. I wont wait on someone who, even though i love her, doesn't know what she wants and wont try to make me a priority  even though she 'cant imagine me not being in her life'.

So...BW is stuck at 177-178lbs. Squat is weak. Started some volume last session, 315 3x5 and 225 3x12 along with some 365lbs singles. So weak. Deadlift is stuck at around 425-435 1rm and 405 3x3. 315 3x10 is easy enough tho. Guess I need to build some strength back up. Decently bouncy lately on the court...when Im in the mood. :/

Anyways thats the short synopsis lol

Unfortunately men may never recover fully from a breakup. The thing which confounds it in your case is she will drift in and out of your life on a whim, disrupting any healing process that you may have initiated and you have to start over before you've pulled yourself out fully out of the well of despair. The first step is recognising that you're never really truly going to give up on this woman/relationship because you have so much invested in it and as a man it's impossible to give up on the one true love - or what you think is the person capable of being it (but hasn't been that way).

The only advice I can give is to take a step a back and read some stuff, eg Avoidant: How to Love (or Leave) a Dismissive Partner and Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help YouFind - and Keep - Love.  These books will help you realise that sometimes the person you want is fundamentally incompatible with your needs or vice versa .. even though you've got a great deal of attraction and affection for her, it just doesn't make for a healthy relationship for reasons that are not in your or her control.

I would completely disagree with this.  You read too much "studies" and "articles".  There have been many men who have completely recovered from a serious break up.  Recognizing that he'll never truly give up on this woman?  There has been many men who realized it's for the best and truly gave up on it.  If you can't give up on it due to big investment, that's simply the working of the ego that, if recognized, can be reversed.

A man should also realize there is no such thing as one true love.  True love exists.  Not ONE true love.

The scientific method is limited in its OBJECTIVE process to measure and understand SUBJECTIVE concepts such as emotions, creativity, imagination, consciousness. 

The word "never" is a simple word used to fit with the limited mind.  The mind is simply the product of all the knowledge and information gathered throughout our learned experiences and uses these information to logically get from A to B to C.  It can only comprehend with things that are measurable and fits in with what you have learned.  If it doesn't and can't understand, this creates that "fear of the unknown" humans are famous for.

This is classic example of human beings still in its primitive stages.  To constantly rely on our analytic mind will not get us anywhere we need to be.  Abstract concepts such as creativity and emotions were there first when we were babies and then we learned logic.  Creativity and emotions were there in our ancestors and using these infinite concepts, we invented logical thinking to use as tools, NOT to take over as the primary way of living.

Other peoples studies will not do much good for someone in Chris's situation.  Any study is limited by the limited mind of the measurer.  This can work in some instances in dealing with purely analytic concepts, but when it comes to abstract concepts, it won't work.

The root of all suffering is a result of the ego, and the realization and exploration of this leads to peace.  If you understand how the ego is creating the suffering, then you can transcend it.  My advice therefore, would be meditation.  Try it with an open mind.  It is not a religious thing at all.  People from all religious, spiritual, atheistic backgrounds use it.  It is just a practice, one of you and your mind (which is responsible for all suffering).

Man's biggest flaw is relying on the analytic mind and forgetting that it is our abstract mind (consciousness, creativity, emotions, etc...) that INVENTED the analytic mind (language and logic, etc..).  The createe (is this a word?) cannot understand its creator.  This is why trying to understand the emotions on a logical level won't work.

Also i would loke to add that those books are just the analysis of an abstract situation from the limited mind of one man.

There is a reason why in times of despair, friends and family telling us logical stuff like "its gonna be okay" or whatever logical advice they give never help much. There is a reason why abstract stuff like a song or a poem or a movie helps the healing much better. We dont understand why on a logical level but it taps into our human side. The creative side. The path to healing from an emotional struggle is not an analytic blueprint, but the exploration of the emotions themselves in a mindful state

Thanks guys....been training a kid who wants to play college ball. 2 weeks in the weight room and hes doing really well. all simple shit. Good lil player, were looking at some small local colleges (juco, 1 d3 and an naia) just to get him in and hooping somewhere. After that hos play can speak for itself. So ive been lifting regularly.

Somehow....at 178lbs I managed to deadlift last night at 8pm and squat this morning at 10am. And did well.

Deadlift : 135 x10, 225 x8, 315 x1, 405 x1, 425 x1, 405 x3, 405 x3, 315 x10, 315 x10, 315 x10. Cool. Some assistance work.

Squats....hams sore...so this was unexpected. 135 x10, 225 x5, 315 x1, 365 x1, 365 x1, 315 x5, 315 x5, 275 x8, 275 x8, 275 x8. Box jumps.

Great bar speed on everything. Sweet.

Fucked up tonight. Dammit.

Mood: rage, anger, revenge, betrayal. Fucking ready to go beast mode.

135 x10, 225 x5, 315 x1, 405 x1, 445 x1. Fuck! Had 455 in the bag but bitched out. Barspeed on 445 was great. Buddy took video on iphone...in slow mo. Sigh. Anyways still a PR at this weight!

405 x5, 405 x5, back to back 405 rep PRs! 315 for a 3x10.

Did some core and box jumps after. Finished with ham curls for high reps.

Still so mad and hurt but i know now whats up and what i need to do. Time to make a monster in the gym and on the court!
