Alrighty. This isnt the best but....its what I have right now. I was texting the fiance about you guys doubting me (I hate being doubted, I think a man is his word/reputation :) I do understand you're doubts though) and she says 'babe, I think I have an old vid on my phone' and then texted me this vid which IveACT uploaded to youtube (first upload ever woohoo!). Anyway shes says the file info dates it to Aug 3 2012. :)

Not sure how to embed on phone sorry. :(

lol, quality ain't bad but i think you need to have a chat with your GF about framing shots.

 :lololol:

I just can't understand people like that... I mean why the heck would you "frame" it like she did there? It's just crazy.

Also, they weren't doubting you, they were mocking rip. Rapror requested vids not to see if you are lying, but just because he would enjoy seeing 40+ on vid like we all do. The rest part was all about rip.
Great jump btw! The quality is very nice, don freak out about it. No comments about 'framing'  :derp:
Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

---

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

Ok, sorry this took so long guys, had a bunch of serious family stuff come up. Anyway I'll start with the beginning, Thursday night...

I got to the game 5 mins before tip off so I didn't get a chance to video any jumps before the game (don't worry lol), anyway tried to get loose and warm in that short time but that wasn't happening so on with the game. We ended up losing by 2 in double OT to a team that shouldn't have even been on the court with us. Looking back at the game they actually played very smart for this years new rules (no refs/FTs/call your own fouls...gay yes, but it saved someone money I guess SMDH). Bottom line? I have NEVER been fouled that many times. Every time I got the ball in any position to score, I got hacked. The guy guarding me straight up told me and I quote "hey, I'm not going to let you have any baskets, period" (this was after he had fouled me on back to back possessions). I'm a VERY chill/laid back individual that just loves to have fun but even I got angry at this BS and almost got in a fight midway through the second half. Anyway I missed a deep three with 6 seconds left that would have won the game so I'm pretty down on my performance. I ended up with 26 points and 11 rebs but neither my team or I got any rhythm going and we shot poorly. Our team captain had a small chat with the league director (who saw parts of the game) so we'll see if we get our refs back next year.

Since we went double OT I didn't get a chance to make multiple jumps/vids afterward I only got one shitty attempt in (I had just played 47 out of 50 mins lol)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ClSTTqzsoY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ClSTTqzsoY</a>

For reference the pad on the backboard is 9'6 and I'm 5'11 in shoes. I appear to be a few inches short of the pad so I'd call this jump 37-38" at best IMO.

I will get a few more vids of better jumps for you all next week but in this vid you can see what I mean when I say I feel like I'm slowing down in my plant. I need to transition my speed better to see better results jumping ( or get stronger lol)

I have another workout tonight, almost time to go get it!

Oh as always, comments, questions, advice or observations are always welcome!

Also found a few older vids that I had forgotten about!  :)

These are from awhile back (december time frame) but hey there vids lol!

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0olnLlzSjU" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0olnLlzSjU</a>

This is from the gym were the first vid is taken. It's "framed" better lol but damn I plant so slooooow. GAh! :raging:

And this one is from the same gym, I thought I'd deleted it after sending to my buddy but I guess not.  :D Anyway its not a 40" jump but rather a weak ass one hander with no real run up. I looked at it closer and my wrist appears at the rim so it should be 37ish inches being that my reach is 7'6" (so 30" just to touch the rim). Ignore the commentary  ;D that was for him because he always says I can't dunk off one step lol which is usually true, I lose grip on the ball alot.  :-[

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4_Xdy8C8Lg" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4_Xdy8C8Lg</a>

Anyway there are a few vids, i promise to get better ones soon.

Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up

Sorry, fixed the last vid. Oops.

UA, if you look at the fist vids vs that one you can see the difference in backboards/pads. In the first vids the pad is much lower than versus that goal as the backboards vary. hell, I'll measure it again next tuesday.

You remind me of Jacob Tucker for some reason... you load a lot on that right leg.

Sat Mar 9, 2013

Bodyweight at 179lbs (morning), 181lbs pre workout
Good energy, no injuries or fatigue.

Banded Squats:
185x5 225x5 275x3; 325x3 x3 x3; 345x1 365x1(depth wasn't great, failed IMO) 325x5 (1/4 squats for speed). The bands are definitely helping force me to finish lifts out. the quarter squats at the end really hit the quads hard, hoping they'll translate to rvj decently.

Banded RDLs (deficit/off 4" box):
225x5 x5 245x3; 265x1 x1 x1; 295x1 (fail, I got the weight halfway up but couldn't power through the bands to lockout, tweaked my low back slightly as well so i dropped it, try again next week)

Jump squats:
5 w/50lbs, 5 w/ 80lbs, 5 at BW

Depth jumps/Bounds in series into box jump (18" boxes, 40" box jump to end):
6 circuits

calf raises on leg press machine:
6x3 at 550lbs

ham curls:
6x3 at 120lbs

KB swings:
skipped

Finished with core work and tried a few jumps but my back was already tightening up so I skipped jumping as well. Ice, ibuprofen and rest, got to get healed up for Tuesdays game. I'm a little sore/tight this Morning (Sunday) but I'm full ROM and no sharp pains so I'm hoping I just pulled it a little. Had a great workout going up until then, these banded squats kick my ass. Good stuff.

Depth jumps after strength work? Not safe.

Well, I don't post the lifts in the order I do them but I have done depth jumps post squats before (not immediately after but 10-15 minutes later). Why is that a bad thing?

Legit curiosity, i don't want to hurt myself doing something dumb. :)

I'd think because my muscles would be fatigued and I'd risk injury due to the shock of landing?
