Imagine being like that every day of your life, like in my case.

We lost Tuesday by 4. 115-111. I played the last 47 seconds. SMH. New hours at work mean I'm going to miss basically every 'early' game. What kills me is I KNOW we would have destroyed this team if I had played. I know that sounds cocky but there's just no way we lose with another scorer on the floor. Sucks.

So I took my frustration/anger out in some pickup games on the other courts. Jumper and handle was on point which made me even madder lol! I missed a putback attempt because I couldn't control the ball, stupid small hands! Made up for it a few minutes later with what I thought was my first SL dunk in a game in years (think like 10 lol pre knee injury in high school). I wasn't quite sure what happened because I didnt feel very boucy so I checked the goal after the game... it was lowered to ~9'10" . -___-

And that was my Tuesday.  I need to get back in the weight room on a schedule. Too varied lately. Achilles is weird, some days it feels fine, others it'll be sore until I get it warm. Sigh.

Few updates. I haven't been in the weight room in a few weeks just been playing on game days so twice a week. Finally had back to back days were my achilles was completely ache/pain/soreness free. Huge improvements lately with it. Feels 100% for the first time. Soooo with that said im going to ease back into a weight lifting routine.  Since I wasn't 100% I was able to get the Select tryout moved back into the summer. My buddy that ive been training went to their Atlanta camp and came away as one of three guys chosen for the team. He's stoked!

So thats my updates lol! Hopefully I can start logging religiously again!

What about these:

http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:209161/sku:35578600/nike-kobe-venomenon-mens/red/maroon/?cm=kobeshoes_search_redesign

I can't find Kobe 8s on eastbay... only these ^^^

There is only one entry of Kobe 8 and if you click on it it redirects you to the main eastbay.com page.

Off-topic but it was mentioned in here so i will revive it, because i have been searching for a similar shoe with raptor ( low tops lightweight responsive bball shoe that can be used for running too ) and i have been re-reading a lot of reviews. I replied in the past to raptor that Venomenon it is just a cheaper and weaker version of kobe 8. That might be true to some extent, but if you forget the Kobes it seems that Venomenon 4 still it is a great shoe, very positive ratings in all crucial aspects ( lightweight, fit, responsiveness ) and in a much better price. It is a very good value-for-money choice.
I also read great things about CP3.VII. NOT the latest special version ( called AE if i am not mistaken ), the 'normal' ones seems to be better. Light, fast, springy etc.
Just saying.
Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

---

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

i just picked up some lotto tennis shoes that i'm really digging. they were cheap, too. wide, flat base; super duper lightweight; low ankle but basketball amount of padding rather than running amount. tennis shoes have pretty much the same requirements as bball shoes IMO.

lotto quaranta II, to be specific: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Lotto_Quaranta_II_White_Navy/descpageMSLOTTO-LMQ2WN.html?gclid=CIvI0cy-_L0CFfNxOgodYw4Atg

I ordered these:

http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:208715/sku:30855003/nike-zoom-speed-tr-mens/grey/white/?cm=trainingshoes_sportpage_redesign#sku=30855006

They'll be here in a week or so (ordered them last week), and I'll report on how they feel.

oh i dig those. they're 1.5-2 oz heavier than the lottos but 9.3 is pretty light. weight is my main beef with most tennis and bball shoes. sick color options, too. nuts i wish i'd found them before i picked up the lottos. white is booooooring, i'm tryna get that total orange/gym red shit.

Definitely. I like my shoe to look cool, if I'm paying all that money for it in the first place. If I make ~400$ per month, then I want my shoes to look cool and give me performance as well if I'm to pay 1/4 of my salary on them.

Alrighty. Went and shot around and jumped for the first time in a long time (sans game days) and I'm slightly disappointed in my jumps but not too bad considering the circumstances.

Bad: No consistent lifting since February, body weight at 179-182lbs (ughhhhh), and haven't had any jumping sessions in a long time.

Good: still got a few dunks down, max vert was around 41 maybeeee 42". Definitely not back to where it was.

So, with these factors and games on Tue/Thu my plan is this:

-Train Friday/Sun, games on Tues/Thu
-start weights out low and work upward, stay explosive in the lift (no grinding), cutting back on upper body volume
-get weight back to the lower 170s range
-spend some time on ME jumps after games since I'll be warm/loose

Goal is to be back around a 45" vert in 4-6 weeks then re-evaluate and push for more.

Won our game tonight. Super pissed though about how we played. Too many guys trying to do things they aren't suited for then expecting me to bail them out when it doesn't work. I'm strongly thinking of sitting next game and letting them get their asses beat so we can get back to playing help defense, cutting and moving on offense, moving the ball and playing the game right. Way too much iso ball going on (and this coming from a guy who gets probably 40% of my points of wing iso situations.)

SMH.

Didn't go to the game last night. Turns out one of my buddies didn't either and we got thrashed. No biggie since it was a regular season game. I spent the evening wrenching on the 'race' car instead, good progress was made. :)

Since I didn't play I'm thinking of lifting later. Would be nice.

No games this week so I went and did a 1 hour skills workout this morning. We have one more week of games then the tourney and I'll be back on my normal workout and lifting schedule.

Just hit the weight room for the first time in what feels like forever. Verdict? I'm weak as all fuck compared to January/February.  315 was the top squat and it felt heavy. :/ Did low reps and tried to be as explosive as possible with 225 and 275. Did some light weight assistance work as well. Just trying to get a feel for where I need to start at in a few weeks. I have no clue how I am jumping low 40s as heavy and weak as I am. I'll take that as a good thing and focus on keeping my reactive-ness up by jumping a lot while I try and push my lifts up again. Felt great to be back in the weight room even as frustrating/saddening as it was lol!
