I couldnt do upper body training (even when I dont post it, but I do it the next day after the workout).

My legs felt very well compared to the last squat sessions. In the morning I was feeling very light, specially on my legs, I guess is the tonic effect.

I was checking my old log when I did smolov jr, the last workout that I did was 90kgx5x3 and it felt easy. Ofc I want to change this and make 90kg some weak weight that I use for warming up.

peace

nice, if you feel good tomorrow or thurs get some nice jumps in.. hope it goes well. sounds like wednesday you'll be feeling good to jump.

you were right, yesterday at some moment of the day I was feeling great. But on monday night my girlfriend's grandfather passed away. Also since yesterday I started doing a replacement, so my sleeping pattern changed a lot and it is killing me. The first day I was feeling like crap (on my mind suicide, quit or getting fired were the only options lol). For the moment the job is only for a month, so I will have money to restock my whey and condoms supplies.

Dizzy, sleepy with a headache. Maybe Ill get sick.

Squat

90kg x 3
90kg x 3  <--- very hard on that last rep
90kg x 3  <--- not as hard as last rep

my head was about to explode at the end of this set.

Is not that I strained a lot, it was just that the weight getting harder to move, I wasnt feeling tired at all.

BBS 45kg x 2 x 4 light

Core work

This weekend Ill jumping for sure.

My girlfriend came over last night and when she got there, she pulled out a metal box and held it out to me. I was like, "What's this? For me?" Then I saw that it said "Durex" on the top and the cash register started going off in my head. Restocking on condoms FTMFW. Girlfriend doing the restocking so I don't have to > *.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

Just went to different places to search for whey (well, only 2 in my city lol) and I have to call some1 who sells too, but after comparing the prices with the one on the US (I checked amazon and ebay) I noticed that in here Ultimate nutrition whey supreme (the one that I have right know) cost TWICE compared to the ones in the US and ON whey gold standard cost twice+10-15usd . ouch to my pocket. But I have to buy it lol

Doubt it, with airmail I would end up paying the same and if costums makes a full search I may end paying for the taxes and even a laboratory analysis

October 31, 2010

Went to the court for some jumps.

RVJ: hitted 25" maybe 26" on 1 or 2, my RVJ dropped very quickly, I couldnt take more than 6 max jumps. At one of the last attemps I runned to the rim make the stop and when I was about to jump I got stuck down and while this happend I thought to myself "wtf just happend, Im stuck down here, Im gonna jump for shit". In fact I almost fall over but I jumped. It was a crappy jump ofc.

Walking VJ: I hitted 26" several times, even when my RVJ was down to 24". You can see the lack of power absorption.

VJ: didnt try

After that I took several jump shots, lay ups and 2L jumps.

It sux cuz my mind and my legs were telling me that I could jump higher, but the power absorption is pushing me down. 26" was my RVJ before I started weight training.

Dunno if im gonna do 2 squats sessions and then a jump session, or just 1 squat session, what I know is that next jump session will be mostly about standing VJ.

Forgot to say something funny, on oct 28 (the day I squatted) I had a blood exam that morning. The nurse had to put the needle on the different places because the blood wasnt coming out, or she had trouble hitting the vein. She started on my left arm, but the blood didnt come out so she started to massage my forearm then tryed on the palm (I think the stuff that she put around my arm wasnt very strong) she put the needle on the outside of my face palm (or upper part, dunno the exact name), blood didnt come out and then massaged again and said "this is weird, I have problem getting through the vein, by any chance you workout or something? your forearm is very fibrous"... "nahh, sometimes" I replied lol .... at then she finally got blood from a veing on my left wrist. Weird experience.

Here's the jello-legs issue :) :

Oct 9: lift
Oct 12: lift
Oct 15: lift
Oct 18: ADA + jumps
Oct 21: lift
Oct 25: lift
Oct 28: lift
Nov 1: jumps

Based on that, it's evident you just need to get in more movement work, which is easily done before each of those lifting sessions. We're talking really breaking a sweat, doing things like interval sprints, jump rope, MR tuck, light MR pogo, submax RVJ's, drop step jumps/SVJ's etc.. None of that stuff even needs to be MAX EFFORT, just need to get those impacts in so that your body/legs in the plant knows how to deal with them... right now you're collapsing in your plants mostly because the forces are occurring too quickly, and your body is used to experiencing forces over longer periods of time (lifting).

Every session, except for jump sessions, should include movement work, really get that blood flowing. Movement work prior to squatting/lunging etc might effect your lifting negatively in the short term, but once you get consistent with it, after 2-4 weeks it won't effect you at all, you'll actually feel better when you get to the lifting portion of the workout.

So my advice is to put more focus on movement, and make "lifting" more of a general stimulus for now, in your mind, change the priority of each. You'll raise work capacity/fitness/improve your jumping just by focusing more on movement right now. I'd follow basically the same schedule you're on currently, just adding this stuff in before the lifts.

peace man

ty adarq.. im taking note

03 nov 2010

shitty session I had 30 min to train, I supose this is better than doing nothing. After arriving home from work I eat a breakfast, finished and assaigment that I had for a course than Im doing at night after that I only had 30 minutes to train.

Pogo jumps 2x8 (I saw a vid of maroko doing them, but the knees looked weird, then I saw another that looked way more safe for my knees)
MR tuck 2x8

Squats - this was more a warm up than anything else
90x1 <--- warm up too, after this I wanted to do another set to see how many reps I was able to do, but my form was like shit, dunno what I did, I think that I left my lower back straight by moving my ass down or forward instead of keeping my back on a natural position. dunno really I was so pissed off and late.

Gonna do VJs this weekend as planned

Went to the court as planned for some jumps. Jumps were a little better, not good, but better, but still no power on them and no force absorption.

CMJ: 24".. I think I hitted 24.5 or 25" but just on one attempt... that doesnt count for me.
VJ: still crappy, got 25.5-26"
VJ with a longer run: I started practicing this ones, form is very crappy since I cant coordinate very well and that speed decrease my jump but I got 27" one one.

Im looking for some light video editor to post a couple of jumps

still, 25/27, better than any previous posts in this journal... progress seems slow by our super-consciousness, but really, alot goes in to improving 1 inch etc, so keep it up !

running VJ / VJ / walking VJ. Yes, the first one is how I do a running VJ, I cant run longer because I cant absorb all that momentum, but Im working on that. Before the final steps used to be more explosive but right now I cant absorb that momentum right now, but Im working on that with the mobility stuff.
