Hell no. Jumping forward is a sign of hip dominance. Think about it. The quads push you up (high bar squat, front squat). The hips push you forward (RDL, hip thrust etc).

I know you're not supposed to believe everything you read, but what about this article

Yeah well think with what you'd need to push to do (consecutive or not) two-leg jumps backward? What about running backward? You could use the quads to move forward (jump forward) but your torso would have to be displaced even more forward than the knees to move the center of gravity forward and allow the knee to bend/extend in such a way that it pushes you up, where up is actually forward due to the angle of your body (think quad dominant two-leg bounds forward).

Check out my 2nd jump there. If you pause it, my knees are way past my toes and the torso is forward, and THEN I push off with the quads. That gets me going forward (obviously the hips push too).

todays workout.

went to my high school to see my track coach, so my workout was a little off.

ran a mile

squat 45x5 135x3..(same progression).....310x1. felt strong on 310

stopped for about 50 minutes (515-605) bc the weight room had to be re-opened by the basketball coach, so kind of just hung around for that time period then did 275x1 285x1 295x1 300x1 305x1 310x1 pinned at 315      speed back offs 225x3x3. felt strong on all of them but squatting twice like that messed me up a bit.

threw in some light snatches, just in between squat sets. not the smartest thing i could've done, but this was a pretty laid back workout.

great job on that 320 x 1 PR man.. training is looking good.. eventually you might want to mix in a few volume days on squat, might help.. volume being a 3 x 5-8 at least, based on your current routine that might provide some nice stimulus.

i've never heard of jay schroeder/inno, nor known the fact that he's a piece of shit. i literally just googled "quad dominance vertical jump" and that was the first thing that came up on google...and thats reason 1 why you don't believe everything you read. the thing i read in VJB2 i remembered backwards (no, I'm not dyslexic) for some reason. haha and the only thing id do isos for are core and glute activation.

would you suggest throwing that in if i hit a wall of some sort? bc if maxing out every day is working i don't wanna mess with it just because. or maybe a 3/4 week max out everyday then 1 week 3x5-8 3x/week?

6 running jumps

Horrible snatches (my shoulder just couldn't take it, contemplating taking it out and focusing on just squat and RVJ/SVJ or replacing it with something else aka start to learn how to clean)

Squat- only got up to 295, got pinned at 300. Probably shouldn't have done double sessions yesterday haha.

Probably taking tomorrow off, or light squats for form purposes

squat: same progression, got up to 305

backoffs 6x2x270

bench 3x5x135

wasn't a good workout, wasn't expecting it to be. didn't warm up bc my gym closed about an hour before i got there so kind of just jumped into it/rushed. I did a lot of sitting/driving today so my hip flexors were tighter than a nun...better than expected though.

was really grinding it out at 300 so i stopped there. wasn't good, form felt off and what not. then did 3x2x225 for speed

Squat: 100x5 135x3 185x3 225x2 255x1 275x1 285x1 295x1 300x1 pinned at 305. No backoffs.

Should probably stop going to bed at 2 am, even if I do get 8-10 hours of sleep, just feel asleep at the rack.

todays workout:

snatch: 45x5 65x3 85x3 95x2 100x1 105x3x1.....elbows killing me from after. caught one of the 105s wrong

squat: same progression, really grinding at 310 so i stopped there. backoffs were 2x1x280, 1x3x280 (failed on the fourth rep). would've done more but i was rushing to get home in time to get ready for a family christmas party.

gonna go heavy with the backoffs tomorrow (unless i get a PR) and do some speed squats on christmas.
