My friends were mad at me coz they want me to go out with them and drink and party, go to fastfood restaurants... i told them i will go hit the gym... they all laughed at me...

it's all good man, i got that plenty of times.. my friends learned to chill with that though, i didn't take to kindly to it.

Quote

- WARMUP

- SPRINT WARMUP
- SPRINTS: 20 yards @ 5x, full recovery in between sprints (2-3mins)
- WARMUP JUMPS
- MAX EFFORT JUMPS: about 10-15 max effort jumps total

- JUMP SQUATS: (65) @ 4 x 3, 1 minute rest in between sets
- MSEM SQUATS: (295) @ 2 x 3 singles (~30 sec rest between singles), 5 minutes rest between sets
- WALKING LUNGES: (10) 3 x 5 each leg, 3 minutes rest between sets
- S1: PUSHUPS: 3-4 x AF
- S1: CHINUPS: 3-4 x AF

- CORE
- STRETCH

nice man!

Quote
i suck at lunges... everytime i go use 20 lbs... 25 lbs - 30 lbs... i have trouble... get out of balance... lose form... theres always pain in my knees... i just have problems with lunges... so i go down and use 10-15 lbs...

it's alright, they will get better.. one of the biggest reasons people lose form is that they don't breathe correctly when performing the lunges.. just like in squat, before you lunge, you inhale and hold your breathe so that when you land, your abs are braced and your core is tight, then you come out of the lunge and exhale towards the top.. if you're not doing that, try it next time.

those balance issues are a sign of weakness, as you improve your lunges, that weakness will obviously disappear and your legs will be much stronger.. picture the day you do them with 80 lb dumbells, it will happen, with good form :)

Quote
with the lung
but everything else is ok... those MSEM squats are a killer... all the people in the gym look at me... "priceless looks"... or "hater looks"... lol...

ya people won't have any idea what you're doing, just tell them: "im doing the maximal strength effort method developed by yuri verkhoshansky as a means to improving RFD/starting strength, maximal strength, and ATP-CP recovery." lolz

Quote
"someday my hardwork will pay off... and i will be like ANDREW DARQUI"

thanks man...

appreciate the compliment man.. i hope to set a better example though in the near future, 40+" RVJ and 4.5 40 would be respectable for myself in my opinion.. that's what i'm shooting for.. then I will feel like a better role model :D

peace man!

What if you're trying to lose fat and maintain strength/muscle...

like my goal going down to 180 lbs...

can i drink whole milk and bananas? "the food of champions"!

or it will just make me store fat?

coz i dont have a protein shake...

and im having a hard time with snacks...

my weight now is 187 lbs... working out and walking at night is the best!

i lost 3 pounds now!

7 more pounds! i can do this!

yup you can drink milk/eat bananas, just try and drink milk after your walking, workouts, or basketball etc... drinking milk post workout is basically like drinking a protein shake.. as for bananas, eat them in the morning for breakfast with whatever else you eat.

you just can't consume so much that the amount of kcal you burn per day is less than how much you intake per day... but a few cups of milk after each workout is nothing to worry about, especially since it contains protein needed to maintain/add lean mass.

I second ardaqui, I had that a lot during the last months. It sucks, but I guess it happens all the time to every person that starts to train seriously. Your friends will get used to the idea that athletics is important to you and if they are not complete idiots they will stop to mock you with it. On the other side though, I don't think that training is something that should interfere with your social life to the point, where the latter starts to suffer too much. It can be wise to compromise a little bit when the patience of family and friends starts to dwindle. Try to accommodate your work-out schedule in a way, that allows school/work/friends/family to have a place in your life too. That does not mean to cancel work-outs, but training 2 hours earlier and meeting your friends at the fast food restaurant later would have been a good idea  :D.

I will eat bananas and drink milk... "the food of champions"...

and thanks for the advice steven-miller... yeah... its all about managing time...

its just that ALL OF THE PEOPLE are IMPATIENT... HAHA! my friends and family...

they're all mocking me... "WHEN ARE YOU GONNA DUNK?!" "dude! you just slapped the backboard!"

"just hang out with us... forget about dunking" "you're not 6 foot! you will never reach it!

"just take up tennis"...

"BE A DOCTOR"!

"all athletes drink alcohol!" "lets party" "lets drink!"

"just be a shooter"

some are jokes... some are haters...

i just cant wait for the day that i will be able to dunk...

and show them... prove everyone wrong...

i remember the day when i touched the rim...

they were all like... "thats not regulation"...

CRAZY WORLD...

they dont support me...

everyone is against me... against my goal of dunking... and becoming a beast athletic basketball player...

i will get this! this my dream... this is my passion...

some people hate me...

coz of my dream...

they think im crazy...

that i will just be frustrated...

they're all at mcdonalds... im at the gym doing MSEM squats!

they hate me when i jump higher everyday! lol...

peace guys...

in the early days of my youtube, and still to this day, i get alot of hate comments on my videos.. for every hate comment i get, it helps fuel a workout/jump session etc.. i welcome doubters/haters, because it really helps me get into the right mindset come training time.

those negative comments can actually become useful after all :D

peace man

yeah man... this program is crazy... we usually train almost 5-6 hours a day... for seven days a week...

its like a Package deal program... all in one...

i know this stuff will get me in game shape...

its really hurting my vertical jump...

i cant do the stuff you told me... jump max effort 2 times a week... and do the weightroom work...

i feel like noodles...

its like a manny pacquiao training...

its hell man...

what do you think should i do man...

still do the lower body workouts? push through it?

5-6 hours a day? that's pretty ridiculous.

i don't really know what you're doing at this point, so hard to prescribe the lower body lifting the same way it was prescribed before.. sounds like your'e training harder than a marathon runner.

regardless of what kind of lower body lifitng you do, the goal should be strength maintenance so... just maintain.

yeah man...

its really hard...

he wants me to get in game shape come september...

i will just maintain my strength...

ayt man... i can do this...

no pain... no gain...

its turning into power endurance.... instead of just power training... for the vertical jump...

its all good... im not rushing to dunk...  i can do this one step at a time...

thanks man!

september is near...

and im getting in game shape really good...

i love the feeling...

conditioning...

and i got my vert back... just after two days of rest... i can grab the rim again...

i "tested" my vert and athleticism today and my game shape conditioning...

blocked a shot (a floater/teardrop)... sprinted... and slap the backboard lay up on the other end fastbreak...

and went back on defense smiling... jogging of course! lol.

i played six pick up games today...

and i did sprints before the games...

so its all good...

september is getting near...

i can feel that i will dunk in one of those games and try outs!

lol... maybe!
